  1. Great post themuck, great contribution, very informative and useful. I am still wondering how one of our reps could have survived to such a treatment! Besides this I also agree with the members who comply about the rust ... It is true that we will never stress a rep like this, but are we sure that rust does not appear at a more ... relaxed use of our watches? I think it is strange that rust is related to pressure ... but maybe I am wrong.
  2. I really hope you're joking, Neil I'm still waiting for my baby, don't forget
  3. Amazing! Great contribution indeed. We were educated to doubt about the word water resistant talking about reps, by our trustful member here ... Again great idea!
  4. I am afraid that being starters is a form of modern slavery. All the people who mind being followers are somehow afraid of something ... I think the attempt of some of us to start trends is simply pathetic! The very moment you think of being a starter you are a follower.
  5. In Italy (since this country has been repeatedly mentioned here and there ...) when a girl gets married she still receives "Il cucchiaio d'argento" as a wedding present. Cooking is an art every woman develops in the years. And which she is very proud of. We use to say (related to some young bit titted girls) "gallina vecchia fa buon brodo" which stands for something as "old chicken makes good soup", with its allegoric meaning ...
  6. I do prefer the 1675 in jubilee and the 16710 in oyster ... superlative babies both
  7. I have to sincerely agree with TTK: the two movements are absolutely similar, even if less refined, the first one (i would not call it Asian) seems to work perfectly. If there is a really different quality and durability it should be assessed before shouting at the crime... Great pics and comparison from The Zigmeister, anyway, whose watchsmithing and pictorial skills are absolutely out of this world!
  8. I was waiting for you to reply like this, Stephane!!!!!! You have two of the best reps I've ever seen (and I look to them frequently when I am in a bad mood). I still wonder who is the pure modder/artist . Since a vote is requested i say double red, no doubt, and more likely to be found on a wrist !!!
  9. What a 1665 are you talking about? I heard the MBW has real, working He valve
  10. Nice purchases fiend, particularly the Noob!!
  11. DO you think this is an aswer to be placed here? We all can't wait anymore!
  12. Hey Rosnik, I assume you already did what Jetson suggested ... shaving the back side and removing the double sided tape I ask you this because this is the same thing I did with my sub and it worked perfectly! My cristal is now indistinguishable from a gen in therms of height! I think the MBW crystal is not a flaw after all
  13. You are right Andy, the hand stack is not the correct one (hours-GMT-minutes-seconds from dial), as it is (wrong) for almost all the GMT II reps. There has been a certain time in which the MBW had the correct hand stack, substituting the hours with the GMT hands. I own one of these reps (bought it from Eddie), but I am afraid they returned to the wrong stack, which allows for a GMT hand setting which is similar to the gen's. I can tell I am very satisfied with mine, which is a daily beater, even if it is quite hard to set the hands properly (to let the date change at midnight ). As for all reps also my MBW has flaws, mainly in smaller writings and Rolex crown on the dial, but the wrong hand stack is really something I can't live with : wea re not all the same! I remember very nice reviews from By-Tor (who can live with the wrong stack ) and a superlative technical review from The Zigmeister. I really love the GMT, especially the black bezel!
  14. Wow, Jiro ... from dust (like me) to stars Congrats, great pics, all the best to you
  15. The MBW (first picture) came also (for a short time, I'm afraid) with the correct hand stack, which is, from dial: hour - GMT - minutes - seconds. Many in the forum (BT already declared this) do not mind very much an incorrect hand stack but somebody else (I am one of these) think that the hand stack is the real issue with the GMT, and not only for the quite short time when the hour hand passes above the GMT hand. The longer and differently stacked GMT red hand is very visible in all the perspective. I do not assume being right, but .. anybody out there agrees with me?
  16. I am a friend , coming from RWG "senior" ... They said I would have been welcome ... Do not worry, I did not want to criticise the idea of a waterproof rep, it is feasible but here it is difficult to find skilled watchsmiths who enjoy working on reps. And I do not like to send my reps across Europe.
  17. I think you've been lucky enough if you had no water inside while taking a shower ... Think at you friends laughing when the'll see your PO with the ... mediterranean inside
  18. I agree with you Richard, every new version has and will have flaws! In some way this is why the game is so funny ...
  19. Nice watch, indeed, but .. am I wrong or the manufacturers achieved a correct hand stack sometime ago? TTK, any advice?
  20. What do you think of the new Bond? Personally I think this is the less attractive in the character's long history
  21. I hope not! How can anybody wear something ... in a book? The possibility is that Ian wrote the words (Rolex, Submariner, ... Bentley) in the book, but I think this is not very probable. Sincerely I did not read the book, probably this is one of the rare cases in which the filmed version is better than the written one!
  22. Absolutely great watch for the price. I would buy one but I already have two Subs ...
