  1. Lantis - when I bought one of these, I did open the case back and the movement was identical to the photo that was provided on the dealers website. But, as many have mentioned before, if it is a 2824 then I would not be too worried about it. The decoration is really not relevant and not worth the hassles involved in sending it back and waiting for another one. However.... if it is a clone movement, but you paid the higher price for a swiss one, then I would think you have reason to complain. Just my 0.02
  2. God I miss the chip wagons in T.O! They are the absolute best fries I have ever had!!!
  3. I cannot believe I have already hit the 5k post milestone already. What an amazing time I have had here and the things that I have learned, especially in the last 6 months, is staggering! I cannot believe I am starting to fix my own movements now! For the future? I don't know what the future holds for me, but I have been lusting after a watch makers lathe (been eyeing a few on eBay for a while now.) Thanks to everyone, especially the amazing friends I have made around here. You guys make this place what it is and I wouldn't change it for anything! Cheers mates!
  4. Well that was way too easy! :duh: Thanks Sempire!
  5. True enough, although there was quite a bit of controversy over Schumacher's Benneton car in the '94 year as to whether or not he still had computer aided traction control or launch control. The director of the movie discussed that topic quite a bit afterwards and he said they eventually admitted that they had one computer system left in the car (even though all computer aid was to be removed from all cars). The one thing that always blows my mind about Senna is the fact that he was able to drive like that in a car completely un-aided by computer systems controlling the traction control, brakes & suspension. Truly mind blowing when you think about it!
  6. Only need one Snowflake in the stable Nanuq? What do you have again? Two 9411's or one 9411 and one 9401 no date? Still waiting for mine to return from a lengthy, but much needed, spa treatment. All this Snowflake action has me missing that watch all the more!
  7. Moved out for work then just stayed Been here 15 years. Hollywood/Burbank is where I need to be for what I do for a living. To be honest, if I could get the same sort of job in Toronto for the same sort of pay, I would probably move back. Cost of living here is ridiculous!
  8. Anyone have the source for the watch material pearls? eBay? Store?
  9. According to the director, the DVD will be released in North America sometime in October or November this year in case you can't get to a theater to see it. He truly was a gifted driver in the rain. No one could drive like him then, or I'd say even now and have as many wins he did in the rain.
  10. Another great looking TAG!!! Still wearing this one
  11. Growing up in Toronto, but now living in Los Angeles, I must say I quite like it here
  12. Agreed...... especially if that stripper is invited
  13. Currently only showing in one theater in Los Angeles, and another in New York, the documentary Senna is a smash hit. Using footage from throughout his driving career as well as personal moments from family and friend personal video collections, the movie tells an inspirational & heart stopping story of the great mans short life. I would highly recommend that if you have an opportunity, you must see this movie! Had the distinct pleasure to meet the director, Asif Kapadia this evening as he made a special appearance to discuss the film. Very gracious with his time and he was wearing a beautiful IWC Spitfire on brown croc leather Go see this film!!!
  14. Yup Got it last week from seafoam A perfect gen from 2010
  15. What are the "tells" on this one?
  16. Wow! Someone's a lucky son of a bitch But at least you've still got your 16520
  17. Did you sell your Daytona Ubi? Sometimes I miss this one: And sometimes this one:
  18. Thanks guys! @LHOOQ - are you referring to the blue dial or the blue background?
  19. If you even get the order in the first place. You have to be careful as there are a lot of scam sites out there. What some members do is buy the asian one and either have the movement serviced, or go the franken (frankenstein) route and purchase a genuine movement for the watch. It costs more money that way, but part of the fun of building a franken watch is the time spent sourcing the parts.
  20. Pretty sure it should have a gasket. That's pretty odd, but not all that unexpected. I can't think of the number of times something was missing from an order for rep stuff. I have a DW case set and I don't have a movement holder. Not sure what I am going to do about that one yet
  21. No I haven't had the rep, but I have heard it is pretty decent. The only issue is, as is the problem with most rep TAG's, is the blue color is way off. The black is supposed to be a great rep though.
  22. I thought that was a Z! Looks good
