  1. I have been to a couple this year and it seems like quarterly is about the average time span for a GTG. We had one in October so I would say another one should be in the works soon. And yes, the GTG's are a great way for a noob to get an introduction to what's available out there. You'll see some watches you've never heard of before and the get hooked. Certainly happened to me with the Panerai's. You'll also get to see the varying degree of quality in the reps which helps a lot when making a decision on what to spend your money on. There are some amazing quality reps to be had for little money! The Narikaa Planet Ocean comes to mind. A huge favorite here at RWG. As an aside, I love Saltwater Aquariums! Used to work in a studio that had a beautiful one in the lobby! Stunning coral's, but a lot of work and money to keep it maintained! We had a great crew of guys who worked on it twice a week though, so it was always immaculate.
  2. Looks good Gio! I thought the RB II had colored subdial hands. I've never seen one with all black hands like that before. Edit: nevermind.....I'm guessing it's because it's not an RB II but an RB I.
  3. @wwarren - lucky b@$tard! Did you get to go to the 360 tour?
  4. Words are so rarely so eloquently put into an introduction, but my hat goes off to you Chris! Well done, well thought out, and welcome!!! I'm also a SoCal resident and we occasionally have nice little get togethers (aka GTG's) to have a pint and talk of life, love and the pursuit of the perfect replica watch! You have found one of the most inspiring, and helpful web sites and I hope you find what you are looking for and a whole lot more! RED
  5. I love my macro lens. It's a Tamron 90mm f2.8 Di macro lens. Mine is for a Nikon mount, but they make one for the Canon as well. Great lens for the money. New it's about $460 from amazon.com, but you can probably get a used one much cheaper. Here's one on the bay for $346.00
  6. Excellent pics! The water pours are superb!!! That is one beautiful panda dial! I really like that one a lot!!
  7. Beautiful showcase for some great watches you already have NORing! That's a perfect christmas gift there from a great girl! Well done!
  8. Lighting will become your best friend or your worst nightmare! Make sure you learn how to adjust the white balance on the camera. That will help out a lot. Your first shot is a little on the yellowish side because of your lighting and white balance setting. The white balance is probably looking for daylight, not incandescent. If you adjust the white balance setting for incandescent, the colors will be more correct. Good luck! Although this is mainly a watch forum, I have learned a great many things from some amazing photogs here!
  9. A mesh bracelet would be sweet!!! NOS bracelets are about $250.00 I believe and is definitely going to be a future investment.
  10. A 93150 bracelet would look good, but if you want the correct set, you would need to look for a 9315T and 380b endlinks. Congrats on the purchase! And good price too!
  11. Definitely need to fluff up that lume a little bit! But the watch is superb Lani! I love mine! I have it on a regimental yellow NATO strap. Of course, you could always drop in a Gen 550 movement for fun!
  12. Stunning watch and fantastic community work! Congratulations on such a beautiful time piece!!
  13. Merry Christmas RWG!! Starting off the day with my Tudor 9411: Switching to my SOSF for dinner time:
  14. Now here's something I don't recommend for the kids!!!
  15. The lighting is superb R! Well done! Wishing you and your family all the best this holiday season!
  16. When I was little, my Grandfather had a 70's seiko kinetic watch that I was always really fascinated with. He was an engineer so he went into great, enthusiastic detail about how the automatic movement worked. I was blown away. To this day I still try to find that watch but I just have no idea what model it was. Fast forward to about a year ago, I was in downtown Los Angeles and I came across a store selling replica watches. Most of them were terrible, but I found one that was quite nice. It was an Omega DeVille Hour Vision. I fell in love with the simple, elegant look of the watch. I bought it for $50, took it home and immediately started researching the watch. Of course, to my dismay, I discovered it was a pretty bad replica. That led me to start looking for a better one. The days and days of googling led me here. That was the beginning of the end for me. Now I'm hooked!
  17. Thank you for doing that LHOOQ! I've been waiting for a pictorial from you on this one!!! It's a stunning watch and definitely on my list of must haves now!
  18. Now that's how you do a "world time" watch!! What a piece of crap!!!
  19. Still wearing the Tudor.....probably through Christmas!
