  1. The guy probably just wanted his pet moose back
  2. I used to own a sound company called RED Sonics. RED actually stood for something: "Rapid Electron Deployment". I had developed some high end audiophile instrument cables for a few session guitar players and they always commented on how "fast" the cables sounded. The transient response was "intense", they said. I thought about it for a while, and somehow the name RED Sonics came to mind. I thought some more and thought it would be cool if it actually meant something so that's what I came up with. I designed the logo as well which was a little more involved than my avatar. When I joined, I tried to get just RED, but it was taken (by what came to be a scammer here on the forum) so I came up with redwatch.
  3. Wow! Great pics of an even greater watch!
  4. Check out this page. If you scroll down they do have some great pics of the Tudor 2824 and it does look similar to the one in that auction
  5. Well it's supposed to have a 2824-2 in it, but I can't tell if that's what it has. It doesn't look too bad to me though. I'm trying to find some comparison pics on the net but I haven't found much in the way of movement shots.
  6. Neither can I... I was quite shocked at it's weight! But sure is a beauty in the flesh Going with the SOXA for Monday:
  7. Not sure if it's the same bracelet, but I just saw the one that asimplefarmer is selling and the bracelet is pretty damn awesome! Hollow rivet, folded link bracelet. The mid-links are quite nice and thick too.
  8. So sorry to hear about your friend J. It is truly a terrible loss but be assured he is in a better place now. It always amazes me how some people live such a perfect lifestyle and are healthy and yet still get plagued with such a terrible disease. There are never any real answers as to why these things happen. Just know that your friend knows you are thinking of him and that you contributed to his life in a positive way.
  9. You need to go through the vetting process before you can be approved to sell high value watches here. I appreciate the fact that you would like to sell your watches, but in future, you might want to contact a moderator prior to blatantly advertising which watches you are selling. Please be advised that we don't condone the sale of watches through these sorts of avenues. We do this to protect our membership.
  10. Gen dial came that way. Also the insert came aged already so I really don't know how it was done. The picture at the top of page 3 is a very good representation of the color of the watch and bezel insert.
  11. That is just super HOT! Great build!!!
  12. Now that is a beautiful Daytona and even better story behind it. You are lucky to have such an amazing friendship and your friend is super lucky you were willing to sell him the watch. Well done!
  13. That looks amazing! Beauty!! Switched back to the UPO for Thursday. I am thinking this one is about to get some upgrades. Really loving this watch!!!
  14. I guess you are really enjoying that rubber strap!
  15. Man that must be odd to deal with. How many months is it like that?
  16. Going with my Stølås on it's fancy NATO for Wednesday
  17. Looking good! Definitely need a jubilee in your collection at some point
  18. Well this was supposed to be a "test drive". Wasn't sure about the size of the beasty as I normally don't enjoy large watches. BUT!!!! I have to say, I am quite smitten with this one. I think this might very well become my next little project First thing to go....the clasp!
  19. Thanks! Still my favorite watch in my collection by far!!! Currently in the mail to Ziggy for a service
  20. Thought this thread could use a little bump
