  1. Welcome back; I haven't been here long enough to know you, but I look forward to sharing thoughts on our mutual hobby with you.
  2. Ok. I like round numbers so I bumped it up to the next highest $x00 from where it was
  3. The incorrect Omega logo on the dial is called "happy feet" .. this exists on previous models.
  4. Perfect . It shows what a talented person can do with a common base model.
  5. DMACNZ: What other people are saying is true .. since you do not have a buying relationship with any wholesalers, you will almost never be shown *any* good watches nor given any good prices. Put yourself into their position .. they don't know you so why should they trust you or offer you their best price. Regarding common A21j movements, the 2813 is the low beat, and 4813 in the high beat variant. "A21j" is a catch all phrase for a whole bag of mystery movements as well. The x813 series is a clone of the excellent Japanese Miyota movement and can be very dependable.
  6. Welcome back, Phoband. I was just wondering how you were, a few days ago.
  7. As far as I can remember, the mod for the VC's logo cross was from a completely different watch model .. it's very small on all Overseas versions.
  8. The sticky crown is the least expensive part to upgrade, luckily!
  9. Welcome to the forum, and enjoy your new hobby!

    Busted?

A couple of months ago there was a show of force and quite a few Replica sites registered in the USA were seized and taken down. Nothing to worry about, really. Just someone trying to impress his or her boss with some sound and fury .. signifying nothing.
  11. In the USA, there is a very old saying .. "P U!" means "Something smells really bad". I don't know if it's an acronym. regarding your additional edits .. you certainly know your business inside and out, sir.
  12. hi .. sorry to say but a simple glance at any FM merchant will show that many of his base designs are available in Crazy Hour dials. SO this is indeed a FM Long Island Crazy Hour. A 30 second search on Google could have shown this. As for the strap, Gran has a thread elsewhere where he spells out his strap supplier .. www.inspire-workshop.com lastly, Mary sells this piece for $88, last time I checked.
  13. Congrats for all the hard work and the successful resolution. As someone who knows enough about servers and Linux to get into a lot of trouble, I've been there and done that. It's always a miracle to find that un-corrupted database backup as a surprise. I've had "bullet proof" tape systems with miles of corrupted data on them .. A question, tho .. why are you archiving the entire DB nightly, instead of exponentially smaller incremental backups? Thanks for your efforts, and I'm glad to be able to read here again.
  14. People always freak out about shipments this time of year. Just wait a few weeks for Chinese New Year, and everything is delayed by a month. That's 3x more crazy, with 3x more people screaming about late watches.
  15. That reminds me. There is an Asia 7753 now. Zigmeister and others have done teardown reviews.
  16. New 1:1 McQueen from Josh ... asian movement version is ultra cheap. New folded link bracelets are widely available and very passable.
  17. If a dealer's QC photo shows crooked lettering then it is the perfect time to simply ask for a different watch. The dealer can always sell it to another person who is not so picky. I dont think it's bothersome to anyone involved.
  18. At a certain point you have to use the EMS tracking number with the US Postal Service, not China ... the package is handed to the USPS .. put the exact same number into the USPS tracking page.
  19. I have noticed that Mary will ignore mails from you if you write too often. This has not been my experience, but I read it often enough here. Being a small vendor, I suppose she does have to limit her email time in order to get the bigger job of buying, checking and shipping watches done in a timely manner.
  20. I don't understand your question. The sales page says it is an asian clone ETA movement with the GMT module. What do you think he is lying about? Why would someone lie about a movement being an Asia clone?
  21. Hi I agree with the points made by the other members here except takosan. Of course there is a date window bevel, he's simply missed it. The OGEV engraving is a tiny bit crooked, as mentioned before. Ask to see another piece he has in stock. I'm sure this one is just an oddball.
  22. I just received an EMS package yesterday from Hong Kong, and it is quite large and heavy. It took 4 or 5 days in total and arrived through a NY State airport/Customs station. The holiday season .nor the increased screening / enforcement of "heavy boxes" rumors mentioned here frequently did not seem to slow it down at all.
