I think i have found a contact who can get rep panerai GMT (PAM 29/63) Hands that will fit the ETA 2893 GMT movement. Who needs these? Please post here. If there is enough interest then maybe we can do it

Seikos are so under rated IMO they are the best quality in watches. Yes the Grand seikos are expensive but compare the quality to rolex and Grand Seikos win hands down! Just one example - check out this movement If i had the Grand seiko id sell all my collection and wear it everyday!

Im going back to Japan and would love to buy a Grand Seiko, but they are expensive Alas maybe some pieces have to go I have a PAM 29 and a PAM 63 but i very RARELY/NEVER WEAR THEM. I understand how good they are and the movements, ETA 2893, Both wind like butter, so nice but if i dont wear them then whats the point?? Both have Super Lume and date wheel changes. I also have the replacement cyclops' just need to be installed and I also have the genuine crowns to be installed but just havent got round to it as i RARELY/NEVER WEAR THEM. What is the going rate? Should i sell them or keep them??

Im going back to Japan in Feb 2008 for 3 weeks holiday, I used to live there for 4 years and the Mrs is Japanese. Im going to buy myself a Seiko Spirit and a Seiko Samurai. These 2 watches are for the Japanese market only, Im sure some members know this already. Anyway, Id be more tha happy to get seiko watches for members if they want, or any other japanese watches that you want. As for shipping ill send from Japan with a low value marked for cyustoms etc. Watches will be posted alone with NO box or papers. The box and all relevant papers/documents will be posted separately. If there is any interest please PM me Thanks UPDATE 27th Jan 2008 Ill be going to Japan in 10 days time and will need to know who, if anyone, wants a seiko samurai or seiko spirit o any other seiko or other watch. Please PM me and we can arrange it Cheers

My advice, if you dont know how to take the caseback off then you shouldnt attempt to remove any dust from the inside of the crystal. removing the caseback is the easy part, removing the dial and movement a little more difficult and everything else a little more difficult after that. By all means go for it but be careful!!!

Introducing the Next, Best Thing in coatings - ADLC
ajoesmith replied to a topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Avitt Looks very good, a good all over even coating Just to let you know the PVD coating I get done on the B&R watches is a special in house PVD coating by the company and has a surface hardness of 5000HVN, yes 5000!. It is a special PVD with a mix of TiAlN and DLC, and it also takes place at very low temperatures so ok for rep parts -
Nice watch BUT you have to be a supporter here to sell anything!!! Please support the forum, its a small donation/fee for 1 years membership

I personally think the design is so so, i do like the chrono pushers though, being part of the case, nice And i do like the price, $328 from the cartel, maybe cheaper from other sources?? Usually these days a so called "1:1" rep is more expensive. Not bad, but not my style

The blackbird doesnt look as thick or is it just me?
-
The case on this rep looks really thick, is this because of the secs at 3? the monaco isnt that thick if i remember correctly.......
-
This is relatively easy if you have some experience If you remove the dial and hands of your daytona, you will see the plate that holds al the extra gears in place. Simply remove one of the exra gears and the seconds will not function. Then you can freeze the subdial. I have a seconds at 6 movement here, ill take pics of what i mean so you can understand

I shall also be adding this to my collection as well during my holidays The Seiko Samurai! http://www.flickr.com/photos/centrax/53606.../in/pool-seiko/

I used to live there for 4 years, now in Australia. But going back for a 3 week holiday in February for some good food and shopping as Oz is pretty crap for both! Cant wait

Victoria, excellent find I was browsing and saw this pic of a seiko http://www.flickr.com/photos/safesurfer/28...pool-timepiece/ Excellent, a seiko watch thats looks like a grand seiko, but at a 5th of the price. I think Japanese watches are up there with the quality of swiss if not BETTER. I WILL be buying this watch when i go back to japan in February! Thanks Victoria! Edit more info on the watch, notice the comment about ETA not selling outside the swatch group and this great movement! http://www.pmwf.com/Watches/WATCHSALES04/S...MadeinJapan.htm
