  1. It's all there in the camera data (Exif) There is an amazing amount of latitude with the full-size 3GS files. Here's a 100% crop. Rep 1680...
  2. Using the 3GS's touch focus to choose the critical area of focus makes a big difference when getting in close.
  3. Although pretty basic, I'm finding the onboard processing app from TheBestCamera.com gives me great results without having to rely on a computer. Disclaimer... cropping was done in PS, but all image/color processing was done on the phone with the app's filters and white boarder option. Pet pic taken with older 3G, the franken 111 with a 3GS. Lighting was mixed with no effort made to control it. Best $2.99 I ever spent on software. http://www.thebestcamera.com/app.html
  4. Oh my.... I see one particular piece with some serious gen parts
  5. Yeah... and that's not the standard 249 Cali. He's sportin' the Platinum 262
  6. Donnie Edwards did... the ex-player standing 3rd from the left. The guy standing next to Drew had me take this pic for him. We were all at a Panerai dinner hosted by our local AD (Drew still keeps a house here in San Diego).
  7. Gorgeous UN and great pic! Mine's a 111 franken... JF case, T48 and gen dial and hands.
  8. Did some more experimenting with my cellphone's camera... getting in closer and way more convenient than carrying a separate camera around.
  9. Please... we really need to see the other side as well!!! This is what I call true "state of the art"
  10. Still going strong for almost 20 years...
  11. ... and plexi plus I believe it might come with both open and closed case backs. More than fair price for essentially 1:1 gen spec (both inside and out!) for less than 1/10 the price of the real thing.
  12. Back to my first project of 2010...
  13. Absolutely 1:1 and worth every USD... all 2400 :thumbsupsmileyanim: I have my Cali dial and 618 movement ready to be installed
  14. Latest project... favorite phone pic...
  15. Wearing that 89 would be so much more soul-satisfying than the full gen version. A beautifully done project with great documentation... this is what it's all about! Love it! Thanks for posting
  16. Just measure the part of the crown the O-ring goes around for the "i.d." measurement OR take the crown with you to a local supplier (Google is your friend). A little silicone grease rubbed on the O-ring and you're good-to-go!
  17. They come up FS pretty regularly @ paneristi.com. Used prices are fairly reasonable and negotiable.
  18. I would start with a new stem... that way you can fine tune it to the right length for the new crown. A small O-ring placed into the inset area of the crown (between the back of the crown and the case) will give a limited, but similar feel of a spring-loaded crown.
  19. Thanks! And you are absolutely right... not a single risti (3 so far) has raised an eyebrow re. the cg, even after noting the movement and series. Caseback pic for you...
  20. Here you go... Providing a couple of angles as the wide-angle point and shoot lens distorts the shape of the case and cg. For reference, the same amount of crown shows, above and below the cg. I love how the top contour of the gen cg blends into the soft curve of the JF case.
  21. Thanks! A big chunk of the credit goes to the 2 members with the necessary parts and the right tools Really hard to judge the final cost as many of the parts were acquired through trading... we just keep trading parts back and forth. It's a community thang! Thank you! Thanks... me too! Yeah... I think I'll be keeping this cg on there despite being incorrect for an E series. Labor of love for sure. As a result, this hobby has taught me patience and how some things are worth the wait in the end. Thanks... I really like the pics I get with my iPhone. Yes... this is one of the few contemporaries I really like. Would be interesting to know why the decision was made to go "plain". Probably to save cost is my guess. Bad decision if so. The original E series cg went to another project the owner of the 111 we parted out is planning.
  22. Haven't stopped wearing this one since putting it together this past weekend. phone wristy...
