  1. Thanks guys. That's what I was afraid of. Oh well, I'll get to it tomorrow then.
  2. Any tips on how to address an issue with the Autowind mechanism for a 2836? It's binding and when I mount it on a working movement, the manual wind will not work. It's very odd. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
  3. Anyone know what the correct stem length is for a Datejust with an ETA 2836 movement? Building a Turn-O-Graph and I need to cut down the stem for it. Thanks!
  4. Did you have any luck figuring this one out? I am struggling with a datewheel for a 2836 and it is really starting to frustrate me!
  5. That's pretty cool! I gather Fuji film is still somewhat available?

  12. Wow that was a fun read. Like opening up a Time Capsule We've come a long way, baby!
  13. Do you have a camera phone or anything that you could use to show us the setup of the shots? That always helps when trying to critique the lighting etc...
  14. Nice, but I agree - more pictures!!!
  15. If you ever get really serious about focus stacking, check out the StackShot from Cognisys, Inc
  16. Tripod, tripod, tripod! After that, the best way would be to shoot either full manual or aperture priority. The larger the aperture number the better depth of field you get so for those side profiles you will get the front and back of the case in focus. Better lighting could help, but it's mostly more about the stable platform for the camera. Also, for longer exposure times, it usually helps to use the timer or remote to trigger the shutter as just the action of using your hand to press the shutter can cause the smallest movement which will then mean fuzzy focus. What lens are you using now? Is it the kit lens (18-55mm)? Oh one other thing - the white balance settings are somewhat important as well. Check out this post I did on white balance settings and differences
  17. I'm confused. You found it as in you have it in your possession and would like to sell yours? Or you found one that you would like to buy but you don't know what to offer for it? If it's genuine, and basing it on what the gen Louis Vuitton watch case sells for, it probably cost somewhere between $800 and $1000 new. Used? Who knows what it would be worth. It's not like there is a mass market for such a unique piece so it depends on what someone is willing to offer for it.
  18. OMG! The holy trinity! And that looks like a Wolf Designs watch winder. Or maybe an Orbita? Well, either way, you have acquired a heck of a collection already and to that end I congratulate and welcome you
