  1. Zenith is a tougher one to replicate it seems. No point getting an El Primero rep, as part of the reason for getting that is the actual movement itself, in my opinion.
  2. Not for me (not that I can afford it anyway!) but I'd like to see if it still looks good "in the flesh" so-to-speak.
  3. That was a limp wristed girly throw. Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
  4. Which country are Invicta from? Are they Japanese?
  5. Tritium doesn't glow as brightly as SuperLuminova, but it does last. SL fades over time, and you will find the tritium is brighter than the SL after some time. If I go to a movie theatre, the SL has usually faded by the end of the movie, but the tritium is constant and immediately recognizeable. That's why the PAM subs use tritium, as the glow will not fade for 20 years or so.
  6. Good luck, I'd love to see pictures of this particular watch. I have a SMP at Omega Service Centre since before the summer. Haven't been able to pay the charge to get it back, I just hope they don't start charging a storage fee like Breitling do! Oh yeah, best to email me (use the email link in profile), as I can't seem to archive PMs.
  7. Apart from the trade, good luck with your studies!!
  8. Look at those amazing subdials with day, date etc http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Omega-Speedmaster-Au...1QQcmdZViewItem
  9. Congrats, V You must be getting deja vu going through it twice!
  10. Thanks to everyone who has contributed. There are new developments coming along, but it will take years for them to be accepted. Lasik is around 20 years old, and as this thread demonstrates, it does not have universal acceptance yet. I am still undecided but go for a consultation on Monday. Should be straightforward, and this company offers 3 years interest free credit which will help, but is also the most expensive of the 4 I am looking at (by almost $2000)!
  11. Stop the presses: A Norwegian hates winter shock !
  12. His current email is used on his Dealer Section ads I believe.
  13. I see lots of Speedmasters with the 3, 6, 9 configuration, but who has the (what I think) more easily repped version with 6, 9, 12 dial configuration? I had a look around Andrew's and Joshua's site, but they don't have it...
  14. Panerai Submersibles have a depth rating of 1000m (PAM187, Slytechs, PAM064) to 2500 (PAM194). There is much less light down at those depths. R*l*x subs have a much lower rating. I think it's somewhere between 200-300m (can't remember which offhand). The Seadweller has a greater rating but doesn't get close to the PAM194. There is a safer method of using tritium lately. The H3 Tritium Gas tubes that RXW and Ball use are US military specifications and will glow for 20 years or so.
  15. As they say, different strokes for different folks.
  16. No idea but you will be out of luck with r*l*x... as far as I know they don't make watches in titanium. There are fewer and fewer Men's reps in titanium, with the Breitling Avenger Seawolf, IWC GST Chrono and the PAM192 being phased out... leaving just the PAM036, PAM172, PAM176, PAM177 and the Breitling Chrono Avenger that I know of. Good luck in your search, sorry I couldn't help you.
  17. Friday: Zenith Rainbow El Primero on blue lizardskin strap Saturday: RXW Plasmir Milgraph / R*l*x Yachtmaster Sunday: undecided as yet.
  18. Good info on the gold. In a solid gold watch, would the gold still rub off at the same rate, rendering the case thinner eventually ?
  19. It's just a joke from someone who was bored at the time... RWG has been a little slow the last couple of days...
  20. Apparently DW may be selling cases on eBay. Do a search as I don't really know much about this, just what I've read on occasion.
  21. Always liked the AP RO, so no problems there Enjoy it! Now one that DID grow on me is Panerai... when I first came to see reps, I saw everyone was PAM crazy and couldn't understand it... until I got one myself.
