Thanks TT, hate to see this happen. I do know that this community, members and admin alike did everything they could to give Asim the benefet of the doubt. I feel bad for those left high and dry, best wishes to everyone Involved Mike
Everything I know about watches I learned here, this Is some of It. It's more about the movement for me now. There are many nice quartz designs out there for around $200-300.00. If I just wanted a cool looking watch with some neat complications I would buy one of these nice looking quartz watches, sometimes I do just that. My favorite movement Is the 7750 123. I love these movements because I perfer chronos and automatices. But they are very expensive, even more so when In a well designed and executed timepiece. It Is nice to wear a watch that looks like It may have cost thousands of dollars. But the more Im around here It becomes only 1/2 the reason If that of why i like reps. I like the way they operate and feel. I can purchase a $300.00 rep that looks and moves just like a $5000.00 watch. Maybe not 100% but close. Thats why I buy reps. If they were not of good quailty with crapy movements I would not be here, would any of us? I give the Chinese factories nothing but credit for the reps that they build. Some are better than others but overall they are very good and In some cases very close to the gen. Now tell me, how can you beat that? Mike (ps) I expect them to be of decent quality and for the most part they are that or better.
Thats a good looking watch to be sure, a lot better looking than that ring just kidding I see hints of IWC In the watch, Is that just me or was that Intentional? Mike
If 60mm Is to big, and It Is for me. Then you might want to try the breitling SA @48mm or some of the U Boats, around 45mm-52mm. I think the Flight Deck Is there biggest. Just to name a few. Mike
Welcome to RWG Mark One of my favorite watches Is the Omega PO chrono, orange bezel. So when I got here over a year ago this Is the first rep i orderd. I got the quartz version. It really looked good but after some time had passed I longed for the automatic version. The gen Omega PO does not come In a quartz so I never really felt comfortable wearing It. Thats just me, some members dont mind the quartz. I did not do any research nor did i ask any questions. It was a shame really because RWG has some of the best, If not the best Information available, rep or gen. There are some very good reviews on the Omega Po chrono, so take your time and enjoy. If you do decide to purchase the PO make sure you get the "updated version" with the correct sub dial spacing. Mike
Im waiting on the yellow, somthing about that yellow dial. The grey Is also very nice. I feel that these are some of the best built reps around, very nice Indeed. Did you get yours from Tony Micky? Mike
I was having a problem with my RW nabucco about nine months ago. Offshore recomended the same advice as Andy. I was a little apperhensive at first but It Indeed worked. The watch was running about 60 sec fast every hour. The watch now runs around +5-7 per day, good advice. Mike
There are some good reviews In the "other dealers " section. I use tony @ Asian7750. When I dont use him I stick with Josh @Perfect-Hour(perfect clones). We have many reviews, take advantage of them Mike (ps) Rule of thunb, If you dont see good reviews of a rep dealer here than stay ,good luck
Welcome to RWG, I also have been very Impressed with some of are reps. They do seem to get better and better. How good will they get?, I guess we will have to stick around and find out. Mike
To bad the DW Is not at the three, oh well. I dont think this is a very good rep, It's just ok Imho. I do like some reps that are not that accurate, this Is one of them. I think the watch Is a good looking timepieces on It's own. I really like that maroone or wine colored dial, very nice Indeed. Mike
I know there a few three hand gens that use this movement.Like Toad said "they are cheep when purchased In high volum". They are also considerd a very robust movement. Since 1974 this has been the go to movement for many thousands of high end timepices. They are reliable and they can be very accurate when properly regulated. They were designed for complications but they also can be a good movement for the standard three hand when all things are considerd and everything else being equal. Mike
I want to apolojize for my misinformed post. I said earlier that Rolex did not make a quartz movement, well It looks like they did at one time. The Oysterquartz was a Rolex developed movement that they used from the 70's-90's. I knew nothing about this movement. It was said to have had a Pulse motor that engaged the Pallet fork, To my understanding It had a somewhat smooth sweeping sec hand. Im sorry but I dont know that much about movements and can not elaborate. This movement was only used In 2% of Rolexs, again sorry for the misinformation Mike (ps) just read the post above
I have a quartz Hublot BB as you described. Im not fond of wearing It because of that dam second hand, But your right about the quality, If I could I would drop a 7750 In It In a heart beat, alas the sub dial configuration Is off I still like the watch for the reasons you stated, fantastic quality, real ceramic bezel, saphire crystal. The rubber strap Is so gen like It's scarry Mike
