I agree Andy, you've got to set a budget and try to live with it! I guess that's what I liked about my PT 1665- decent watch for around $400 w/ the mods, which I did myself, and it's WR to boot.

Andy, marsupilami is doing, or did a batch of the 702 tubes and he's over in the EU- Germany. They were in the $30-35 range as I recall. Moelarrycu- Mark Greenberg- on ebay has the 702 crowns for $69-79 from time to time. So you could put together a 702 crown and tube setup for a little over $100. Kinda like the PMWF insert and Ofrei pearl- another $100! But I bought a used 5513 service insert from Italy for $80- keep your eyes peeled on the VRF market. Watch looks good!

RM88 is correct, it looks like you have a gen SD insert which is around 1mm smaller than the Sub insert. Also, the 14060 sub insert is smaller- don't know if it and the SD inserts are the same or not. They both take a smaller crystal than the gen sub- the 286- not the 295-C2 that goes on the 16800/16610 subs. This is where the rep mfrs kinda screw things up cause they use the std submariner sizes when making the SD and the 14060 reps. It helps to have a set of calipers so you can measure this stuff!

Well, you may be on to something RM! I have 4 gen 93150's and all have rounded ends like the pic of ubi's gen 78360. But the guy says gen Rolex... might ask him where it came from. All of my bracelets are pre-2000, 3 of the 4 are 70's and early 80's. The 4th may have a 98-99 clasp and also be 80's- I just don't know!

Bummer! They charge way too much for an asian eta 3156, but I guess that's the way it is. You can hassle with sending it back or find a watchmaker who will work on it. To figure out what's wrong will require uncasing the movement and a certain amount of disassembly. Doesn't sound like a simple fix from what you describe. Good luck.

It's either gen or a decent copy. Definitely gen like construction.

It sure would be nice if we could get gen Rolex parts at a reasonable price! I've got similar issues with my ETZ V3 16610. I put a gen crystal retaining ring on and the ETZ/MBW bezel, put it's pretty loose- prone to popping off. I bid on a gen 16610 bezel (same as the 16800, of course) last week but the price got up to $150 or so. I tried the bcwatchparts bezel but it was too tight. Haven't tried sanding the inside down yet. On my beater gen 16800 one day, I hit the corner of the desk or something like that- the bezel popped of, lost the click spring. Went to my watchmaker and got a click spring for $8. Next thought is take the bezel off and go to the Rolex AD and say it popped off, fell in the water and I need a new one. Bezel, insert, click spring and a tension washer- what would it cost? Can I afford it? Raped by Rolex again- RBRA! But the gen bezel fit very well on my ETZ 16610 w/ the gen retaining crystal- oh to be able to access gen parts.

Kinda unfortunate! Lately some of these Yuki cases haven't been measuring up.

Fooled me! I thought it was a gen. Of course the insert is gen, cg's look excellent, crown is wide, dial is fine... If I didn't own so many other subs, I'd get a WM9! But the only sub I really yearn for at this point is the R serial 16610- gen of course.

Never seen a butterfly rotor on a 1570 movement. With a decent dial and good set of hands, you could have a nice watch!

Everything looks fine to me. The 93150 links have a flat top '3' in 93150- the rep makers haven't caught on to that yet! The end links are also correct as are the hollow mid-links. Price is decent, but it's somewhat short- w/ end pieces and a clasp it's probably less tha 6-1/2"- w/ case it would be tight on a 7-1/2" wrist.

It's a beautiful job LH, and I can look at small details, but like someone else said, it's still a beautiful dial and a great job. Wear it in good health and put some age on it!

Just back from a no-internet vacation up in the north woods of Minnesota and catching up on my reading! This looks great, JB! I even have a set of eta pointed hands (from a rep 6694) that I'll drop in the mail- they should be perfect. It's cool to know that the 2824 fits in that case!

Nice collection, JB! I'd love to see a close up of the last two- the OP and the AK w/ the silver dial. That OP looks like a silver dial fading to beige- common in those old Rolexes.

The rehaut looks decent, pearl looks chinese, bezel insert is the older type (which is fine, look at the boxy 4). Cg's could definitely use a trim and the lugholes are a plus for people going for the more vintage look. I'd guess it's a CN model, rehaut doesn't look deep enough to be a TW Best. Serial number would help, and if it were an MBW, it would have the Monarch Polfy and Polex Design on it. Being older, if it has an eta, it will be Swiss! Lugholes disappeared before the clones arrived!

That dial is fine. Other than the ding on the 'u' in Superlative which is damage just like on the lume. The 'Swiss-T<25' is just like another dial I looked at on the bay. Even though this dial was produced until 1999 or so, I agree with it being late 80's, early 90's due to its condition, although abuse can happen at anytime!

Nice find, Chi! Although it's a tritium dial, I would think going back with C-1 super luminova would give the best lume. Of course, now you need a case, movement and set of hands to complete the deal. Good luck, look forward to seeing the results!

JMB and I have concluded that plastic crystals do vary! And of course, finding Rolex info on sizes is tough at best. SternKruz is decent about giving ID and OD of crystals, G-S, Germanov-Simon, in NY state gives only OD, as I recall. Clark's has good prices and Ofrei is OK if you order a couple- if they carry the T-22. CousinsUK is also a good source. I guess you order up $20-30 worth of crystals and hope something fits. Also, there's a T-38 maybe which fits on a DJ case w/o a cyclops, as I recall. The case looks nice, which movement were you going to fit in there?
