  1. Ja, am Bodensee. Aber ich verstehe nicht warum er RWG vergossen hast. Artists!!!
  2. I haven't either. Same great watch from efren. Strap is not awful, just average, but looks bad on such a nice watch. Kind of a relativistic thing.
  3. For a factual read about radium paint and watch dials and hands try radium watch dial article and radium paint facts from oak ridge labs Radium is like high voltage electricity: treat it with the proper care or it will bite you badly.
  4. Actually it's nbd to own or ship radium. (Just don't powder it up and breathe it!) Tritium, on the other hand, like in some Luminox watches I have, iss verrry stricktly verbotten, und you vill be meeting mit Michael Jerkoff verrry soon iff you chooosss to play with heavy water. I would put up a few links to oakridge lab studies and radium and watch dials etc, but it seems like everyone here already has his mind made up one way or the other, never mind the facts, so if you think it's too dangerous to even say out loud (Voldemort!) then stay away, and if you think it's nothing at all (Mdm and Msr Curie might disagree), go ahead and play without a care.
  5. Actually I was thinking, wouldn't it be cool to lume a retro radiomir with radium? Just how pricey is pricey? Is it a wet paint already or a powder to mix? What kind of vehicle? What's the mean air velocity of an English sparrow?
  6. Yes, I agree, Joe. I was speaking tongue-in-cheek about the flash welding. I wouldn't have any idea how to do it on something so small as a bezel marker without destroying it. Hmm... sounds like a nanuq project to try on an old beater. Now you got me thinking again... and you know what happened last time, not pretty.
  7. I hope you have a little time to catch up, Doctor. :nopity:
  8. Doh! Quartz is not "chronometer." Is much more accurate that any COSC chronometer. Ow ow ow. Must be fools' day. Never argue with an idiot. First they drag you down to their level. Then they beat you with experience.
  9. So you're saying I shouldn't worry about somebody reading my mail... if I don't have anything to hide?
  10. Joe's epoxy with metal powder added is cosmetically the best, if any part of the bond will remain visible, because the "glue" looks like metal and blends in. There are many brands; Evercoat has several versions, too. Remember that it is an epoxy and depends on a good physical grip to hold two parts together. For a better bond, use 3M 3200 adhesive, if the bonded area is not going to be too thick (i.e, obviously visible). Sikkens now has some similar equal-quality adhesives, too, and one is white instead of brown after curing, which might be a better color choice. I prefer local flash welding myself. A thin wafer of nickel with a very-high-flam coating on both sides is placed between the two pieces (marker and bezel) and electrically ignited (high temp spark) to flash weld the three pieces together. With the nickel in between, you can even weld steel to aluminum this way. Too much, you say? Over the top? Well maybe. But my metal bits ain't coming apart. burma shave EDIT OOPS That's 3m 5200 adhesive, not 3200. 3200 is reflective film.
  11. Well I have given up on our strap guys for ladies' straps. (What do Iso and baghandler do?) Did I call you a lady? Oops. Joshin'.... But for true, where do you buy nice straps for your lady's Pam? or Tudor Sub? or mid-size SMP? If you only need to take up another 14mm, you can put in a couple more holes with the 00 leather punch at Tandy leather for $7. Sources for ladies' straps anyone?
  12. Dot is grate dani!! I want it in the nonstick pot. (Woohoo)
  13. I guess you just kind of intuit the compass direction? (Har!)
  14. The Luminox compass watch is truly usable, if that's what you're looking for . Very thick however, makes Panerai look like a Piaget thin body, sort of a '60's [censored] Tracy omni-watch size.
  15. Welllllll... eddielee still have only "off forum price" and please pm for best forum price which is not an honest price (sorry eddie) only when you post ON FORUM PRICE will it be ON FORUM PRICE How hard is this? Really? To all other wonderful dealers (which EL is also (a wonderful dealer, that is) but not so much just now), thank you, thank you, thank you.
  16. Well, it's kind of a long story, because you might think that the "sail" part and the picture of a sailboat in the avatar had something to do with sails or sailboats.... and you might think the adams part was, like, someone's name.... but actually there was this polar bear that left an anuk in front of my icehouse, which is called an asail in these parts of the A'dumas peninsula....
  17. Post prices. Most want to see a posted price. Rules say post a price. How hard is this? :cc_confused: If there is better price for good old customers, that is fine, too. At least we know "base" price. MSRP on fake watch? And you believe that? Who you trust now? What is question again? ADDED: @ edge... Nice to see best girl avatar again.
  18. civilised... oh stop... please make him stop...
  19. I've got gator belt it would look good with, though!
  20. Great strap I agree, maybe it's just the contrast with the lume color.
  21. Yes. :sorcerer: [censored], how about the most expensive reps?
  22. I'm interested too. Why private suggestions? Not the purpose of this forum.
  23. If you're going to do it a lot, get the LG Openall case opener (Otto Frei is a good source). It comes with six rings to open all sizes and types of Rolex case backs. It also works with the regular LG case wrench for non-Rolex type backs. Order the optional non-scratch case-holder for <$10; it's much nicer than the metal holder that comes with the unit.
  24. Now that is a cool camera. Till a decently priced digital back comes out, just shoot film and scan it.
