  1. The 24 is the same way. Pic taken in the shade outside... and it wasn't charged in direct sunlight!
  2. Actually the dials are exactly the same darkness/shade of black. It's hard to get that across with an iPhone camera, shooting outdoors and dealing with reflections. Thanks W! Yeah life got in the way for awhile, but I'm getting back to it and will try not to be such a stranger Steady hands with the iPhone and selective touch focus, and with these I rested the phone on the same surface or a thick book on the same surface as the watch.
  3. Yep, the 2nd pic in all of the comparos is the rep. The apparent bezel difference might be more a factor of the iPhone, it's slight angle difference as well as the distance from the watch (all pics were cropped down a lot).
  4. Rep vs. gen... lug width/profile (see side view), crown, cg... lots of little details, but overall it's a solid 8/10.
  5. The member I bought it from originally bought it from Josh. Bracelet from the eBay seller mentioned in this thread, just need to polish the outside links (which are the same size and shape as OEM).
  6. Cool... that's got to be the same seller. Once you polish the links on the outside per gen, you have one very nice combo.
  7. I just spoke with the first owner and he got the mesh on eBay. Couldn't remember the seller's name but they sell for $60 and this is the 24/22 version. He said the seller lists them in several sizes. The quality is way better he added than the ones you can find for $25. He spent some time polishing the outer surface as they come with a satin finish.
  8. For reference, the bezel insert measures 39mm. I would compare it to wearing a 44mm PAM 243 sub on your wrist.
  9. Yeah, I guess that's what you'd end up with mixing those 2 POS watches together
  10. The effects are adjustable by percentage. I agree they usually don't look good when applied 100%... a little bit goes a long way. I rarely go beyond 25%.
  11. Some quick phone pics sitting on the hood of my car in the parking lot. Aftermarket mesh bracelet polished and fitted to the watch. This is a V2 Ploprof. The micro-adjusting clasp is very solid and well-done.
  12. Actually the crown looks pretty good and they finally got the tube shortened! Agree, most rep straps are a throwaway.
  13. This new version looks pretty d@mn good! And they finally got the lug wires close to the right length!!! Case shape looks good too Got to try on the gen awhile back and have really liked the 292 ever since...
  14. Moved the watch closer to the light to get rid of the big reflection on the crystal and ended up with a little bounce back from the rehaut.
  15. The gen used a process similar to metal die/stamping, engraving that small and precise isn't economical and would take too long. The rep factories can't afford to do these movements of this quality.
  16. I'm curious, what was it about the H factory's cg you felt needed re-profiling? The shape is very close to gen already and the satin/brushed finish nearly perfect.
  17. Agree with the buckle vs. deployant, that and the strap are a great combination with that model
  18. When it looks lighter, what you are seeing is partially reflected light giving the appearance of a lighter finish (the first pics in your post are under soft box/studio lighting which gives the finishes a much lighter appearance, not what you will see in normal office or home lighting). I own a gen 360 and it can appear both light and dark, but in most indirect lighting situations it appears darker than typical PVD. Actually both gen 360 and 195's can appear as dark as the 292 ceramic (once again the lighting is the main determinate). I'm not trying to turn this into a pissing contest, just passing on what I know to be the case in-person. Same watch direct light and indirect light... This is why pics are unreliable for matching finishes, especially DLC coatings... same DLC coated buckle, different light source (no pic, but outdoors it looks black).
  19. This just might be my first AP purchase as I keep coming back for another look. Great comparo and pics... much appreciated! Looks great on the OEM rubber, I see no reason for any other strap.
  20. Gen 360 is definitely darker. It's the same DLC coating that was used on the 195.
  21. The app in the thread title... "Dynamic Light" I processed it in the phone app Dynamic Light then emailed the full-size file (with the iPhone files are 1936 x 2592 pixels) to my main computer. I checked it out in PS for dust and did the final crop there (I find it hard to get the exact crop I want on my phone's small window view). From there to PB. See below the original iPhone file before I processed it in the phone app. You can check this pic's EXIF Data and see that it was indeed taken by my iPhone 3 things necessary for best results... hold the phone absolutely steady, strong light (I shot this outside blocking the sun with my body) and use the touch-focus feature to pick the exact spot you want to be in focus. Another thing is I didn't shoot this pic inches away from my watch...the first pic in my OP is a tight crop of this pic. The files that come off the iPhone are 14.4MB jpegs, so there's more than enough pixels to crop down tight The original file before processing...
  22. Thanks guys. So is the rumored 127 supposed to come from the same factory as this one? That will be a major event
  23. Meant to post it in this forum... see it here ("Dynamic Light" app)
