  1. well thought out post jumbie...i don't think you've offended anyone here. however, i'm guessing very few people here have had many experiences with TWA (to be honest your post was the first time i had ever heard of such a seller), so you'll probably get fewer responses than over on RWI. who knows, maybe i'm wrong. one thing i do know, pictures of the advertised product would be helpful....i think you'll find people here on RWG (particularly the PAM experts) are most helpful in pointing out the weak and strong points of a particular watch if that is the advice you're looking for.... deltatahoe
  2. i feel like this has happened a lot more lately too....kind of bizarre, especially for those of us who aren't members of RWI. deltatahoe
  3. i feel like i see a bunch of wrist shots where people wear their watches all the way down at the bottom of their wrist, which generally results in the crown (or crown guard in the case of pams) jamming into the back of your hand. personally, i've never understood why people wear their watches like this -- it seems so uncomfortable. so i figured i'd start a poll to see where people here on RWG wear their watches on their wrists; i also figured i would include a poll about how how tight people wear their watches given it is a related topic. here are a couple pictures to demonstrate what i'm talking about.... at the bottom of the wrist: further up the arm (man my wrist looks pale -- good thing summer is here): deltatahoe ps, thanks to cableguy for his wrist shot as an example (@cableguy, PM me if you'd like me to change it)....
  4. i'm no rolex gmt expert, but the dial print looks better than some other mbw gmt dials i've seen discussed on here before (rolex is the correct size). boy do i feel like a noob
  5. i was able to track down a mario paci xi papaya brown in 26/24, so it's on the way, along with the pam 232 from davidsen i'll post some pics when the combination is complete many thanks rolli and dluddy for helping push me over the edge on this one, and a special thanks to rolli for pointing out the correct shorter length of the hands (now let's just hope davidsen gets it right when putting mine together ) deltatahoe
  6. i was thinking the same thing (the mp xi papaya brown comes in 26/24 size as well) -- i had a 26/26 strap on my 183 once and it was much too big
  7. that would be great. what do you think about the mp xi papaya brown in general? i feel like i remember someone saying they felt like it was one of their favorite mp straps... thanks again, deltatahoe
  8. this is good information guys i was about to order this watch from davidsen with the longer 127 hands.... @dluddy, i've been eyeing a couple of those strap culture handmade straps myself....they look nice, huh? if you decide to go for it and want to sell the cammello, let me know. however, i think the mp xi papaya brown strap (see pic below) might just be the perfect strap for this watch....i'm trying to track one down now... deltatahoe
  9. that's what i'm concerned about.....i like the way dluddly's 232 looks like on a similar colored tan strap (GeF cammello) though....
  10. well spoken rolli -- i think your statement sums up nicely why on earth we could want so many different watches btw, i'm thinking about possibly pairing this watch with a MF 1942 strap....what do you think of this potential combo? i ask because you always have good taste in nice straps deltatahoe
  11. i've been working too hard too ubi....didn't have the wits about me to decide upon a new watch today, so it was back to old faithful (my 112h) on mario paci ambra tan (which, by the way, has obtained a nice patina all of a sudden)....i need to take some new pics with this combo tomorrow, i'm going big -- my pam 187 on shell cordovan vintage caramel... PAM warning for stephane -- cover your eyes my 187 has recently returned from a trip to ziggy superlumed & with a double AR coating from chieftang (no new pictures of this one yet either). deltatahoe
  12. to be honest, i have no idea (even after being around for year, i'm still a noob ).... i just know that the people who have received the old version (with asian 21j movement) have felt like it was good value, especially given they have fixed the datewheel color.... deltatahoe
  13. really nice group shot tutima i'm finding iwc's are just as addicting as other brands. i may have to break down and get a ss ingenieur at some point.... deltatahoe
  14. everyone who has the steelfish seems to think it is a great watch; i haven't heard anyone complaining about it in terms of value either.... with an ETA movement, sapphire crystal with quality AR, from what i've heard this watch has a genuine feel to it at 25% of your used price....we're still talking a $1,000 difference between the rep and your used gen... most of the other so called super reps (big bang, bce, costeau divers, etc) are watches that cost $5k+ for gens.... just my thoughts... deltatahoe
  15. this is exactly the combination i have; they are definitely compatible. great combination -- perfect for summer. you should read this thread about getting the strap to fit the case properly -- you will need 1.8mm springbars. deltatahoe
  16. you just need to let me know what type (and quantity) of wheels you need; pugwash is going to order them and ship them to me (to save even more on shipping); then i'll ship to those in the states... which wheels are you interested in getting? deltatahoe
  17. i can't speak for lello's DW, but my finepics DW for the 2893 also worked with the 2836....you can see his post about it here.... deltatahoe
  18. maybe i wasn't clear....i was just wondering if the light AR coating that doc mentioned is on the 187 crystal may have interacted with the new coating in a strange way, which could potentially explain the non-uniform coating that my 187 crystal received. for the record, i'm still happy with the AR coating -- it looks awesome on the 187.....i just had some bad luck (as the only person out of 90 to have an issue with scratches on the AR coating).... life is good -- what's a couple scratches to spoil things? deltatahoe
  19. and an asian chopard gt xl (they now have the correct black datewheels) for $108 too....and you still have $$ to go around. until the big bang, costeau diver or steelfish starts calling your name. jaaaawwwoooooo deltatahoe
  20. you're in big trouble stephane don't do it!!!.....must....resist....buying....panerai....watches!!!
  21. this is interesting....chieftang, you think this could explain the issues i had with my 187 crystal? i know there have been previous 187 crystals coated without incidence, but mine came out with some strange things going on with the coating (it's hard to describe).....so i might suggest having someone 'strip' your 187 crystal before getting it coated. EDIT: to change my description of the issues i had with the coating.... deltatahoe
  22. this is my first time reading this thread, and i have to say -- very impressive despite all the hard work and money spent, it must feel really good to build a house from scratch! good luck seeing it through to completion deltatahoe
  23. just saw this thread for some reason.....i'm wearing my 112h on mp ambra tan today. i don't have any pictures of this combo and my camera is at home (unfortunately, i'm still at work ). tomorrow i think i'll wear my speedy moon watch on velcro: deltatahoe
  24. i've haven't had true "buyers remorse" on any of my purchases, but i have found that i have loved some watches less than others. i try to give the less loved watches a fair chance though -- i'll wear them occasionally to see if i change my mind about them. in the end, if i don't like them enough to give them the wrist time they deserve, i'll sell them on the trading board. just my experience.... deltatahoe
