  1. Cool, thanks for the pics I see what you mean about the yellow, it's quite prominent in the last two shots. Hopefully someone who's got a bit more experience than me will be able to comment! I reckon this is a piece that would benefit from a chieftang AR but it is more money than you've already spent, and I'm not sure if he's taking on orders at the minute. Will chase mine later this week if I've not heard anything and hopefully it won't take long to turn up!
  2. There are some very special watches on this thread. I particularly like the RQLEX Daytona LoL
  3. Get some pics up when it arrives!
  4. Cool, will look forward to them!
  5. I think I would sound out a local watchsmith who would be willing to undertake a movement swap - it may cost some money but hopefully would be less than replacing the whole thing if you screw up! lol
  6. Not keen on the busy dial of the first one! But then I'm not keen on Breitlings etc for that very reason, so I think it's just my personal taste lol
  7. Why go for just one watch? Could probably get a couple of cheaper ones with that money, and still have a bit left over
  8. This is a great idea Sadly I'm poverty-stricken at the moment lol
  9. I'll let you know when mine gets here lol I wouldn't worry too much about authenticity re: the white/cream dial. The gen is platinum cased and
  10. I think I'm right in saying that a PVD finish shouldn't be shiny? Best asking in the PAM forum!
  11. I quite like them Shame about the quartz though.
  12. It was, iirc. The latest offer is fully paid up pre-orders, scheduled for Nov 16th. When the Jan prepays get delivered was pushed back to August I think, so not that much difference now lol I don't envy all the work bk has to do!
  13. Nov 16th is the scheduled date for delivery of fully-prepaid SDs to begin, therefore those who have part-prepaid as per the offer in BKs Garage should hopefully get there watches before or around that date. However, if WM9 slip the delivery dates back (which they do while perfecting elements of the watches, as I understand it) then 2010 is indeed a correct guestimate.
  14. Is that alarm bells I hear ringing? lol
  15. Why would you buy something you don't really like? Buy to wear and enjoy - I don't want to spend
  16. I see that you have a friend willing to pick stuff up for you? I fear that she may get fobbed off with the wrong models though, especially given that to know what she's looking at, she's going to have to learn what different movements look like, what the genuine versions look like, what flaws to look out for... I personally would go through the dealers on here. What you save on getting your friend to get stuff may be wasted money if she picks the wrong one up! (Not to insult your friend's intelligence, just pointing out that there are many different rep models of the same watch, many varying greatly in quality!)
  17. Not really a rolex man? Nor was I. Except now I'm waiting to send the money for a Rolex Sea Dweller... lol There really are an infinite number of rep options. You will need to do a lot more reading yet before you can feel you know exactly what rep you want, with what movement, and with flaws you can live with! Don't be in a hurry to get your first one. I'm glad I held back
  18. I think I'd be ordering off the internet lol
  19. Not just the orange has Limited edition on it The orange marking versions were very limited editions of 250 pieces each, and you had black face and carbonfibre face (Titanium) versions, being different models. (01-92, 01-94, 01-96, 01-97) You also can get blue, red, yellow and 'phantom' markings on both 01 and 03 92 and 94, which I believe (iirc) all have Limited Edition on the face too. None of these appear to be successfully repped (IMHO) as the colour seems to look wrong in the pictures. The same seems to be true of the 03 Military version. Lume on all the reps is also generally very poor, with the hands usually just painted with normal paint. Have a look at bellross.com (under the 'Collection' drop down) and you can see all the range. I haven't seen how the new 01 case with lug screws compares to the gen but it's certainly a step forward. I think I would go for a plain white or black face 01-92 in carbon (PVD) finish or Stainless Steel as they will look near to gen if you get a correcntly moving automatic movement (28.8k bph)and don't take it off to show anyone lol
