Watch International .. new apprentice Collector
trailboss replied to Jkay's topic in General Discussion
Hey Mary! Good to see you here. You have an absalute gem of a dealer here guys, one of the very best. Mary will go out of her way to get what you want and at an unbeatable price as well. Trust me, you can not go wrong with this lass! She has my 100% iron clad support and I have been dealing with her for years. Not as long as Luthier tho, who should be along shortly to back me up. Try her out, you won't regret it! Col. PS: what is this with not being able to post in dealer sections? -
I'll bite too, what does make this a "Bond"? 39 grand for a dial? Oi Vey! Shinmeigu does sell some nice stuff and has a 100% feedback rateing but, thirty nine grand???? Madness. Col.

Very rare to get a Swiss MVT in a chrono mate. The MVT alone is worth 400 to 800 dollars depending on grade. The A7750 is a great MVT it just needs some TLC to ensure it's longevity. Just steer clear of any with the seconds at 6 such as the daytonas. They are utter crap. Col.

Aieee! My eyes! Meah, actualy I've seen worse but ya, who wears these? Gatchamans gal above would look oke wearing it but is one of the few! Col.
-
Yep, it's the little things that make a huge difference. Nice work mate. Col.

ETA movements, parts, to be very limited in future?
trailboss replied to magnusson_r's topic in General Discussion
Ya, this is about ebauches, not parts or MVTs. I can't see ETA cutting their own throat by cutting off the supply of either. I gather the plan was to make those companys buying ebauches to buy complete MVTs instead. This appears to have back fired tho as a lot of them have simply gone to another supplier or started inhouse MVT manufacture of their own designs. Agree that with the WFC still in full swing things are not near as rosy for ETA/Swatch as they were when this idea first came to light. They seem to have been downplaying the whole thing themselvs of late. Col. -
Nice project Lani. What's that NDT dial worth and can they still be got? The strap is a perfect match for that piece IMO. Col.
-
Unusualy for a MB I like that! How close to the gen is she Lani? As good as the Discovery? Well if the theory that errors keep the lawyers at bay holds water that makes sense. MB's are too busy trying to keep their pens safe! Col.

LOl @ Dems, again. How could moose get mention without squirrel? Love that show. The deer have come down out of the mountains for the summer here. They are standing around stareing at the goats early in the morning trying to work out WTF the funny looking deer are exactly. Very flighty tho, get shot at too often. Col.

You guys wanted a GTG, how about some takers? I'm gunna be very disapointed if no one bar a couple turn up! Col.

Newest noobfactory blue ceramic Sub review!
trailboss replied to gioarmani's topic in The Rolex Area
Great work Gio. Finaly! Decent CGs on a Rolex rep. Not before time either. See? Wasn't all that hard was it factory guys. Still don't like the smurf blue tho. No where near as nice as the old rich blue IMO. Pastels just don't sit right on a watch. Col. -
Hey, semantics, nomenclature and grammer are fun to discuss/debate. We speak the most fractured language of the lot after all. I may not be able to spell to save my own life but I actualy did very well in english at school and quite enjoy it. One of my pet rants is that newspapers and other publications don't proof read any more. Col.

Guys, board issues should be posted HERE Col.

Hmmm. I did forget that small yet salliant fact. Col.

How good is a Noobmariner with DG2813 movement
trailboss replied to Chips81's topic in General Discussion
Funny, the MVT in my Noob Factory sub is one of the better quality 21Js out there and withstood all sorts of maltreatment. Wore it chopping wood, shooting, useing a sledge hammer all the stuff you are not suposed to do wearing a watch. Dirt finaly ground it to a halt after 12 mths and it's waiting a clean. Was going to wack in a new MVT but the one I got to replace it has too short a sec hand post and the damn thing won't get a grip on the hand. I think that there are a heck of a lot of cheap subs out there being refered to as a Noob when they are in fact nothing of the sort and contain a 2 dollar MVT rather than an actual DG 21J. The one in my 69 dollar ExplorerI I just got actualy made me laugh opon opening the case. Talk about cheap and nasty. I expect that with such a cheap piece tho and it will go when I vintageise the watch. No need to go replacing the MVT untill the one in there gives up the ghost BTW. While it works, don't stuff with things! Just lube the case back seal with a bit of silicone grease and screw her down tight and all will be dandy. Have her tested before going swimming tho, better safe than sorry. The gen Noob is the best value rep out there IMHO, good case, great dial (possibily the best yet) and great bracelet. Only the CGs and the crown itself let it down but that is the case with most rep Rolex. Regards, Col. -
Since both are available in several models, quartz, 21J and high end we realy need a link or pics to answer with any authority. Show us the watches in question and I'll be glad to help. Col.

Define "better", it's an awfully open question. Col.

Can't knock the price Phoey. 5k for FG ain't too shabby either. Col.

SW is a low drain battery and W is high drain. They are designed for two different jobs. Col.
-
Ironic for sure. RWI had the same problem for months. Seems to me it's one thing that should be right on a watch forum! Col.
-
Holey crap is right. Nice tool set mate! Here's mine: Col.

"Replication" is certaily a closer term. "Reproduction" I feel is more used for a rep of something no longer available so would be oke for vintage stuff. In general usage it also implies 1:1 however as in reproducing an item NLA. Ahhh, semantics! Col.

Added and PM sent. Col.

Lucky Danni, poor Amsterdam. Onze, keep your eyes peeled, he may need help! Col.
