  1. @Pete and BMike --> thanks, guys!... love this watch...and Pete - you're right - the uniformity of the dial is perfect...and accented subtly with the small use of red and blue...the silver hands/markers sparkle...no crystal - so it's all out there with no reflection!... R-
  2. many dealers carry the Navi World/GMT...mine has the parchment/antique white dial... a sweet watch -- but remember it wears large at 47mm...a lot of glass -- but oh so sexy with chieftang double AR...
  3. hey Marty!... Happy Birthday!...R
  4. something a little different... got this piece in a FS from mickey padge and sent it North for a little refreshment...some creme colored c1/c3 z-lume and a naked crystal... the dial on this watch is a nice charcoal gray/black; distressed old pvd case (note the rehaut area is still pvd), DLC contrasting pin, T60 crown, display back, sapphire crystal, swan neck asian movement... here's a link to MP's homage thread where he showcases this piece (before its latest z-treatment): Mickey's custom PAM homage thread enjoy - R before pix...looks much better now than with the old lime lume and blue hued crystal, huh?!...
  5. this just came back from the Spa...stripped AR and some nice c1/c3 z-juice!... some before and after pix of my distressed PAM homage "MPZ" edition (mickey padge zigmeister)... much better than the old lime crud lume and blue hue AR, huh?!...
  6. nice one, Doc!...glad you like it - that's all the matters!... thanks for sharing... R-
  7. Happy Holidays, RWGrs!... Today the family went to the local Christmas tree farm to cut down the tree... Soooo, i thought why not ask a few "live" tree questions of those whose celebrate the Christmas season: 1) what watch did you wear? 2) cut yourself, buy one pre-cut, artificial? 3) tree type? 4) approximate size? 5) what country/state do you live? 6) what price did you pay? ************************************************************ 1) Breitling v1 Chrono Avenger on chocolate leather 2) cut it down 3) Concolor fir 4) 7 1/2 feet 5) USA/NY 6) $38usd
  8. Back to Breits for the day/weekend!...fly, Blackbird, fly... TGIF, RWG!... R-
  9. white... what Lani said... R-
  10. welcome, Jay!...
  11. huh?!
  12. @Toad...showoff!... ..but then again, it doesn't get much better than this in a watch!!... let's all face it...chief's AR takes a watch to a whole other level...and is quite honestly, in a league by itself...gen manufacturers don't have it this good... for the cousteau '06 - the rep AR is VERY good and damn near close to the gen...chief's AR is not needed IMO, but as Lani's pix show - brings it to a whole other level...i say this, because some watches, like the Tag Link have such lousy crystals that you MUST send it to chief... R-
  13. damn...that's really nice, A... and cool for anyone like me, that has an "H" initial... ...not so sure i'm in love with the hands on it, but the rest is cool!... love the watch name: "Abyss Explorer"... R-
  14. BC -- very nice...cool!...R
  15. nice watches...thanks for posting...love both...(and yowsa on the gen straps...jealous, i am!) you can't go wrong with the gray skyland...almost any strap goes with it... wear them both well... R-
  16. as always, thanks, Lani!...similar advice from DL...i asked Z to do whatever he felt best... re: tritium lume and patina...the gen 026b/T dial was made with tritium in 1998, if i'm not mistaken...curious on how quickly tritium ages...am glad Z's mix is fainter charged...i'm also glad that the hands and dial will match... much thanks for the info and convo on this topic... R-
  17. +1 Gio... i'm thinking a "Tin Foil and RBII" follow-on post in The Series might work!... R-
  18. hey Gio - i have one that is Ziggified...from what i recall, some members opt for chief's double AR to really bring the dial out...but others do not...mine has a rep AR coated crystal (not sure if it's single or double) but it has an ever slight blue hue (almost clear, tho) and is really nice...i also recall a member saying that the rep AR (which mine is!) is actually very close to the gen... i wear mine in more of a formal setting mostly...and i have to tell you, it's a great piece...the silver accents on the dial really sparkle...get it re-lumed, tho...Toad had his done by Z with blue lume...mine is c3...cool glowing! so my vote is get one and you'll be fine with the rep crystal as is...if not, get it cheif'd...but i really don't see a need to do so based on mine... R-
  19. a little slower transition B, please...
  20. Hey Jesper - do i like it?!?!...absolutely, my friend... love the look - i mounted it on the rubber strap - same as in the gen picture above...hoping the 117 comes soon... i'm gonna send it off to The Zigmeister for re-lume...so the timing of this post was great - as i'm trying to sort out the coloring for the job...personally, i tend to like the lighter/creamier tritium color than the yellower color...but thought i'd try to understand it all before it get done...balancing what i like with what the gen had... so to all - are there difference shades of tritium depending on model and year?...i assume tritium ages yellow with time?!...it's tough to tell by looking at gen pix like theones in the paneristi link R-
  21. we're not worthy...we're not worthy... A - outstanding work on this!... you are right...i need to sort out what to do with my skyland dw from the carcass...and my CA is a higher end and better replicated piece... the thick blah font in my Navi actually consumes a lot of the date window - which actually makes the entire date blend into the black dial more so...and since it's recessed, that draws less attention; mostly to me, the wearer...all in all, tho, may be cool to experiment with the ETA look to verify all this... excellent work - on the discovery as to why the current dw sits low in the window...
  22. Hey S -- thanks... gotta see if i can get the skyland movement working before i cannibalize it...agree tho, the skyland dw would be better... Offshore kit enroute...a great deal...got a couple watches i'll learn on before i screw up my Navi!... heaven help us...all us guys with tools?!...yikes!... R-
  23. here's a gen arabic...potentially wider window - but tough to tell with the bevel...
  24. 6 ticks!...cool...looks like my arabic dial and your composite are spot on, A... now - i need to decide on using the skyland carcass dw or an eta dw?!... excellent process to compare, ya know...increases the odds of this swap working!...you're the man!... R-
  25. question on vintage PAM lume?...regarding tritium lumed dials - did Panerai use the same color mix of this lume or are some T dials lighter/cremier than others?...i tend to see some difference in various models...some creme, some yellow...or is this just the nature of tritum - does it change color with age?... for example - am planning to send my new PAM 026b from marinamm20 to Z for relume...found some pix on watches24seven.com of a gen 026b "T" dial...the lume definitely looks more creme than yellow, IMO... watches24seven PAM026b with T-dial pix gen pix below...
