  1. Dude Don't sell yourself short...Fabulous job :thumbsupsmileyani
  2. Great post! I too am a "graduate" of the TZ watch school If our membership only knew much fun and fulfilling working on movemets is ! The first thing I do when I recieve a rep from a dealer is completely disassemble and clean/relube the movement . It's a nice stress relieving process as I am in no hurry. Keep reading all of The Zigmeisters posts as he is a true craftsman

I hope it's comming soon...a 1:1 replica sub from one of our trusted dealers. A case where everything is correct...from rehault to CG's and crowns and beefier tubes.! They got the bands down pretty good though And if a 1:1 case was produced what would be the next complaint from us...better grade stainless steal? Wher does it end ? lol

I agree with WW. I think if you measure the depth of the 3035 and the ETA 2836 you will probably find the 3035 slightly thinner. That would explain the shallower rehault issue when using the ETA movement...the space has to be taken out somewhere... I might be wrong...good question for the experts here
  5. One good thing about the video... We all know what a scum-bags voice sounds like what an ass-hole!
  6. Nice post of a horrible job... Thanks for sharing with us Rob Thank God I can do all these mods myself...
  7. Interesting...lots of craftsmanship... Not my cup of tea though...just one question WHAT TIME IS IT ?
  8. I've been at this hobby for a while now...I've always loved Rolex subs and datejusts and pretty much have absorbed as much as one could about these watches. I have just resently started to have Daytonas catch my eye to the point when I have started researching movements and cases for a franken project. Ubi's Daytonas really wet my whistle Yesterday, completely by accident, while completley bored I started looking at Tudor Chrono's on the bay and fell in love with the Tiger Do any of our dealers make a rep of this watch? I know I said it the past I would never again spend crazy dough on genuine Rollies ever again but I think I'd eat my words with a Tudor Tiger (white face, red second hand)
  9. Do you guys really think the Daytona was destroyed I doubt it...I knew a guy that worked for customs a few years back...he was always sporting nice reps (as nice as they got back then) and always had great Cubans
  10. My new YM from Paul has a nice soft click and I love it I can't believe how nice the band is. It is without a doubt the nicest band I've ever seem on a rep
  11. OUCCCCCCCCCCH! Sorry to hear of your "fornication-up" You only have one shot at this ya know... Do like The Zigmeister said...one clean shot! Be careful and good luck...let us know
  12. I noticed it last night
  13. It's stainless with a white or silver face and has crown/pusher chrno thingy going on...
  14. I can't believe that you guys are Sienfeld guys... It's a Festivas miricle GiddyYapp Question: Jerry seems to wear the same watch for almost the whole series...what the heck is it?
  15. Man...I can't agree with you more! I've had headache after headache dealing with Rolex. Since 1985 I've had seven Rolies...3 brand new and the others used. The worst was a 1994 sub, brand new, leak while diving in 40 ft of salt water...a bad crystal gasket. I've sold them all with out regret over the past few years Now I can say that my collection of Rolex reps gives me NO problems. Paul and Joshua's pieces. I've learned to work movements and can repair, rebuild or swap out movements without problems. A VERY fullfilling hobby! But I can't stress enough how I'd never spend that kind of money on a gen watch again. I know a lot purists here will scoff...but a Joshua sub I modded myself with genuine tube and crown and new seals servived 210ft salt water for 22 minutes! ( I'm an avid scuba diver and put the sub in my BC pocket while taking a tri-mix check-out dive) And ya know what, these reps are only getting better and better!
  16. Nah! Not at all...just trying to be funny (not that there's anything wrong with that) lol
  17. Too funny Homo-on-the -range I always remove the stem with the stem in the winding position also...slightly, oh so slightly wigling the stem as depressing the release button. NEVER had a problem. (Walt Odets says so)
  18. Ubi is absolutely correct. There are small notches on oposite sides of the release button. These notches stop your screw-driver (1.3) from depressing the button too deep. If you do depress it too deep it will get stuck...bet on it! At that point a keyless works rebuild is in order...not a difficult repair but you have to have passed Watchmaking 101 Remember when working with movements, The Zigmeister summed it up best, "if you have to ask, you are in way over your head" Best of luck
  19. The guys are soooooooooo right! You will be very sorry.
  20. I agree with Linder... Neat looking stuff going on just not my cup o' tea. I'm also a die-hard Rolie fan with a few gens and LOT'S of reps. I am however starting to be tempted by Omega's
  21. Nice read. I like the CG side-by-side comparison. I printed them out for future reference and mods.
  22. Ubi, I look forward to your posts...you have reached a sort of level like...like...The Zigmeister with a wacky sense of humor Great stuff
