A quick update. Here's the result. I've ordered a bezel insert for one of them as the current one is busted. Otherwise, not bad outcomes.

nope 2784 is at ~11 and ~41 minute positions.

Hey guys, So I was fortunate to pick up two of these watches - both non runners, one with significant rust. Here are the original pieces as they stand, I will post the pictures of how they have turned out shortly.

though I must say, it wasn't more efficient just to buy an all original 1675? I can't imagine this project been under $4.5K-5K in total costs

Thought i'll update you guys on this build which sadly has taken several months to finish. Most of the reason is because I had other projects more important but nonetheless, here it is. So the original thread is below: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/176763-wip-building-a-cheaper-alternative-to-tc-submariner-16610/ The original thought was to see if a cheaper alternative could be built vs. the TC Submariner. I think i'm pretty close to shaving half the price. The original cost-benefit comparison again: The total that i spent was just under $300 including shipping of all the parts. The reality is, many members are upgrading their TC subs for genuine parts which means there are a surplus of TC parts around. For example, I picked up the bezel insert, DWO, bracelet, crown and tube for under $100. The interesting part is I have a genuine 16610 D-serial piece which corresponds directly to this rep, including the flat "s" in submariner. Another great feature of this old TW case is that there are engraving (whereas the new TCs don't) so the D-serial and 16610 T markings makes this a little nicer! Here are the final pics, enjoy and let me know any comments (good and bad are welcome!)

Never seen Omega name below Chronometer before - could be redial. Open up backcase and show pic of movement. If anything, this is a very old watch, way before 30 years ago.

dial looks like redial hands fake movement is genuine (not hard to come by, you can pick one of these up from old tudor princes. To your question regarding the 2483 and 2452, they are similar but not exactly the same. Hands should be the same though

I recently spotted one of these and realised that I really like the simple look of the watch. I know some of you guys will frown on a quartz watch but its also kind of nice to not have to reset your watch every time! They are cheap, you can find them on eBay for around $60-100 depending condition. Heres a pic that I stole from the web. Love to hear your thoughts!

Firstly I doubt any rep 10 years ago could accept gen crystal as that required it to have gen like construction which I dont believe appeared in 2005. Also, whoever wants to deal with a member with 2 posts, albeit 9 years as a member here, its your risk and your call. Mods should definitely shut this down.

This was a bad deal... You know its a bad deal when the original seller discounts the piece significantly....also I agree with Pam007, you should avoid buying a "genuine" on a replica forum. I hope you work this out but that watch, with serials removed, will be tough to hold value in the future. Alternatively, you can send it to Phong to have the serials "re-engraved" lol

Yeah interesting thing was I took it into Rolex for a service quote and was told that they have seen an influx of vintage tudor snowflakes ever since Black Bay came out. Looks like there are alot of them around we just dont see them for sale very often.

After having a rep Tudor 9411 for the last year or so, I fell in love with it and its style so have been eyeing to get a genuine piece for the past several months. It has been difficult for sure, eBay, VRF and Rolexforum have seen many pass through but all at market prices - the black 9411 fetching around US$3.5-4K depending condition. Anyway, fast forward to a few weeks ago, I saw in a local pawn shop a nice little 9411 come in and I thought I would check it out... It was pretty nice - a early 1980s model with what seems a later dial (no longer made by Beylar) and with a very clean bezel. The crown was still the old 702 and the caseback had a more unique engraving font. Driven by a 2784, it was also keeping good time too. However, the acrylic crystal was a bit strange, it was a domed crystal, seemingly more like for a 1675 with the cyclops more towards the center of the dial. Putting aside the questionable crystal for one second, the other problem as usual was the price - the vendor was asking A$5.3K which equated to around the US$4-4.2K mark. Definitely on the high side and without a bracelet, it was difficult to swallow. Over the subsequent week or two, I was unfortunately drawn to it over and over again and after getting confirmation from several members of this Board that it was indeed genuine, I went back to negotiate and see if I could take it home. After some haggling, some of which I must say was quite generous of the vendor, I was offered a price too good to walk away from. Some quick pictures for now. Note that I have only swapped out the crystal for a generic 127 and have put it on a rep 93150 bracelet - will need to hunt for the genuine ones to complete this set. Overall, very happy with this piece. Welcome all comments! thanks.
