  10. I found RWG in a wildass google for Breitling reps a year ago...so its only appropriate that after owning/selling/trading over 50 reps (safe to say over 50!) and with a current collection of 25 (or so!) reps, that this watch is clearly my favorite - especially now after the addition of chieftang's amazing double AR... i've always felt a connection to the Breitling brand - and this particular model represents me very well... 11. thanks, Guys!... there's a part II to the Spa treatment... here goes: i sent a v2, along with the v1 -- to attempt a dial/hands/movement swap; putting the better v2 dial/hands/movement into the v1 case...yes - andreww - i have your CA primer/review memorized by now... this would have been the closest mod you could do with v1, in lieu of finding a gen dial...yeah - right; dream on!... well -- the Master discovered that the two cases and components are just different enough to make this work out...so i stuck with my standard set of v1 components...and now with chief's double AR, the watch is simply amazing...i don't need it to be "perfect" -- as most would never know what that is anyway...those that have seen this watch since the crystal disappeared think it's quite the piece... and it is... R-
  12. i posted this watch in last week's wristcheck and forgot to post pix here...this is by FAR one of my favorite watches - rep or gen...the chief AR was icing on the cake... home, sweet, home... nice to have this back after a Canadian Spa visit and some badass chieftang handiwork... enjoy the pix...R [ Breitling Chrono Avenger v1 on Strap-Works 1860 Deluxe dark chocolate with white stitching]
  13. argh -- have an old skool Omega Broad Arrow w/ seagull st-19 movement...it's an older model rep that By-Tor did an amazing review on... after a broken crown/stem, i replaced the crown/stem with another one from Z...however, i noticed that when i originally released the broken stem, the stem release lever button remained depressed...i seriously didn't depress the button hard at all, and the stem came out easily - i honestly can't recall if i had the stem in the "set time" position or not...argh...i have no idea if the stem release lever button is supposed to have lubrication or not, but i'm wondering if the age and/or lack of lubrication has caused the button to stay in the depressed position...i think i understand from various readings and googling how the stem release lever mechanism works...in the depressed state the stem release post on the lever is now also depressed -- resulting in me being able to re-insert the stem, wind the watch, but it not being able to lock in place to allow me to set the hands and/or keep the crown from coming out... so -- can i assume that i need to have this watch serviced because i screwed up the keyless works?...is there a simple attempt that won't further mess up the keyless works that might dislodge the release lever and raise it back into position?...a pin or something?...yikes, i know...that's why i created this post - i don't want to mess it up any more than it is... thoughts on what to do?...any other ideas before i consider sending it out for service?...hey - i am kinda glad that i attempted to fix the crown/stem and have learned a lot along the way...so all is not for naught...just need to know if i should back off and let an expert fix this now... thanks...R
  14. Excellent purchase with John of his cheiftang'd Breitling Montbrillant...

John and I connected after commenting on each other's Breitlings in various wristchecks...

tremendous communication throughout the process...he generously tossed in a PAM strap, too!...great gesture, great deal, great member...

an absolute pleasure...and even better connecting ...

  15. @Chief --> i, too, have seen the gen...and your crystal is an amazing upgrade to the gen!... my pix were taken last nite quickly with dinette lighting...the details in Lani's pix are oh so accurate...when you wear this watch, you just stop and look at the dial...it really catches the light...i'm thinking this is part of the double AR addiction...stopping and staring... R-
  16. here's pix of mine...i was fortunate to get this from a senior member... Mods: 1) Silix cross transplant 2) chieftang double AR 3) bracelet clasp - replaced with correct one 4) The Zigmeister lume 5) The Zigmeister service - swiss eta movement i love this watch...as Lani said, the dial/bezel/bracelet really makes this watch...i wear it loose like a bracelet...wears larger than it is...WILL NEVER SELL... enjoy -- R
  17. feeling the 117 today...
  18. wow...what timing... Lan - my Tag Link Chrono blue dial literally just came back from Z-work and chief's double AR...it looks as amazing as yours...matter-of-fact, it was with your suggestion months ago that i decided to send it out...thanks, man!... loved the watch - the links bracelet and the great detail in the dial -- but it was just soooo hidden by the crystal glare...what a difference chief's AR makes...here's a quick before and after set of pix...in the before pix, it really shows how the dial is hidden by the glare...this watch - without double AR - was almost impossible to shoot good dial shots because of the glare...you can see how the poor dial was hidden... now - with chief's double AR - it's simply amazing... R- BEFORE: AFTER:
