As some of you are aware, I am an Investigator by profession - I have been chasing down crime, smut, puss and corruption in the streets for more than 25 years now, so it comes natural for me to think like the investigators hired by Uncle Rollie and his friends, who are becoming increasingly desperate to put you out of business. I have an observation, and a suggestion to make, regarding your vulnerability, but since this is an open forum, I obviously cannot make it here. Well Neil, I'm not too sure I understand what you want with this post. Although I'm sure lots of people will, no rational man could support your position since you are not willing to say who did what to whom, or why. There's nothing sacrosanct about a PayPal account - if some poor schmuck sent you the funds for half dozen watches six years ago and hasn't received them yet, I'd feel pretty damn stupid for condemning their actions when the facts came out. Generally, that is excellent advice, but my inclination would be to keep my mouth shut and see what they do. I would not claim the watch or admit it was mine - but be careful about making any false statements. I do not know how things work in Sweden, but my guess would be that Customs is going to keep the watch no matter what you do, but probably nothing else. I would not reply to anything the lawyers for Rolex send until they served me with something requiring me to appear. I doubt they would go to the trouble, but they are bullies so expect threatening mail and demands. Good luck, and let us know how it goes for you. Bill

Nope - you are correct, the MBW was the DRSD pictured. I don't kno how the gmt hand could be any longer - it would scrape the rehaut. They are only about thirty seconds apart since the day I got them - one is 10 secs slow, and one is twenty secs fast. Bill

The GMT inssert is the one that came on it. I have a whole drawer full of inserts for Subs and SDs from various suppliers. You'd be amazed at the differences in sizing from one manufacturer to the next. I just mic a bunch of inserts and then match them up to the bezel I want to put them in. Bill

Here's a few modem burners for you. One thing to note is the time -- these two were set several days ago, and they are running very close to the same time. You see that little nasty up near the 22 on the red/blue . . . I just saw it myself looking at the pics. Turns out, the bezel has a protective film of plastic I didn't see and only just now removed. Yep, I did get them from George No, they are not the genuine movement, but they are a genuine GMT movement as opposed to a jury rigged GMT made out of a 2836. Here's another little gem that just arrived from Brother George today. As you can see, I swapped the crystal for a Tropic 39 and the bezel insert as soon as I got it. Bill Bill

Everyone sells a nic Chinese Sub with Swiss ETA for under $200, but I'd go for the nicer one sold by Joshua or Eddie Lee for a little bit more if it was going to be something I would wear. One thing about it, you have a good selection of honest dealers here who will do you right. Bill

In response to a recent post where I mentioned that I was so fond of the "Perfect SD" that I actually bought myself five of them, a received a number of PMs and E-Mails. A lot of people apparently found it difficultt to believe that I would buy that many of those. Marketing studies reflect that for every person that writes in, there are some enormous number of people who had the same thought but didn't bother to write. If that's true, a whole lot of you must find it difficult to recognize true mental illness when you see it. I just added a couple of new toys to my collection - a pair of Rx GMT II's with 2893 movements from our friendly, honest and completely discreet MBW source. I kept the red/blue fitted with stainless oyster, but changed the red/black to a black stingray band w/deployment clasp. I would REALLY recommend that to anyone who likes the Rollies but finds the bracelets to be a pain-in-the-ass. Both watches are tracking the atomic clock to within a couple of seconds a day. They are not cheap = pricing is almost the same as the MBWs (I bought a half dozen of those from him too). Now, if one of you friendly folk would be so kind as to offer me a place to stay . . . wifey has just about had it with me and these watches. Pics will follow. Bill

HA! I too had male from [blank] today, an MBW Red Sub and two GMT II's . . .you know, the ones that cannot be found with real 2893 movements in them. Damn shame they arrived broke - when I try to adhjust the GMT hands, they jump from hour to hour and they adjust by twisting the crown forward instead of backward. I wonder what could be the matter. Maybe I oughta just throw them away? Bill

This is like a small town. People pay attention and word gets around. Some time ago, I bought a Pam GMT with a 2893 that turned out to be a 2836 - I'd name the seller, as he deserves credit, but some might think he tried to pull a fast one. No doubt in my mind that he did not know and went by what he was told - PayPal was reversed as soon as I told him and before I returned the watch. That's a class act that cannot be moderated. I think our mods have enough on their plate without trying to police the "He said, she said" world of private sales disputes where there really isn't much they can do anyway - and that part is important. If people feel that mods are monitoring and controlling private sales, that would give them a false sense of security making them MORE likely to be screwed than if they realize they are on their own. Never -- Brits and Aussies, but not Americans. You're a good guy, 24 HRs is more than enough. As far as rules and moderation goes, I suggest that we leave the mods out of it - they have more than enough to do already and they are in no position to force any seller to do anything. Reading the posts, it's very clear that there is a concensus - once a seller agrees, he's obligated and should allow 24 hrs for the buyer to make the purchase. That's reasonable and if you (whomever you happen to be) are selling something, and choose not to comport with the clear consensus of the board, I don't want to buy from you anyway. To some extent, we should be self moderating. Bill
