Most importantly ... don't go crazy while waiting .. don't email the dealer again and again asking for updates .. MANY people do this and it just makes everything move more slowly when dealers have to answer more and more mails.
Next ... ditch that rep strap and get a nice one .. it will make a 100% improvement.
I received my "mary" bracelet a few days ago as well, and it's on my modded PT 1680 currently. I did have to poke it a LITTLE BIT to get gen bars to fit, but they did and I didnt break anything.
With proper maintenance a Swiss motored watch is good for generations. Why would you think it would have a set, short lifespan? Proper schedule is a tear down and cleaning every 5 to 7 years. Like any mechanical watch.
If you want one right away, Vaccum (a respected resident watchsmith) has a UPO for sale currently with genuine parts and Chief AR coating.
send him an email and ask if it's available, and his price
I have to assume that this is a custom Asian movement ... not a modified ETA clone ... so it would be very reliable. Just look at the Ulysse Nardin reps with power reserve dial and running seconds at 6 ... rock solid .. and not modified ETA clones .. they are custom Asia movements.
Im loving the look of the vintage folded bracelet I received from Watch International today, (put it on my modded PT 1680) but I don't want to lose the functionality of the diver's extension found on the original bracelet.
It appears to be attached with swage pins. I don't own an arbor press so what are my options? Any ideas?
thanks
Rob - thanks for the updates and interesting technical notes ~ you used to have a mosaic of your finest lume work posted as a single large photo. You deleted this perhaps a year ago, and I was wondering if you still have the original to re-post? It had Crazy Hours dials, Slevin bezels .. all kinds of eye popping goodness.
While this cliche is fine for primary school teachers to use while upbraiding eight year olds, actual linguists agree that a language's swear words have a very specific place and use. They are a legitimate tool for expression and serve a purpose in speech.
I don't know what size page you use for new posts, but @ an average of 150 new posts a day, I get 6 pages of new posts every 24 hours .. not 1 page.
That's enough content for me to sit here for 2 hours straight, reading and replying.
If you are interested in AP Quartz models, a more fair price is $88 .. street price would probably be more like $50.

Don't worry. I was scammed on my first rep purchase too, for $150 for a quartz Bell & Ross .. the one in my photo, below.
Ok, so what you have there is a Quartz movement .. I'm sorry for my mistake earlier, a quartz is not silent but it only ticks 1 time per second, where the mechanical movement ticks either 6 or 8 times a second.
If it's quartz, the watch will be silent .. place it to your ear. Can you hear it ticking? Also, the seconds hand and the chrono seconds hand will jerk in 1-second movements on a quartz watch, not sweep smoothly.
