  1. [censored] me, I can't believe how lucky I've been today. Rushing to a meeting, parked up, jumped out the car to pay for parking (
  2. Good plan. I will keep an eye on this thread to see what the dates are!
  3. Nice, I will have to look at what's available as I could do with a beater watch...
  4. Ooh, Malmo is pretty cheap on Sleazyjet or Ryanair...
  5. If you're in the UK, there are a couple of people on telly who wear a lot of different watches. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, Dec of 'Ant and Dec', and Dara O'Brien all seem to be wearing something different every time I see them! That George architect guy on Restoration man also appears to have about 5 different B&Rs, the bastard
  6. Hey alanytical, I've tried to PM you about this but it says you can't receive PMs! Please send me a message if you get this or post to say you've cleared your inbox! Cheers!
  7. Just to confirm... which is correct? I think mine is A17320...
  8. I thought the v2 lugs were pretty spot on but I can't remember where I read it now. I also read that post from Yodap but AFAIK there are only two? (I've not read of a v3 anywhere else but that post!) I would agree that the v2 I have has slightly off lume dots but it does also have stunning AR and the pretty much perfect OR strap. I'm confused by the A173XX caseback reference by Yodap, I thought that was correct? I think it could be worth asking him to clarify where he heard there are 3 versions and what's wrong with the caseback reference...
  9. I think your title is confusing people because it soounds like there's a Hublot Big Bang version of a Breitling! lol But you are instead talking about the SOHC from the factory that makes the HBB? I think that's the v2? I can't remember for sure, you will have to wait for someone else to confirm. I do know that the v2 is virtually perfect (bar sometimes slightly off lume dots) and that it appears to be out of production at the moment in brown and black. Get the rep Ocean Racer rubber strap as it's spot on, the only issue is the clasp not closing as tightly as it should. The mesh is too big and the leather is... alright... Also, order off Mary and get a swiss movement as the Asian ETA clone suffers difficulty setting the time and date (covered in a thread in the Breitling forum already), but it's not bad if you can't stretch to ther extra money. I have both and would go swiss in the future!
  10. Are you referring to the Parnis homages? There's already plenty of those on there! The sterile/MM stuff that Tse/Tat sell is nice but probably too expensive to really make a profit on. Plus, any MM or Panerai homages are pretty swiftly pulled off ebay as Panerai launched some legal case against the name MM being used, IIRC?
  11. lol @ Zigmeister Damn you, Ubi - you have excellent taste and (annoyingly ) the wallet to match!
  12. Double post, stupid computer!
  13. Or find someone doing submersible work and strap it to the side of the mini-sub
  14. Awesome, thanks for the tutorial
  15. I think this might be where RA is doing it differently. I hope he doesn't mind me posting the pic but this is the picture he has used to illustrate the process: So he is modifying the bezel to enable an untrimmed gen insert to fit, rather than trimming the gen insert to enable it to fit into the existing bezel. As he says, he is doing this by hand with a dremel and grinding tools! so I understand that this may mean tolerances aren't as tight as they might be. I imagine that more practice will yield a better result though, but I will wait for him to respond to the thread and express his own thoughts I couldn't possibly comment... LoL
  16. New arrival from triplehd here (apologies for the poor phone picture!)
  17. Thanks for your input on this, Zigmeister You're saying that either less glue should have been used (potentially dangerous! lol) or more material should have been taken out from underneath the insert to make it level with the bezel, and that the 'hole' for the insert was cut a bit too wide? It's not a bad job seeing as it was done all by hand but I'm sure RA won't be averse to constructive feedback for future ones!
  18. Damn you, AD Soon I will be even, sooooooon...
  19. Thanks for this post, I just had to refer to it for my new arrival it works a treat! There's definitely a difference between the swiss version I had already and this one, though - but if it's just a case of sorting a new stem then that shouldn't be too hard a fix
  20. Don't buy from him, they go for way more than they do from other (hong kong/china based) ebay sellers!! I've got both the black and the white dial and I'm very impressed with them. They feel solid, not at all cheap, and they are pretty smooth sweeping for what they are. The lume is pretty good too, although clearly still rep lume. No issues with the GMT hand either so far. I had wondered about doing the dial swap myself but, tbh, I think they look great as they are, plus being sterile means you never have any call out worries
  21. That is quite young, but plenty of people do it! I think you might find it better to rent your own place together - it can bring you together as you decide on decorating ideas and arranging furniture! (but it can also annoy you both if you have different ideas! ) Living with other people is annoying, especially when you two just want your own space to do what you want. You can't exactly stroll from the bedroom naked to get a drink after you've been, er, 'having a cuddle' if you have someone else living there! If you only see each other in the evenings and weekends then that's just like any other relationship so shouldn't be a problem. as long as you both take time to go out on your own and be your own person once in a while, you shouldn't annoy each other or end up with nothing to talk about Start off with just a 6 month renting period - that will fly by but be long enough to work out if you can't stand each other really!
