  1. now, now, Mikey...what would be the fun in that option?...
  2. beauty PAM, Hike!...what model is that? been neglecting the Breits in my collection - so going with the Granddaddy today...
  3. @Pete - let's not forget the sanding that's needed...i used this to get my final results...
  4. wow!...looks great, D...very unique...well done for the vision and Z for the execution!... R-
  5. agreed... here's a pix of the case before i sanded it - the sanding does give its "depth" and dulls down the finish - which has a low luster sheen similar to the brushed ss cases...i'll need to do another sidebyside of a couple PAMs with it this weekend...this pix will give you an idea of how it looks next to ti and ss...more pix in the refinishing post... 6. @TeeJay...thanks!...what started out as a question to the Panerai forum on what the heck to do with these ugly painted pvd dealer cases turned into a nice project...the finish comes out pewter in color and look...draws attention to the black dial...took 90 minutes to do - with cape cod cloth and sanding pad...easy as a snap and creates a really unique look... thread with details and pix of the process here: hackR's pvd case refinishing post
  7. been on the wrist for 4 days...there's definitely more love for those you assemble...Z's c1/c3 mix is simply the best!... just had to include a Syracuse Orange wristie...#1 Team College Basketball............this week...

my newly created pvd "lite" model...
  11. thanks, Mick!...i was thinking the same...Seawolf looks lighter - but pix can be deceiving...
  12. @mir36 -> Wow!...thanks...terrific idea...i reallllly appreciate your advice - and as you can see, my piece came out really unique and cool... to all - this is a pretty easy process to do...i'm new to this modding thing, and look how mine came out...there's a really nice dull sheen now - that i would say is similar to a brushed ss sheen...the color is a nice blend of gun metal, bronze, and pewter...that's the best way to describe it...really creates a nice looking piece that definitely is not black... my the price of a jacksontse, getat or other dealer pvd case, i'd highly recommend this mod... R-
  13. @Clv --> the bezel on the ss CA is brushed...same as the Skyland...so no need to "blast the polish off"...something else to keep in mind is that the bezel is an absolute bear to take off the Skyland...i think it's easier on the CA...but both can only be removed with special tools...lastly, since the ss CA is an older, slow selling model, i would be surprised if you can source just the bezel...but hey, ya never know... a suggestion if you're interested in the CA look for a Skyland...perhaps its worth seeing if other members need parts from the CA - then just buy one and part it out...someone may want the crystal, someone the case, someone the dial/movement...worth exploring, IMO... R-
  14. looks great, Mick!...and i agree on the wearability... is the grey of the Seawolf dial the same color as the grey Skyland?... R-
  15. more than happy to assist, Sixx!...
  16. looks great...wear it well...thanks for sharing...R
  17. receding waters from the bay is what will fuel the eventual rise of the seas to come...pls take heed and be well!... R-
  18. +1... i came here for Breitling...and just didn't get the design concept of PAMs...well - i decided why not...got a destro PAM 239 because it was different - as i thought all PAMs were - so why not get a different different watch...never bonded with it, and passed it on to the Toadmonster...bought vlydog's 219 and I was hooked...now owning 8 PAMs...or so... nice thread, B!...funny how you factor into my PAM enlightenment... R-
  19. thoughts and prayers to those in Chile...and for those in the path of the tsunami, take heed!... R-
  20. thanks, S!...i took a look at the CG pin - but if i flatten it, i'll strip off the pvd coating - and don't want a shiny pin...perhaps someone has a spare pvd pin?!... R-
  21. just finished this up with a nice ziggified c1/c3 mixed dial and handset...
  22. just finished this piece -- using a cape codded, sanded, pvd getat case and ziggified c1/c3 mix dial and handset...cool!... Go Syracuse!...R
