  1. 1665 for me. I tried buying a new insert but Ofrei sent me the wrong "illumines dot"
  2. Great review, very pleasant reading, thanks Robbie!
  3. I have to tell a different experience. I have a CHS GMT Master II "16710" coming from the noob factory (bought it from Jay), Swiss ETA modified 2836-2. I think this watch is the closest thing to a gen GMT Master II you can see on the forums. I had the hands and dial relumed by The Zigmeister. The GMT hand is 1:1, long and well painted as the original, arrow point (another critical part in many reps) 1:1. Bezel and insert substituted. This watch was bought in 2005: since then I wear it almost every day, I adjust the GMT hand every time I travel in a country with a different hour (1-2 times/month). It keeps the time at +5 sec./day. I trust in your friendship: I do not want to generate a sense on envy in all the people who have had bad experience with these toys. Maybe it will stop working today or tomorrow, I do not know. Simply I need to tell something different on this rep.
  4. Maybe he should get a rep and use the bezel out of that as a replacement
  5. Welcome Michael, you found a very good community here. We were long time looking for a EU based watchsmith: our mostly estimate expert (Rob, The Zigmeisterzumba) is based in Canada. Most of the members here sent him their babies, but as you probably know Customs issues are a nightmare, and we generally have more than one baby who need a doctor . The most frequent requests, besides servicing Swiss and Asian ETAs and Valjouxs include reluming with superluminova or tritium on the vintages, AR coating crystals, replacing hands and dials, "vintagising" or reshaping crown guards, lug holes drilling (rep Rolex) to accept 2 mm springbars, changing bezel inserts, etc. Welcome on board!!!!
  6. Good classic BUT CORRECT 42 mm in black bezel, SWISS Eta. Count me in please steve
  7. All the best to you Freddy! You are right, when our life is in calm waters we should be brave enough to stop for a while, catch the moment and ... enjoy. We always run so fast, and everything seems so hard to achieve, we could easily make the mistake of thinking that what we have is ... deserved! Thanks, also for the shining jewels you frequently show us!
  8. I think 93150 solid link plus 585 end links...
  9. Wow, Freddy. This is probably the same pearl(s) would fit also other vintages i.e. 1655 ... (I am lookig for this since a quite long time) steve
  10. Thanks friends. I will probably visit a watchsmith this evening. Any of you have an idea of how much he could ask for a full service on this movement? steve
  11. Hi guys, I recently received my first Asian 7750 chrono. I noticed it has a very small power reserve: if I take the watch off in the evening after a full day use, it is always stopped in the morning. Is this anything normal in your experience or is it my watch which has to be fixed? Notice that the movement keeps perfect time (+ 3 secs in 24 hrs), and I do not feel comfortable hand winding this kind of movement. Any advice?
  12. Well I am afraid the watch in the big picture is a gen, the small photos are of a not too accurate replica. I regret to tell you this ... at least you did not spend a fortune like other guys did. Welcome on board!
  13. Hi Freddy, can you please give us some .... example of such positivity (not with sec. at 6 7750, please)? Ah, and dealer, please!
  14. Oh, and I have the 1:1 GMT master II you relumed on my wrist. No one of the Rolex addicts in my Company has been able to detect the rep it is, and I handed the watch to them (!) Every time the light fades it glows as a torch, and I think "thanks Ziggizumba"! s.
  15. Hi Rob and Jennyfer! Welcome in Europe (with its pros and cons). The next time you MUST plan a visit to Italy! Have a superlative tour! s
  16. Ubi ... damn! I know this was not your intention, but ....
  17. Who knows where this one will end: 140263715054
  18. By Tor, yor reviews are simply assets to our community. Personally I am with you and with all the other friends who feel this new Rolex does not substitute the previous versions. The 16710 is today a new classic and this new thing will never substitute the GMT feeling in my heart. If I have to say what, I personally do not like the fat hands and hour markers, the blinky ceramic and the shiny mid links, the Rolex Rolex Rolex engraving ... what else? I think I mentioned almost all the new things... Ah yes I forgot the bigger size and the triplock crown In my opinion this watch shows how for Rolex it is difficult to make something new, to improve some classics. I had the same feeling when they launched the LV sub, of course. Maybe I'm groving ... OLD ????
  19. Wow guys!!!! Your pics make me think (apart from how skilled and well equipped photographers you are) at how good are the printings and dials / subdials in our reps!
  20. I agree with you too, that watch is simply fantastic. I got one too, hope the movement will be a survivor ... What do you think of the deployant buckle (like Josh's)? Wear it well steve
  21. Congrats, Dave, she is lovely, but ... Pele has a kind of "superiority" approach to her I'm joking of course!!! All the best to you and family steve
  22. How large is your wrist, tazz? I'm afraid the Avenger would be too big for my 17 cm
