anyone with a - gulp - ss Seawolf... measurements of the crystal diameter?... what's the thickness on the new ss Seawolf crystal?... gotta tell ya - i really like the taller rep rehaut...and the gap between top of the rehaut and the crystal is pretty darn small - slightly less 1mmm...but then again, with the thinner crystal, i won't be able to go down 3000m?!... R-

thought there was post of a Pro1 bracelet coated here awhile back?!...hmmmmm....can't recall who/where?... Pete -- let's see the dial, man!...gen-envy... R-

2 things to consider with this one... 1) size 2) crystal Both the 47mm and the 38mm versions of the railmaster are very good replications...i owned the 47mm and loved the classic look...but i felt it was just too large - even tho it's a thin watch...i have a 7.5" wrist and it felt too big for me...the second thing that i didn't like was the crystal...it has NO ar...and reflects everything...it masks the dial, IMO...if you get it, you really should consider aftermarket AR...the lume on the 47mm is ok, but nothing to write home about...the 38mm version that is still sold by josh and others has a really nice AR and one of the best rep straps - it's actually gen croc on a depoloyment...it's also got a swiss eta movement and nice lume...Lanikai has posted pix of his 38mm a number of times... I hope this helps... here's a wristie of mine shot in a mirror... R-

here's to ya, Lani!... Have a great weekend!...R

Oris CC stop/start pusher repair help needed...
hackR replied to hackR's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
ok...i think i figured this out...i am missing a spring and a clip...clip goes in the slot and is inside the casing...the spring goes in between the pusher crown and the case pusher tube...right?!?!... if so - where do i source a new spring and clip?!... thanks...R -

re: the Chorno-matic...first off, "DIBS"...when you get bored... you beat me to the question on the AR...it looks to have a light blue tint - but not overpowering...breits should have a little blue hue, ya know?!... if times permits, you should post a thread in the Breit forum of the Chorno-matic...more pix of side/back/etc...it really looks sharp... where did you source it?... re: SOH...i never get around to prioritizing the purchase of this one...love it...argh?!... very cool...R -
Breitling Chrono-matic,SOH,IWC TG group-wrist shots!

J - well done...a nice Breitling fix to start the day!...thanks, man!... love the chronomat, too!...where did you source this puppy?...you don't see a lot of these around - a beauty!... thanks for sharing!...R -
The stop/start pusher comes completely out of the case...and i think there should be a spring, retaining clip or something...not a clue tho...does someone have a pix of how this should look and/or how it works?...there's no spring in mine...the pusher pulls completely out of the case...upon insertion, i can get it to push/start the chrono - but it stays in stuck...i then can pull it completely out and re-insert a second time to stop it...the reset chrono works fine...i suppose i can decase the movement and take apart the reset pusher to see how it works (assuming it may be similar to the stop/start pusher?!) but thought i'd inquire here first...i've included pix of the stop/start reset pusher...if someone has a pix of how it should look or can explain it to me, that would be appreciated... also, if i'm missing a spring and/or clip to keep it together, where might i source this?... the movement chronos work fine...they stop/start and reset fine...it's this pusher that's the problem... i bought the watch this way - knowing the chronos were not working...the prior owner hadn't a clue why...so i am attempting a fix...the screw-down feature of the pushers works fine, too... appreciate the help/advise/direction... thanks...R

logical friday for me today...been a lonnnnnng week...

thanks, Doc!... can i assume that some PAM models have a matte/semi-gloss finish and some are flat?...the sheen on my 219 LH sandwich is very sharp and noticeable, while my old 112 was more flat...so wondering if that is just differences in manufacturers and/or what the real dials have for finish... R-
-
pretty safe to conclude its fake... yes - it's tough to tell which subdial is the seconds hand (either 6 or 9)...sometimes even the "chrono" hand ticks...if it ticks, it's quartz... a good source to look/verify for watches like this is www.watcheden.com they have a whole assortment of quartz, a21j and a7750 models... R-
-
fake - for any number of reasons...sliderule doesn't align...does the second hand tick?...3 o'clock subdial looks to be a 24 hour indicator...etc, etc... have you opened the caseback?... and yes - Breitling would never misspell Switzerland... interesting piece, tho...especially the caseback...bentley motors?!... R-
-
mine does, Mike...

nicely done!...looks sharp... the clear matte finish applied?...is that done before or after the lume?...and is it done to add some dimension/character/sheen to the dial?...i just posted a thread inquiring on this... thanks...wear it well!...R

still learning, i am...and currently own and/or have owned a number of PAMs...some of my dials have had a nice matte/semi-gloss sheen to them (my 219 with LH dial) and some have a flat finish to them...i'm not at all sure what the gens have - as it's not always easy to make out the details in pix...soooo - is there a rule of thumb and/or some way to know what's "right"?...does it vary by model or PAM era or what?...IMO, i absolutely loved the semi-gloss sheen of the finish on the LH dial...just wondering?!...especially with reps - dials made/sold by LH, DSN, FGD, cartels, creatures from another planet... R- Examples below: PAM 112h PAM 117 PAM 219 PAM 252 etc, etc, etc...

very sharp...wear it well!... R-

Thanks, Guys... @krpster --> in color, the rep rehaut is actually pretty close to the gen dial - but a tad lighter...almost unnoticeable, tho...the numbers and ticks on the rep rehaut are larger, too - so they stand out a bit more...since the crystal on the gen is 4.5mm or so thick, the gen rehaut is short...the rep crystal isn't 4.5mm, thus creating the gap between the installed rehaut/dial and crystal...even with the rep rehaut, there's a small 1mm gap - but again, hardly noticeable...the rep rehaut has the same feet as the gen rehaut, so it's an easy fit... see pix below of the gen rehaut installed... R- gen rehaut installed... rep rehaut installed...
