  1. Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
  2. There was someone working on this but no news at the moment as far as I can tell... hoping they will be able to get one made to the right specifications and dimensions. Search this section for the thread, I'm sure you'll find it easily enough.
  3. No, it had writing stretching from 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock going through the centre where the hands would be fixed.
  4. Ken you should try chicken korma.... absolutely no spices in that... very tasty, only problem for everyone else is the best version of that is made by my mother! There is also a restaurant in north Finchley in London called 2km that has a great starter which is chicken something... but it is cooked in butter I think and the meat is so soft and tender and tasty! They also do mixed grills there and the fish tikka is ok too. I don't normally have fish so that's saying something! Anyway I love spicy (hot) food as well as tasty food
  5. Today I was on Finchley Road in London and was going to Swiss Cottage tube station and saw a blonde Eastern European beauty sporting an oversized watch on her small wrist. I had on a PAM036 and this one looked much bigger, maybe even closer to 49mm! Looked very oversized but somehow it worked. The watch looked like a typical fashion watch in any old store though with large writing across the centre of the dial. No idea what it is. Anyway, more girls are wearing big watches now? Size matters? Ooooou
  6. y the way "Ferry Across the Mersey" is about Merseyside which is in the north-west... where Liverpool (my team) are !
  7. Lamb Biryani? Not spicy enough for me. If you can handle real spices and chillis (I have been known to chop up 12 chillis and put it in my food if I find it really bad) then go to Brick Lane, and have a lamb Phal... that's the hottest I ever had outside of home, and even had me taking a breath before the next spoonful But I'd love to go back there and have more As for sights to see, what do you want to see? I live in London so you can ask me if you like. If you are a sporting fan, you may want to see the new Wembley stadium (still under construction) or the newly finished Arsenal stadium (Arsenal station is closed, so you have to walk from Finsbury Park or Holloway station on the Picadilly line - this is on the tube). London Eye is worth seeing, so is the aquarium if you like that. Albert Hall is in South Kensington along with the Victoria & Albert Museum, Natural History Museum, and Science Museum. One of the best kebab shops in London is also there, it's cramped to eat in but cheap at 6 pounds for a large mixed grill with a coke. The name is Bosphorus and near to the tube station. Knightsbridge is just down from there so you could go to see Harrods, a lot of tourists seem to do that, and if you want, get some dental work done by our very own finepics Covent Garden is also a place tourists like to go, and you may also want to go and see some of the bridges like Tower Bridge and London Bridge. The Houses of Parliament and Big Ben (the clock) are nearby if I recall correctly. If you have time go see the Tower of London, and if you end up in East London, you may want to pay for a pub tour of where Jack The Ripper committed his murders. Eating and so on, try Pasha, a Turkish Kebab Restaurant in Angel Islington, the food is nice enough there. Try Argentinian beef at Gaucho Grill. I think there are quite a few around but go to Hampstead, and it's right by the station. Japanese Kobe beef can be found at Woolfe's which is near to Covent Garden station I think. You can find all types of food around the world here. If you like Chinese food, the obvious place is Chinatown (Leicester Square tube station). I don't know if they are still like that, but Wong Kei's was always infamous for their rude service (cutlery being thrown at you?) but decent enough and cheaply priced food. If you like clubs and dont want to look around, go somewhere like Onanon which is near Picadilly Circus tube station and is free before 9.30 or 10 and has 3 floors so hopefully you will find something you like. Leicester Square is just down from there and has lots of commercial clubs too. There are quite a few clubs that operate on guest list only that you can book for free over the internet. Hope that helps a little!
  8. Sometimes, you just never know...!
  9. I was wearing mine at work the past couple of days, and it's great for going to the cinema. While superluminova's glow fades after prolonged exposure to darkness, the tritium gas does not, and you can always read the time very clearly
  10. lasik at home is a spoof (joke) website
  11. Thanks for the info Gerco. That's why I'm going around the top clinics I can find and see how I feel about the place. There is a new version using a femtosecond laser that does not have a blade touching your eye at all. I think this should be much more accurate (and so far, procedures done with this seem to bear this out) but costs more. I'll find out more on Saturday.
  12. I know this is off-topic, but it is something I am considering and of course, we all need our eyes to look at our watches, and if I lost my eyesight, I'd be gone from the boards ! I'd like to hear advice from those in the medical profession and people who have had it done, or just stories of other people who have had it done. I know one person on here who had it done and says it's great. I know a couple of other people round here who did it and also say it's great. The way I figure it, at my age (late 20s), it shouldn't be until my 40s that I may need reading glasses, so economically this will save me money in the next 10-15 years, as opposed to spending so much on soft torric contact lenses and glasses. Current prescription is Left: SPH -3.25; CYL -1.75; AX 180 Right: SPH -3.25; CYL -2.25; AX 160 I've also been given this link by someone for better vision without surgery, but am not sure how genuine this is, or if it is viable... any experience is welcome! http://www.program-for-better-vision.com/l...CFQSICwodAVDhOg So far I hve been to 2 clinics, both of which vary in price but both say my eyes should be fine for LASIK surgery. I am going to another clinic on Saturday for another consultation. I've read through a lot of information, good and bad, and am thinking of whether to go ahead. FDA Lasik Eye Surgery website
  13. I like these 2 dial ones, but it can't time anything after 30 mins So I went and got the 3 dial version of this watch. Both are great
  14. Definitely a new CDG movement ... just like the engraved movement with the fat pointer for the swan neck.
  15. Waiting on this new case. Maybe I can see a picture soon!
  16. I think higher end manufacturers like Breguet, FP Journe, Patek Philippe, AP etc etc make their own high quality movements in-house, and are probably worth considering. Don't forget Rolex, as they (I believe) made the first mass-marketed self-winding automatic movement, which has historical significance.
  17. It's a secret terrorist plot to poison you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. In which case Zenith-based PAMs will be rarer, possibly worth buying as a store of value ?
  19. I've had the same problem, and have switched to titanium for the summer... http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;hl=done+with
  20. Even though RG has never done any work for me, I get the feeling that I agree. Just hoping September rolls by so he can take on some work from me
  21. They are good dealers.. I tend to get most of my stuff through them, so I can definitely recommend them. Ask them if they can go on chat and maybe you can get a time sorted out perhaps?
  22. You are right about the photography... maybe I need to give it a shot
