  1. Thanks and congrats! I'm surprised that the Clarity filter was used. With a lot of my attempts using it, the results looked overdone because of the lack of a slider that's available with some of the other efex. It worked perfectly with your file.
  2. I love the color and atmosphere of this capture. Care to share the processing used?
  3. iPhone files are big enough you can do some pretty tight cropping... and I still reduced the file size by 50% after the crop.
  4. Looks like a jig for holding a cg.
  5. I REALLY like that set-up for holding the case... makes such a big difference on the final product!
  6. It's the second one with the ammo-style strap I have the new 005M on order... that one will probably get DLC coated.
  7. iPhone, no loupe, just a little "tripod" and good lighting. I like the loupe idea... going to give it a try this week!
  8. And with an almost 25 x price differential!
  9. I had made this post a couple of months ago in the PAM forum, but decided it would good to post here as well. Getting closer
  10. And 40mm Luminor Marina have a 22mm lug width for 22mm straps keep that in your mind too
  11. While organizing some folders on my desktop this morning, I came across these from last year. Pics of the same watch, taken at the same time but under different light. One under total shade, the other under partial sunlight. DLC coatings turn your watch into a chameleon. It can go from black to pencil lead depending on where you're standing. Same buckle DLC coated. Taken at the same time, one with more daylight hitting it from a window, the other (in the same room) directly under a ceiling light.
  12. Not necessary... the new H factory crystals are actually better (this is FACT)! And, when you order one, a watch comes with it
  13. Hands are PreV style, and yes they do match the lume color of the numbers/indices...
  14. It's more about texture than matte. Unfortunately, about the only way to create that subtle texture is with a matte spray... and I think member aardian may have come up with how to make matte spray work
  15. No problem... I didn't take it as criticism, it's DSN's plexi, not mine The gen is lower, and I found a great deal on 5 of them. But for those that own a DSN case set and want it to look closer to gen, I was letting them know it's an easy mod.
  16. No problem at all to lower... 2 minutes of sanding and it's whatever height you want... so easy
  17. DSN plexi from the side... highly recommended. Saves some money and a lot of polishing!
  18. I spent $750 total USD. But here's the deal... if you substitute an Asian version 4697 movement and DSN's plexi (which is 90% accurate to a gen T24), the total was $400 USD. This is what I had into it before the plexi and movement upgrade. For $400 it looked exactly like the first pic in my OP Here's the DSN plexi next to the gen...
  19. It's taken about a year, and I had searched most of that time for the right dial to finish it. I must say that all of the previous dials I installed I could have settled on quite happily, but when the opportunity came to buy this dial (as seen in the attached pics), I jumped on it. It's a dial made by Kbiz and lumed, resin filled and finished by Merlin. Look closely at the close-up images and you can see how he has managed to very accurately replicate the look of a 3-piece dial without the added thickness. I have no idea how he does it, but the results are 1:1 accurate AND without having to order a custom taller CP and bezel. It dropped in perfectly to the refinished DSN case. The gen Tropic 24 sets off the their dial beautifully
  20. Gen lume looks the same in daylight, never as white as the hands...
  21. Another great build and choice of movement! That particular movement goes beautifully with the pillow-shape case. Lots of good decisions made and executed making it all fit together, both functionally and aesthetically
  22. The watch I took in trade can be seen here... http://www.rwgforum....__1#entry872913 The day of the trade with member Kimerathon1, a mikey2008 crystal was added (thanks J for doing the swap!) and today I polished out the blackened rotor screw and added the more accurate "H" transfer. I made 2 failed attempts at applying the "27 Jewels..." transfer, so will save the 2 I have left for another day. I like how the sand-blasted ceramic surfaces change in different light... anywhere from a light blue gray to a warm deep black. This pic was taken in the shade... in room light the bezel appears as dark as the screws. The mikey2008 crystal is very impressive with it's polished edge (correct height with a slight bevel) and correct AR tint. No black screws now, stripping then polishing the rotor screw only took a couple of minutes. Now the hunt begins for a properly engraved rotor. I'm not a big fan of white dials, but this one has grown on me. This is my first Hublot and I'm impressed with the overall quality and the fact that many of the parts are actually ceramic as advertised... verified when it was taken apart for the crystal swap. I hadn't realized just how light ceramic parts are.
  23. Anyone that carries the H factory watches... such as... http://www.rwgforum.com/forum/73-joshua/ http://www.rwgforum.com/forum/65-trusty-time/
  24. I think it's more common with sausage lumed dials than sandwich.
