any new developments? did the hi-res pics of quarks' genuine dial turn out to be of use? if so, anybody send the pics to pugwash to see if he could make out the font? it seems i have more questions than answers, but figured i would give the topic a bump... dt

i'll cast a vote for adding a chat function.

i'd have to say... 1) breitling navitimer on black BOB strap (pic borrowed from andreww) 2) pam 111h on BOB cashmere (pic borrowed from v) 3) pam 183 black seal on watch boys black/black alligator strap (pic borrowed from watch boys) and a close fourth... 4) pam 217 on europelli black shell cordovan with copper stitching (pic borrowed from subzero1) dt

fyi, i just got josh's new santos 100, and the dial DOES have waves on it. to be honest, i didn't even notice the waves before i ordered it...such is life collecting reps. i guess now i'll just have to wait till we can source the accurate dial -- many thanks to halley for leading the charge on that front. brad

Stay Away From This Strap At........
deltatahoe replied to Defender110's topic in General Discussion
if you're looking for a good breitling strap (and a good value for that matter), check out BOB straps. there is a recent review here. dt -
hi there, not to throw another point of comparison in there, but joshua just released an updated version of the santos 100 (with an updated case and clasp). you can see his version here; note that it is actually 42mm, not 38mm as listed on his site. anyways, hope this helps. dt
-
i have the same strap, and can't say enough about the combo -- navitimers were meant to be worn on BOB straps. so soft and comfortable; the leather is top notch. the black strap w/ white stitching makes the navitimer a really classy looking watch. dt

joshua has a tt santos 100 w/ eta movement (w/ new updated case & clasp no less)... http://perfect-clones.com/cars10006-santos...del-p-1279.html you should confirm with him that it is 42mm (the larger version) though -- his website says 38 mm (but bres3000 said joshua told him it was mislabeled). dt

if we're starting a list, i'd be a buyer at $40...

delta = where the sacramento river meets the san francisco bay tahoe = lake tahoe both good for outdoor recreation. delta in the summer (wakeboarding) and tahoe in the winter (snowboarding). dt

in my mind it depends on the watch. some watches just look better one way or the other. for instance, i think my breitling navitimer looks 2x classier on a strap, while i can't really imagine wearing my sub/po on anything but a bracelet. most pams look good on both, which is another testament to their strange, addicting appeal... dt

Just Curious... What Other Pam Models Do You Guys Want???
deltatahoe replied to trustywatchguy's topic in General Discussion
ryyannon nailed it right on the head. vintage pams w/ removable lugs (hopefully improved upon from the 183 removable lugs, which have their issues) and a 45mm radiomir style case with display back. @trusty, great idea querying about this... dt -

@ubiquitous, love that cartier....any of our dealers carry it? i've checked joshua & trusty to no avail...

for comparison purposes (and determining good relative value on ebay), a new genuine cartier strap costs about $190 for calf and $290 for alligator... brad

i'm pretty positive that there is a 38mm genuine version -- if you go to cartier's website, they offer the santos 100 in both a 'medium' size and an 'extra large' size. after a quick google search, i found the 38mm on overstock.com of all places: http://www.overstock.com/sm-cartier-santos...5_ti-82124.html dt

so i've been eyeing the cartier santos 100; i like it because i think the white dial makes for a dressy watch. there has been lots of discussion about the xlarge 44mm size santos 100 (including flaws such as swiss made spacing, clasp problems, strap quality, etc), but i just noticed that joshua is offering the medium 38mm size santos 100 with the correct swiss made spacing and a new clasp. i have somewhat smaller wrists, and i'm thinking the 38mm size might actually lend itself to being a dressier watch than the 44mm size. any thoughts? anybody pulled the trigger on the new 38mm version yet? if so, pictures and/or comments about the size, strap quality, etc would be great... dt
-
@lollipop, great looking dress watch. i agree w/ craytonic, cartiers are underrated here. a couple questions: which size santos 100 is this? joshua has an updated 38 mm (w/ correct swiss made & new clasp, etc), but trusty & others have a 44 mm...on the same note, what are the measurements of the gen strap at the lugs? given the low quality rep strap & lack of quality non-genuine straps for cartier, i think the genuine strap is definitely the way to go with cartier... dt

i saw robin williams the other day and quickly realized he was wearing a panerai; i got a pretty good look at it, and i think it was a 212. it was a black chronograph with an engraved bezel, so i guess it could have also been a 196 or 250. btw, he was wearing it on a rubber panerai strap. beautiful watch. anyone else seen any celebrities sporting panerais? dt

@ star, i like your win-win-win conflict resolution skills - michael from 'the office' would be proud. oh yeah, and bump. dt

Panerai 212 With Various Straps Of My Collection
deltatahoe replied to V's topic in The Panerai Area
i seem to be the only one so far that prefers the black bob vertigo. beautiful strap -- love the dark stitching (white stitching has too much contrast IMO). i'm not seeing the black vertigo buffalo on bob's website -- any chance you would part with yours? pm me if interested in selling. thanks, dt -
thanks shultz! good to know; i will now end my quest for the titanium buckle. now for the (obvious) next question -- anyone know where to get a leather breitling band with a brushed stainless steel buckle / deployment clasp? thanks, dt

i've currently eyeing the breitling chrono avenger (titanium), and have a couple questions (i posted this in the noob section a week or so ago, but didn't get much of a response): 1) anyone know where to get a leather strap w/ a titanium buckle to match the titanium watch? i think the watch looks very classy on a leather strap (see oliver's pics for perfect example), but don't want the standard breitling ss buckle w/ a titanium watch. 2) anyone know of a legit dealer that has this watch in swiss movement? king's website had one, but she responded saying the factory has stopped making it. yodaddynukka mentioned eddie carries one, but is apparently asking big $$'s. 3) what are peoples thoughts on white vs. black? i have several black dial watches & would like a white dial watch to change things up; chrono avenger white dial looks like it might fill that niche nicely. looking forward to hearing everyone's two cents... dt

this is pretty entertaining. it's six minutes long, but worth every second. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIeIWkK0t4s enjoy. DT
