Angus is working on the Seadweller and the GMT II

azerbyjam was selling his eta UPO so I snapped it up and swapped out the crystal with the genuine one I bought for my pumpkin lite which as warned packed in quite quickly! This looks even better on the black bezel version and will hpefully last a bit longer!! Just want to add that the deal with him was perfect and I would recommend azerbyjam anytime especially to EU guys. Here is a dirty quick pic.

This case and dial is not the same as the other YM's available. Note the higher crown position and much better dial finish at least in the pics anyway. The rehaut is better and the bezel is closer to the genuine watch. as to weight, I have owned a gen Yachtmaster 16622 and the weight is very little different to a Sub. The bracelet is better on the OEM becasue like the Daytona it has filled centre links. The platinum bezel and dial make very small differences to the weight compared to a complete platinum Day date for instance. I may have a go at the swiss 2892 version at $500.

The price of $2500 for 3035 would suggest swiss and her reply was no replica movement on this one. Not sure what to make on this one.
-
King has listed a very good looking Yachtmaster but what perplexes me is what movements she says.............swiss 2892 or swiss 3035!! The watch looks very good and probably the best Yachtie yet but how can the movement sbe as stated! I will mail her for clarity. She has emailed me and it would appear this genuine. the 3035 is 5 times more expensive than the 2892!!! I won't quote the price on here but it is expensive for a Rollie rep.
-
Andrew has listed it finally but his text says black dial!!!!! I sure hope it is not the case because to me it looks pretty much perfect comparing with my IWC catalogue pics.

My 3717 with swiss 7750 fitted. This one has good AR as you can tell from the pic. Still lacks the strong effect is lower lights that gives the lovely blue tint though.
-
I find them unacceptable and it will probably make me come on here less than normal. I find it uncomfortable that an ad is telling me where I live and how to find girls in my area!
-
I used the interent to find the eye lens coating company to do my Ar but I know longer use them or have the time to chase them to do these jobs but there must surely be companies in most countries that can undertake this work. It just needs some legwork.
-
I agree, Rolex does not use AR so I have my doubts about this comapny. I have used a comapny in the UK for AR in the past but there double coating finish is more purple than blue unfortunately. They are very good on single ar though. The company is Siltint in Manchester. They normally coat optical lenses. I have asked about blue tinits but they never give me a straight answer so I no longer bother with them. Do you not have any reps of your own to test them with???

Would have been a good idea but it is on it's way to another member now. Yes the crystal on the 3717 is pretty thin and does require careful removal. Thnaks for the warning though.
-
I have done this on a few occasions but the crystal is quite thin on these. Gently tap it out from behind being sure to use a cloth against the glass. It will come without too much force.
-
I'm in for 1 3717 crystal. give me details please.
-
Yes Cousins are quite pricy on some items. Not bad on the hands though. I think the dial is more than Ofrei too!

I received my 7750 from the first group buy yesterday and it now lives inside my IWC3717. A very beautiful and very genuine Valjoux7750 with very smooth and quick delivery and great service and honesty from ajoesmith. They are becoming expensive now and an oppurtunity will not arise often for EU buyers to get one a this price. Thanks!

Ok Then!! I think I have the best one.............it was made by a small company called Omega. Very accurate!!! Sorry could'nt resist, You will get plenty of responses about what is available. Have a look through the Omega section and you will probably find some answers to your question. Enjoy the hobby!

Great thread guys, keep em comin!

Thought I would start a PO week wristcheck. I'll start you off with my gorgeous(sorry I'm biased!)UPO with gen crystal.
-
Nice work but the case does look too thick. I have just sold a 2000 model MarkXV and it a beautiful simple watch. Here's a pic on the wrist.

This is a good price guys, you will regret it when they are gone. Cheapest I found in the UK was $480!! and well over $600 from Cousins now!!

IWC 3717 slow beat asian movement - Pics Uploaded
watcher replied to ajoesmith's topic in The IWC Area
I've just received a 3717 with slow beat as I intend ripping it out in favour of a swiss 7750 and have also noticed the finish is much better than the old ones. You know it's the old 21600 as soon as you push the chrono button though!! jerky!! Just need the movement now!! -
I have 3 of these movements and they keep batting on and keep very good time so based on my experience they are pretty good at the moment. Cousins informed me they could get the crystal in via special order at roughly 100 pounds so it would be a saving after the bloody import duty!! Cousins can source the date wheels and movement for me on the 2892. I have no intention of going near serious water with any rep. I have gens for that. I have never beleived a rep to be genuinely water resistant and never will! This watch is transformed in it's looks now and it even distracts from the slightly wonky logo!
-
I fitted the crystal myself, I don't use a watchsmith. When I say easy, it just pushed in as any other crystal would using a method very similar to a crystal press. There were no other issues and I used the same gasket as it was in perfect health. I have the lite version as I don't think the eta movement is any better. This one runs perfectly and my intention was to fit a gen 2892 with black date wheel and then order a gen dial and hands from ofrei. I will take some pics at work tonight and see if they are any better. here is a another shot before I fitted the bracelet back on.

Thanks Yes, the only thing changed is the crystal. The hands have come alive and even the hour markers look ok. This is the lite version by the way.
