  1. I am genuinely blown away by the attention to detail you have presented in this thread! Your passion is truly represented by your product. Bravo and well done! I look forward to seeing more!
  2. I do too Ronin, however most of my techy/geeky crowd/friends are in the music scene, so that is where I am seeing some pretty impressive things happen with the iPad. It's a heck of a lot more convenient than lugging around a lot of gear! I think the difference here is that the people that I know that have one knew right from the start what the limitations were going to be, but they weren't looking for a replacement computer. They were looking for a very portable live device to perform with. For me, I definitely want one just as an aside to my laptop. Just for email, music apps & browsing the latest info on RWG
  3. Oh, one other small note - and again, this is just me - I just did a tally of all the websites I frequent on a regular basis. Here's a small list: RWG Facebook Macrumors Dealmac Craigslist eBay Apple Digidesign/Avid Daily Dose of Imagery Watchdoddy CNN Google news That's the basic list of sites that I visit continuously. Not one of them is flash based. Again, it's just me. Everyone has their thing, and sites that they like to frequent. For me, owning an iPhone or iPad is not an issue to browse those sites. Also, in the few times I need contact info for a restaurant, I just go to google and get the number and call.
  4. Now that I have had some time with it, I realize that it is not designed to do what the laptop can't. Opti really nailed it when he said that it is a "have on the side" device. I agree that not having flash is a disadvantage, because as Ronin pointed out, it is a huge pain because a LOT of restaurants and other tourist/service related companies rely on flash for their website design. That in itself is just due the fact that it's cheaper in many ways to design a site using flash (and IMO far more lazy). Just a personal opinion, but I absolutely hate flash sites. I hate how they look, I hate how they load, and I hate having to wait for them. To me flash is just a big FAIL, but again, that is just my opinion. Back on topic though, I have yet to meet an iPad user who has buyers remorse. They had specific uses in mind for it, and thus far, it has far exceeded their expectations. As Pugwash pointed out, using for live music, the iPad has found a great niche market!!!
  5. Exactly. And that is exactly why it will be it is a HUGE success Obviously, Flash or Not, buyers just don't give a damn.
  6. On the on-going debate between Adobe & Apple, Pocketnow.com did a side by side comparison of the new Android 2.2 OS and iPhone. Keep in mind that flash support for Android is still in Beta, this is what they had to say about it:
  7. Wow Ubi! That's a beautiful case!!! I love the patterned interior. Did you just buy this one case?
  8. Ohhhhh........ Very cool! Always learning from the masters here at RWG!!!
  9. Jojo - for us noob's here, could you point out what the differences are between a MkI and MkII dial?
  10. Ok, I just don't think I can sit staring at pics of 16750's any longer. I just can't see it! What is the glaring issue we are all missing??
  11. I'm normally with you BT. I normally prefer the oyster or jubilee straps and when i had the SOSF I preferred it on the SS strap than the croc. However, when I tried on Andreww's on the gen Breitling black leather strap, I was blown away by how comfortable it was!!
  12. Are you sure it was a DSSD on Jin? It seemed a lot bigger than that to me
  13. I love the part where they use dynamite on the watch!
  14. Found this on Daily Dose of Imagery:
  15. Wow! Well, first of all - congratulations! Secondly - that is an amazing story. I had to slow myself down just to make sure I didn't skip ahead. I was literally on the edge of my seat, a tear in my eye, hoping that the end of the story brought some joyous news! My fiancee and I have you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.
  16. I really like your 172
  17. Searching for Navi pics.....what happened to the pics on this thread? M....you and Ola didn't split up did you?
  18. Thanks P! I thought so too!! It's a great strap!
  19. You know you really need to stop with all these great IWC Frankens!!! Looking great Rosnik! Can't wait for the finished product! So, with this one in the pipeline, how many frankens will you have now? 3 total?
  20. That's a great looking ROO you got there!!! The finish looks great on it!
  21. Toad - realize this has been around here for a while, but what a cool write up!!! Thanks for doing this! Now that I have seen Andreww's Navi, this puts that watch into a whole new perspective!
  22. Hi folks, While I was in Toronto at the GTG with Toad and Andreww I got an opportunity to check out Andreww's beautiful Navitimer. He is one of the lucky ones like HackR to have one of the early versions of the rep with a bezel that lines up perfectly. I never thought I would like that watch, but it really is quite stunning! I started to research the watch a little bit, and came across one very interesting variation. Produced from 1997 to 2002, the Navitmer Spatiographe: This is one stunning looking watch!! I found a dial on eBay for sale, but I can't imagine finding a movement to go with this would be very easy? Anyone have one of these, or have any info on it?
