  1. Also notice that the bottom of the pearl on the gen just kisses the silver paint ring on the bezel insert. Its the same on the replica .. it just kisses the silver paint ring. People asking for a higher pearl are just plain wrong. I will totally admit that the distance the pearl sticks out may be too much.
  2. Here's the Gen 42mm ... compare it to the QC photos posted just above ... I think the bad logo people and the bad HE valve people are smokin' something ... looks great to me.
  3. What the Community needed was a new 42mm Planet Ocean replica which accepts genuine parts, to take the place of the 4th generation 42mm Planet Ocean replica, which has been out of production for (almost 2 years?) Here it is. Gen crown and tube, gen dial/hands, Chieftang AR on the crystal .. and .. you're 97% to the finish line. Seriously .. what's to complain about. *it's a replica*, costing around 1/20th the price of the real item. Congrats to the factory and their designers.
  4. I have to agree with Ken on the Birkin .. how can you say HandBagBuzz is cheaper when KB's price is *** hundreds *** less for the same bag? Handbagbuzz has a gorgeous web site, any fool can see that .. so USE it to find what you like then ask Ken for a price on that item. Send him the photo from the web site, even ... My wife is fairly high up the ladder at the largest insurance company in the world. She carries her orange KB Birkin there proudly, and all the women stare and stare. I am not exaggerating. As for service .. Ken's factory rep forgot to send the fun paper and plastic "extras" (rain poncho for the purse etc) with the Birkin. When I mentioned it to Ken, he shipped the whole accessories package *** EMS *** (not crap airmail) at his own cost. So please ... wake up and discover who's the top dog in the replica soft goods game. You'll notice that KB refuses to sell replica Coach goods, even tho they are wildly popular .. why? He hasn't seen one yet that comes up to his standards for quality. What does this tell you.
  5. Didnt FxrAndy make a bulk purchase of ETA GMT movements, and have some people back out of paying? I think he still has them on offer in his RWG signature, if you look.
  6. the 3135 clone movement has false parts which come loose and jam everything. buy a different movement.
  7. The Gen DSSD's bezel insert marks are in a Platinum color .. so silver is generally too dark and white is just wrong. The v5 gets it very close with it's "light gray" It's a very good looking example that you have there. The only mods I recommend for the 2010v5 is sand the underside of the bezel insert until it sits BELOW the level of the bezel rim, and finish the pearl dot with a thin dome of clear women's nail varnish.
  8. Whoot! Could this be the best news of 2010 ??
  9. You have to take this on a case by case basis. No one can tell you if ALL ETA movements sold on ebay are genuine. I have purchased 2824s from Wholesale990 and yes, they are genuine. The difference between clone and genuine ETA is quality control. Clone movements are not oiled and not clean. Genuine ETA movements are. Chinese clones are so good that you need a magnifying loupe to discover them. But they are dry and dirty inside and should be cleaned!
  10. LOL for a minute, I thought this was a raffle for the 1665 ... and I was utterly devastated that I had missed out, since I love this watch. I would have had a fist full of tickets for this one Congrats on a successful game.
  11. Hm .. why do you keep such a high quality camera beside your bed? Beautiful pictures, and a fantastic watch. I want one.
  12. The factory has stopped making the SSD (super sea dweller) .. it would be almost impossible to find one in a store. Perhaps a used watch, yes. If you order one from PT, I think he will say "OH, I am sorry! I can not get this."
  13. The Search on this forum can be worthless. You can also try: "site:www.rwgforum.com search words" in Google. That will tell Google to search RWG only. It works very well for me. For instance the other night, I was trying to search for "rolex dssd v2" using the RWG search and it just whined and complained that my search words were too small and I was not allowed to search for small words. So I Googled " site:www.rwgforum.com rolex dssd v2 " and found what I needed. If I had tried to make the RWG searcher happy and not used the V2 search word, it would have been utterly worthless.
  14. Thats beautiful! Congratulations on your amazing prize.
  15. LOL when you wave at the crystal, it waaaaves back at you
  16. The Ultimate Planet Ocean (UPO) is a 45 .. there is no 42mm UPO.
  17. Vac is in Florida and is a trusted watchmaker on this forum. TheKatt is in the Great Lakes region and is a trusted watchmaker on RWI. vaclume@ gmail.com and gkloner@ gmail.com as for prices you are looking at $80 and higher.
  18. The dial has too many shadows to tell: did they go back to the correct recessed date wheel window or are they still using the inferior dials (for about 1 year now)? I'd like to think that if they fixed the logo, they'd start using the stepped recess in the window, as they did in the beginning
  19. Not to mention Forbidden Planet !!
  20. The glue under your insert is too thick on one side. Look at the top and then at the bottom of the insert in picture #1 ... see? The bottom is below the level of the bezel and the top (pearl side) is higher than the level of the bezel. MAYBE your crystal is not seated ... that I can not tell you ... but your insert is definitely slanted from too much glue.
  21. I've come to see these guys like car dealers ... or even worse, USED car dealers
