  1. Question for Offshore...I have the JAXA wrench and I have been told it can be used to open Rolex case backs but I have never succeeded in doing anything with it but scratch and gouge my watches. It's the reason I went ot the sticky ball. Have you used it in this fashion?
  2. Thanks offie...I'm just a guy who plays with his own watches every once in a while. I'm also obsessive and I do not take my divers into water (I know...I'm nuts) so I don't know what their WR condition is. I will snug them down with a tool!
  3. Is your need specifically for the Asian 7750? I think the cost thru Cousins is a little rich...over $200 USD. You can find genuine, new ETA7750 movements on the bay for only $100 more.
  4. Genuine Hydro Conquest...keeps perfect chronometer level time after adjustment...plus/minus 7 seconds per week!
  5. I have never had a caseback not open with the ball including genuine Omega Seamasters and Longines divers. Its important you remove the bracelet to get a good grip on the watch case.
  6. Stickyball from Ofrei. Works on just about every kind of screw down caseback
  7. It's like the difference between the gasoline motor that runs your string trimmer and the V-8 in your Mercedes. The faux tourbis are nothing more than a dial opening that display the balance wheel in a standard watch. A tourbillon is one of the most difficult pieces of micro machinery to produce and, simply put, is a mechanical arrangement that rotates the escapement/balance wheel apparatus as it oscillates.
  8. Wow...have you looked in that store? You can make a 2824 "Sublike" from parts for around $250 USD...a 7750 diver for about $700...all completely custom. Keep me away from this place...I'm already in trouble with this addiction!
  9. This is generally a 4-6 week process but I agree, the lack of communication up to this point is disturbing. Recently, I had a piece that was in its third week of travel to China and I spoke to the dealer who advised patience but we also discussed a salvage plan and he took responsibility for the fact that my watch was at the mercy of international air mail because he sold me a watch with defects. I would respectfully approach the question "I think this is a lost cause...what are our options?"...then see what happens.
  10. Its a Joshwatch http://www.1-pc8838.com/lg10006-master-chrono-ssss-whitenumeral-asia-7751-p-5961.html
  11. Very accurate replica too...great quality bracelet and the dial is magnificent!
  12. I love the look of this Longines multi-tasker
  13. This watch is gorgeous...I want one very badly but I'm going to wait until the crystal and clasp issues are worked out. Are you listening Joshua my friend!!
  14. Wasn't one of the incarnation of this site brought down by paypal suspicions several years ago?
  15. That's a tough one. The dealers have to stand behind their watches but they are sometimes at the mercy of poor QC as well. I would make a personal plea to the dealer. I would re-state you have been a faithful customer and an excellent voicebox for the product and ask once again if some kind of compromise can be worked out. I disagree with the statement that 6 months is too long to ask a dealer to stand behind a sale especially one to a devoted customer who paid over $700 USD for a watch. I have a particular dealer I buy from almost exclusively. I have spent well over $5K on watches from him and he understands that good business practice means standing behind those sales. He has and I rarely buy elsewhere. It works out well for both of us. I'm not stating dealers can bend over backwards to treat all customers like this but you seem to be one of the special cases where you should be better taken care of.
  16. Love that Broad Arrow. I had that same watch and sold it about 3-4 years ago. Got obsessed with the incorrect sub dial spacing issue and it became disposable. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!
  17. OOOh Sorry...started another W/C thread...didn't see this one Zigmeister-Navi today on a deployant...best rep deployant I have ever purchased.

  19. Sounds like one member with a motor that idles at 750 RPM and another one with a motor that idles at 1500 RPM. In a transaction, any transaction regardless of the money involved, communication is the key. Taking action without allowing time to recieve answers to questions asked was the root cause of the problem here. Everything else was compounded by other stuff. Seems to me, acting without getting information and taking the dispute public on the boards doesn't reflect well on one of these members.
  20. As you can see in the link, the pics are not very good so I couldn't pick out details. The seller was reputable and it looks like he got ripped off by a jewelry store who sold it to him. He has not made good on a refund yet. The engraving on the clasp is etched, the links do not articulate like the genuine, the pin channels do not have the Omega sleeve bearings, fit and finish is sub par. These go for $600 new and the price combined with the reputation of the dealer was too good to pass up but as soon as I opened it, I knew it was garbage. Filed under live and learn. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190415947803&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
  21. Tag Link Chrono and the Breitling Superocean Steelfish are the closest thing to the real deal out of the box I have seen. This is how the addiction starts my friend...the question you asked will be your guiding mantra as you spend your hard earned money on this hobby!
  22. I'd even go as far to say learn some rudimentary watch servicing skills, like how to switch out a movement, and buy replaceable Asian. I have a couple of $15 asian movement powered Subs that are exceptionally accurate looking outside and economically servicable when the movements go...and the whole setup cost less than $125, replacement movement included.
  23. Sorry for the phone-pic quality. I just got this beautiful, classic Patek chrono back from Josh who fixed a problem with it no questions asked. In the world of questionable rep QC and premium prices, having a collector who stands behind his product has never been more valuable. In all of my years doing this, he has been the most reliable and the most accommodating.
