Don't have a picture but I bought my GF the full white ceramic lady's size in December and it is still perfect with no marks whatsoever. I bought mine from Josh with all the boxes etc and swiss eta quartz movement inside.
That is the first series 702 crown and the tube you neeed is almost impossible to find. I had to mod my case to sink a 703 tube into it so I could use this crown. See pic below.
I do not know the exact size of the Genuine Rolex bars but I ordered mine direct from Rolex UK via my local dealer for the 6263 and they fitted perfectly witohut any drilling whatsoever. They were quite expensive though at 20 pounds a pair! but worth it. The end of the pin is rounded and polished and looks nice through the case hole.
As I'm about to receive this model form PT has anyone substantiated the claims of 1000met. water resistance or is just rep talk as usual?
I have sat on the fence for a while on this one but now I quite like it and want to wear it daily and go near water on a regulaer basis. Has anyone pressure tested it yet. I realise all reps vary and one being waterresistant does not mean another of the same type will be but it might give an overall impression of build quality on this model.
Were these built up pics from Angus then. I hope he gets the bezel diameter right. It's a big tell tale on these usually even more so than the crown position
I had not seen these updated built pictures!! It looks very good with what looks like a perfect rehaut for an SD and good dial etc but the crown is way too low in the guards for an SD
See this pic of my gen SD below
I ordered one two weeks ago and have heard nothing since. I wanted George to send proper finshed photos before completion of the order but he has not done so yet and the pics he has posted on his site are not good enough. This finshed watch is nothing like the prototype pics so far.
Thanks for the nice comments guys. I took a risk doing the crown mod but the result was definately worth the risk. Time to enjoy her for a while now before any other alterations such as a better coronet position and correct bracelet asnd end links.
Final version pics have been added ubt are not taken in the same positions as the other Z photos. I'm unsure if it is the same case even. Looks very much like a TW to me with slight alterations.
Just noticed that the dial is very different in it's printing. The font style is very much TW/MBW and not like the original pre-production pictures lower on the page.
I think Taiwan have modified the already existing MBW version and this is it.
The cure is quite drastic. You are right in saying it does not go past the o-ring. Using my dremel I slimmed down the tube which mean't removing the o-ring section and countrsinking the case so the tube would fit further inside so the crown would screw down flush to the case.
Here are 2 pics for you to see what I mean. The tube has a small o-ring where it tightens to the case and 2 inside the tube.
I received my beautiful Valjoux movement this week and finally got it inside tonight. Tell me what you think!
Specs andparts used:
DW version 1 case
Gen Tropic 21 with slight marks!
Genuine 24-700 Early triplock crown( very rare now)
Case countersunk to fit modern 7mm tube and allow it to accept the 700 crown. You just cannot find these ealry tubes anymore so I took the risk in modifying the case and the reult is great.
DW Mystery movement dial(not perfect but I'm happy with it)
Donor VJ72 with microstellar wheel.
Aftermarket bezel with nice recessed acrylic insert.
Hand set from DW.
Bracelet from Ebay which is not quite right so I will change it when the correct one comes along.
Genuine pins in the end links
Now for the pics.
No news at all and I don't really think I will get any to be honest. I hope I'm wrong but there seems to be too many reasons that this project is not possible.
In anticipation of my VJ72 movement arriving tomorrow I thought I would se how this little beauty will feel. Everything is in place ready for the heart surgery!
