thanks for the heads up -- i'm actually exploring building a 6538 and this is perfect information for that. i have a couple other options i'm looking into now, and will try to remember to make a post in the rolex forum with a summary of my findings once i figure out the best options / sources for 8mm brevet crowns. as for the modern bond watch, i'm thinking i will go with the DSSD crown to keep the watch with all "modern" parts deltatahoe

not to worry, if you sent something back on your qc check it will certainly take several days to get it sorted out. if it is a known dealer on here you have nothing to worry about. just think, if you didn't have qc pics, you would probably have the watch by now, but you would have had a bad screw on your bezel and would be weighing the cost/time to ship it back to china or just deal with it as for getting pics of "not the same watch", i haven't experienced that (although i've only ordered a couple reps since the new qc procedures have been put in place). hope this helps, deltatahoe

indeed you did deltatahoe @teejay, i'm not sure if it is the picture or the dial print. i suspect it is probably the print -- apparently the comex logo was silk-screened onto the dial. i'll check later and post back with an answer.

no, ziggy just relumed the hands on this one. i bought the dial with the COMEX logo already completed -- someone here on RWG had the logo silk-screened onto a genuine 5513 dial deltatahoe

i'm glad you mentioned it ubi -- i originally planned to do just that, but figured i would see how the ceramic sub crown looked first, and honestly -- i kinda just forgot about it. back when i started planning for this project a while back i think i remember that ND trading offers an 8mm crown, but it is still $200. any idea where i could pick up one for cheaper? i remember someone saying DSN may stock them; perhaps it is time to shoot him an email another thing i'm considering is putting it on a black and grey nato as well oh, and thanks for the nice comments on both watches deltatahoe

couldn't agree more. before putting my DSSD on a nato, i rarely wore it -- it just felt too top heavy. it is a totally different watch on the nato -- sporty and functional. i got my nato from maratac. deltatahoe

i've noticed a bit of a change too, with people generally being less interested in posting in threads about anything but top notch uber-expensive projects or the newest 95%+ super rep. admittedly i'm busier these days and have less time to contribute / participate in discussions, so i can't blame folks. but i was a little surprised when i started two threads about a couple different projects i've been working on (one with two rolex projects, and one with a custom panerai), and got less than 10 replies between the two threads i feel like back in the day threads like that would have generated a bit more interest. or maybe my projects are just kinda boring anyways, like pizzanooo said, here's to focusing on the now deltatahoe

honestly i'm not sure i'm going to be much help on which DSSD. do a quick search and i'm guessing you'll find 10 threads discussing the different versions however, i do seem to remember several folks really liking a non-cartel version that was a bit cheaper than the ultimate (you can click on this thread started by plaifender that has a bunch of discussion about it). fwiw, mine is an ultimate with correct new bezel insert that i picked up second hand off the boards deltatahoe

it will certainly be worth the wait. i just put my DSSD on a 22mm zulu nato this weekend and it barely left my wrist. the watch feels much more secure than when on the bracelet (personally i feel the DSSD feels completely out of balance and top heavy on the bracelet) -- it is a whole new watch on the nato. wish i had it at work with me -- i'd take a snap of it for you. i'll try to remember to take a pic of it today when i get home all the best, deltatahoe

yeah when i check my order status it takes me to the "order details" page, where it just has a picture of the ipad and says the name apple -- no other details deltatahoe
