Why? Why do you do this? I just spent my funds on a different watch. (Not that I'm complaining )
Nice find Nanuq! I'll be watching this one with interest
Nice find. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on that one.
Here's a nice 2-foot 4 pole extension cable for you. Might be easier to use the mic with it?
Good read guys. Been enjoying this very civilized debate As an immigrant alien in the USA working under a work visa, it's quite fascinating seeing how things are dealt with from a sort of "outside" perspective.
I do say that I would have to disagree with sempire's comment about the three types of immigrants. Being in Los Angeles where illegal immigrants are quite rampant here, I must say I don't think any of them are just here to "take". They come to work. Period. They can make more money working here and send it home to their families in Mexico, Central & South America.
I think since this original post, I have reset about a half dozen keyless works in various movements that I had in my parts bin. Oh well... practice makes perfect
The ad system is smart. Based on your traffic history that is stored in your own browser. Kind of scary isn't it? Yet another one of many good reasons to pay $3/month to be a member here - no more ads
Well a couple of pointers for the noob's out there:
1. Never, ever, ever pour Bergeon One Dip into a plastic container. Bad idea Melted my nice little container quite quickly
2. It seems as though there is one click wheel in the auto wind mechanism that has two jewels in it. I don't think that particular wheel is supposed to be cleaned in One Dip as it looks like the jewels have been eaten through (there are holes in them now)
3. Always make notes so you know how it goes back together (I assumed I would remember and now I don't)
Point of all of this? My framework and gear train is pretty much done. Anyone have any spare broken 2836's or 2824's they don't need??
Are you thinking of selling it? Does it have the date/calendar mechanism in it? I don't need a date wheel, but it would be good to have the parts for it
Haven't looked at this, but in anticipation of my 7032 dial, movement & hands coming in from Ziggy, I am wondering how hard it is to remove the bezel off of the DW 7032 case? I would like to brush the bezel as well as age the case a little bit.
On the gen, what is the direction of the brush pattern? Is it circular or does it go like a sunburst, from center outwards?
Thanks!
It's been transplanted into another watch
This noob sub has been "on the list" for over a year now. When the insert fell out, the only way I could get it back on was to remove the bezel. That was my first introduction to never remove a noobmariner bezel!!! I bent it quite badly. Got another noob case, but the bezel was still attached and I bent that one too.
Finally I had it this week and started working on it again and I managed to straighten it out successfully and got the insert re-installed. Now I just need a movement and a pearl
