  1. Nice job. I don't wear mine nearly enough. Time to fall in love with the 1016 again
  2. I have a 1016 from trusty and had to replace the crystal. I have to tell you that trusty's case is in between two crystal sizes. One too big and the other too small. I found out after buying three crystals
  3. what areas in the architectural industry are you concentrating in? If you are wanting to work on the plum projects, the high rises, the major projects, then yeah, you'll be doing the grunt work for the senior architects and partners. If you want to do the smaller projects, the home renovations, the commercial tenant improvements, then yeah, there's lots of that out there. Dealing with the regulations of city halls is big business for these clients. Some so much that these specialists are turning away work here. Set you sights lower. Forget the glamourous lifestyle of the architect. You will not ever be a Moshe Safdie, or a Philip Johnson.
  4. yes it is. I used to have this watch and the strap has no holes, much like the Santos 100. You can size it to the exact size of your wrist. It folds back on itself and the Cartier D buckle holds it tight.
  5. yes, I believe this is an improper ar coating. I had this similar situation happen on an 3rd party AR coat done through one of the forums.
  6. fuggetabout the gs3. That paddle lever machine is way overpriced. I'd just as well settle for the R58. besides, isn't the gs3 only offered in a plumb in model? double boiler pid? go for breville 920. hah hhah (actually the 920 is pretty good, despite the name)
  7. Yes, the size is a factor when wearing it, but it is pretty much the same size as the 36mm DJ's and those get wrist time, but not this one. It just doesn't seem to get that much wrist time as my other Rollies. I still really like mine. Once considered selling it, but have since decided against it.
  8. the Compaks are good machines. Stepless iirc. Always invest in a good grinder, not just the machine. you've done well!!
  9. The 1016 was done by an RWG member quite some time ago using the waterslide decal. Another good candidate for this procedure
  10. that's sweet. One of these days. I'll sell all my frankens and get a gen.
  11. Lots have been nit picking the minutiae of the watch, Like the pearl and pearl cup, the hand sized, the deepness of the caseback engraving, the difference in lume colour between the hands and hour markers, The list goes on. Some people want perfection in a little $300 package. Those that don't get it are disappointed and hence C&R
  12. happy congrats, M thanks for all your advice and help for my builds.
  13. There are several different Bialetti's available, but I only have the Moka. Some other models of Bialettisbring out the crema much better so I'm told. I've used espresso single original beans in the Bialetti and have only gone through a couple of pounds so far on it. We've got some pretty soft water here in our neck of the woods, but I always use double filtered water in any event. Never experienced any metallic taste. Had some really bright tasting espresso with some beans which I thought were "premium" one week old beans, but other than that, no metallic tastes.
  14. what's your setup??? I've got the Giotto Evolutione and a Vario. The only upgrade I might do is to get a Mazzer, but most likely not as the Vario has impressed me more than expectations of this machine.
  15. my 9th coffee machine was the Aeropress. My tenth coffee machine was the Bialetti Moka. Both are awesome. In fact I use the $30 Bialetti to make lattes that rival my $2000 Rocket Giotto Evolutione.
  16. the movement that the OP is showing is NOT a rep. It is a genuine movement, guys!!!!!
  17. I think that watch looks fine. Ryan is indeed a good dealer at rwi
  18. yes, authentic. I have a number of vintage Omegas, including the same caliber. Very common movement.
  19. that Marzocco is a GS3, about 7K
  20. This is king of the prosumer home machines, (other than the La Marzoccos)
  21. yeah, that's a piece alright... looks like you can dive off the deep end in there with that rehaut.
  22. I always felt that the rep bracelet was pretty damn good and never warranted upgrading to a gen, especially at that price. IMHO, they were never the same league as gen Rolex bracelets.
