  1. I think the NATO strap looks cool...I bought one off the Bay (007) and find it the most uncomfortable strap in the history of creation.
  2. You will be fine...You will get your piece. The only problem with Paul is quality. I've got some nice stuff from him and I've got some real junk... It's the chance you take...and the priece reflects it. Let us know how you make out!
  3. I had the same problem several times with sub bands. I removed the band, laid it out on my vice and SLOWLY heated the stuborn area with a jewlers torch...putting heat on the link, not the screw. The heating did slightly discolor the finish but a little ScotchBright brought it right back. Every time I did find a trace of some sort of residue on the threads. You gotta love the quality control.
  4. Thanks guys! I'm going to pull the plug and go for it! I'd like to see a question answered this fast on those stuck-up gen sites...
  5. I'm officially hooked on Daytona's After much reading I'm more confused than ever... I do know that I'm liking the vintage models. Paul has several that are self winding with a rep Lemania movenet. My question for the experts is simple... is this movemt junk?
  6. A 1:1 case with correct grade stainless... I guess the idea never crossed the minds of our friends in the Far East. Are the cases going to be manufactured before or after the 1:1 movements? Gimmie a break!
  7. Agree Best bang for the buck HOWEVER, do not attemp to remove the bezel ring. These subs have a newer style bezel ring retension system. They do not "pop" off like previous models. Prying on the bezel ring will result in a bent ring and lots of woes...in other words, be happy with the crown guards
  8. Should be required reading ! Very nice stuff and done well I just wish MBW's were easier to get
  9. Maybe the Flipster should put out a detailed price list for his services How much for a complete cleaning/overhaul of an El Primero
  10. also Paul's "perfect sub"... DON'T try to remove the bezel...you will bend the [censored] out of it
  11. This is too funny I think we should have a monthly contest... ugliest, most inacurate rep imaginable
  12. Holy [censored] you ain't kidding pricey! I'll go with Davidsen! Thanks
  13. I hate dealing with Bob at Ofrie...his site gives me a headache as he does after a ferw minutes on the phone. I want to replace the hands on my Marina (115-200-28) with silver preferably. Can anyone make any suggestions
  14. I'd love to see Paula wearing nothing but a ladies Datejust...drunken [censored]
  15. I'm totally hooked no this site ...have been since day one. It gets to a point where you feel withdrawl if you don't log on. We all love watchs to one degree or another...and the rep side of it (sort of cloak and dagger) makes it even better. From choosing your dealer, picking out a watch, waiting for the postman to ripping open the package from China...ahhhhhhhhhh There are much worse things in life I guess. One thing I'd love to see, but I think we have a better chance of seeing an affordable 1:1 rep of an El Primero movement is pics of all the guys here. I'd love to be able to accsociate a face with a name but I guess the [censored] at RAF, or whatever the name of Rolexs lawfirm is, would like to also.
  16. Long before I ever found TRC and now this wonderful place I would read the posts on the genuine Rolex forums and would silently think to myself how snobby and stuck-up these folks were...genuine jerk-offs if you ask me. Back then it made me feel like a "second-class citizen" being a fan of watch repilcas. After reading lots of replies from our members regarding questions and photos of members asking about genuines they were contemplating purchasing it became clear to me...our members are more knowledable about gens than the [censored] over at the genuine forums... Hands down, without a doubt
  17. Years of collecting, reps and gens (mostly reps) I never really got into Daytonas. I thought they were cool but never enough so to pull the trigger...or even learn about them. Just resently a friend showed me a Daytona his father had left him after his death. It was a beautiful manual wind with a silver face and black sub-dials. I told him I didn't know too much about Daytona's and he should have it appraised...super nice with original inner and outer box! Paul has one with the same dial and band and I'm getting the bug...a bug that costs major bucks as I usaully go from rep or two to a gen What type of manual movement does he have in his Daytona's? He claims it is a working chrono. I'm staying away from Asian 7750's as I learned over the years to do so from the forums but my curiousity about the manual wind has got me going. Is it worth it or is it junk?
  18. I had a hell of a time removing the bezel from a "perfect Paul" sub that neeeded its bezel re-aligned. I like The Zigmeisters solution. Why the new click mechanism? It seems that our friends in China are trying to re-invent the wheel... Why oh why oh why can't they just mimic the same design Rolex uses to secure their bezels to the case? Snap in bezels and all
