  1. SO??? Where's the wrist shot?
  2. Happy B-Day Gran! Hope it's a great one! Oh and great looking watch! Looking forward to another great Dr Gran review
  3. Sweet! And only 66k miles on her? How is that possible?
  4. Been waiting for this review. Thanks for sharing Freddy! Looks great!
  5. It's possible, but I doubt it. When I first got my Tudor it had a gen 127 on it, and it was a little off to the side of the date window. Your's looks centered correctly, it just has the wrong magnification amount. My guess is that the aftermarket clarks crystal just has the wrong amount of date mag on it. What movement are you using in this one? The date wheel looks a little off to me
  6. What is the side profile like? Perhaps the crystal is too far up from the dial? It should look like this. I have a gen 125 crystal on mine:
  7. Some great pics in there! Thanks for sharing!
  8. Well I did have a couple of watches going to Ziggy, but I guess they will be sitting around for a while.
  9. Welcome fellow SoCal resident! I'm sure you will find a wealth of valuable info here. Thanks for the heads up on the broken link. I have taken it to the mod team to see if we can start cleaning up some of the links that are left over from the old domain name.
  10. Safari for me. It is a silly quirk, but my favorite feature of Safari is each of the "tool bar" bookmarks is listed with a number. First one on the left is number one, so you can click "Command + 1" and it will go straight to that site. "Command + 2" goes to the next one over, etc... Of course, RWG is my #1 bookmark It's just nice to type as little as possible sometimes. Another quirk of mine is is with Safari, if you hit "Command + L" to load a page, and start typing something, it autofills based on sites you go to the most. Firefox does this as well, but it gives you a list which you have to scroll through to select the page. I don't have time for that sort of thing. I want to hit "Command + L" and start type rw.... and then the rest of the site name is filled out and I just hit enter. I don't have to mouse down, or use the arrow buttons down to get to the page I want. Too many steps I try to use the keyboard as little as possible and the mouse even less.
  11. You were in that when it went down the cliff??? I loved the Corrado's! I wish they would bring back something like that. The Corrado or Scirocco (and no, not that silly one they released in the UK)
  12. Decided to switch over to my NATO strap since discussing which strap types we prefer
  13. I had one of those too when I had my fifty fathoms. I don't know why, but I think I just like the feeling of the watch as a bracelet that is allowed to slide around on my wrist. The leather or rubber straps just grab too much on me. I must admit, I do like the NATO or the Bell & Ross nylon straps quite a lot during the summer
  14. Found this one on fleabay today It looks as though it's had a rough, rough life.
  15. If Ronin has one of those sword wielding hotties by his side, I'd pay money to see that
  16. Vintage tritium lume to match the 9411 Oh yeah....and aged too
  17. Sweet!!! Mine is currently at the master's house
  18. Can't help you with the bracelet, but I would absolutely love to see pics of your "triple-six"!!!
  19. Now how on earth did I miss this???? When did you get the Monte Carlo?? Good to see you around Ubi!!! I think I'm gonna wear my Stølås for Wednesday
  20. I keep trying to like the rubber straps, but I just can't do it. The folded link bracelet on my Tudor, or the solid mid-link ss bracelet on my Stølås Harbormaster are insanely comfortable. The gen jubilee bracelet that was on my franken DateJust was incredible too. Definitely prefer the SS bracelet over any other options personally. Only watch I currently own that is not on a bracelet is my grandfathers Bulova that I restored and that one is on a custom made HK Tan croc strap. That one is pretty comfy too, but not my first choice.
  21. Being a studio rat for many, many, years I can comment on the NS-10 thing. First off, the NS-10's are setup (albeit not ideally) onto of the console meter bridge. Spaced apart for an optimum spacial image. They are NOT flat by any means. They were made popular because some engineer mixed some grammy winning records on them and everyone followed suit. Secondly, they are setup in a studio that is "supposed" to be acoustically sound. Minimal reflections, proper room response time (ie: reverb time) etc. Some of the studios in the US have had a fortune poured into them to get an optimal sounding room. There is no way that a pair of Yamaha NS-10's will sound the same for the home user. The basic concept behind using the NS-10's in the studio is for a "reality" check. Most studios have large main monitors setup and tuned for the best response. If you mixed a record entirely on the main speakers and then took the record home it would most likely sound terrible. So engineers will do a reality check on what has been considered the worst possible scenario. The common phrase was: "If you can make it sound good on NS-10's it will most likely sound good anywhere". And its true. If you can stand listening to your mix on the NS-10's and it doesn't want to make you run home and cry to momma, then you probably have a pretty awesome sounding mix. NS-10's are extremely hyped, especially in the mid-range (1kHz - 4kHz) and in a lot of cases, you will see some engineers put some two ply tissue paper over the tweeter to help calm down some of the harshness of them. Before the NS-10's the popular mixing "reality" check speaker was a little 5" full range speaker by Auratone. Same concept. If it sounds good on the Auratone, it will probably translate extremely well on any speaker system. Anyways - really looking forward to your review Freddy!
  22. Looking forward to hearing more about these Freddy. What was the process to get your custom inserts made? Did you have to go to an audiologist for the mold?
