Im not sure of what you mean by asking if Perfect Clones is "on the list" .. yes they are a trusted dealer here, if thats what you are asking.

I'm saying that the person at "the orange" who wrote that paragraph does not understand the difference between an ebouche and a complete movement. Small bespoke watchmakers who relied on ebouches for their process will have to buy from Selitta in the future but this option means they are not in serious trouble. They simply have to change manufacturers. Its odd that you ask this question today, since another thread is active on this board with a large quote from the president of Selitta, outlining how he intends to scoop up all the abandoned ETA ebouche business.
-
This an all too common mistake. The idea is completely incorrect. ETA is absolutely NOT stopping sales of complete movements. Anyone who says this is utterly confused. What ETA announced several years ago is that they are stopping the sale of incomplete movements to OEM makers outside of the SWATCH group. Incomplete movements are known as "ebouches" and are used by OEM makers as a foundation for their watches. Anyone with a bag of money could FAX ETA right now and order an entire 10,000 piece pallet of complete movements and have it delivered to their door.

I cant tell if the watch head and band are v5 but the bezel is not. It's a Josh Ultimate "bad 10" bezel. Show me the diver's extention screws and pins .. the Josh Ultimate is bad there and the v5 has it right. But for now .. it you bought a v5, you certainly at the very least got the wrong bezel if not the wrong watch.
-
Yes, you are. Simple as that. If you want it to stop, you have to use a rental "drop box" and not your home address any more.
-
Um ??? Look at the obscene bubble pearl and the retarded | 10| on the bezel. That's not a v5. It's an "Ultimate" like Josh sells.

The WM9 YM uses a genuine swiss engine. It's as reliable as any swiss gen out there. Which is to say that it requires service every 5 years, and should possibly be serviced as soon as you get it unless the movement is a true ETA "blister pak" pre-seviced movement direct from ETA or it's distributors. There are different qualities of genuine ETA movements in our replicas. Rarely, you get a brand new, in package, oiled and tested ETA movement. Mostly you get a bulk-purchased ETA movement in a little plastic clamshell case which probably needs a service, and lastly you rarely get a repaired ETA movement which could be decades old, from a used watch. If you care about the rep watch you buy, and intend to keep it for years, wear it for a month so that you get some wrist time, and then send it off to a reputable service place and have it cleaned, oiled, and regulated!

Either Lani or Pugwash or Ubi have posted complete parts lists here with numbers and prices and HTML links to the exact pages.

Ouch .. since you were the #1 cheerleader on this board for the new Ultimates, I am especially sorry that the one you received was such a turd.
-
Looking at that original, 1970 provenanced COMEX, it looks like most modders artificially age their "tritium" markers far too brown. This gen watch has more of a parchment tone to it than the golden dirt brown on the reps I see.
-
Im confused ... the cartel dealers sell the v5 now? And why would it need to be modded? It always had the perfect bezel .. the "Ultimate" DSSD has the bad bezel. Lastly, if the cartel sells the v5 now, have they finally sold all the bad crooked printed dials and come to fresh batch of perfect dials?

The 45mm UPO takes genuine parts. The parts for this Gen are not restricted like many other watches; you can buy them from watch part stores on the Internet. Genuine hands, dial, band, crystal, crown, tube ... all easy to purchase and use.

The new rolex clone movement is having teething problems. It's too new, and many reports of them dying after a short period can be found here. If you want a Rolex clone movement, I'd certainly wait several months or a year to let the factory possibly correct their design errors.

Gen Topic - Use an AD for service or independent service place?
Jkay replied to WatchnRoll's topic in General Discussion
Just to interject .. as we are talking about a Gen here, you wouldn't worry about Customs, loss or anything you worry about with shipping reps Internationally. Since it's a Gen, you can claim it for what it is on all the paperwork, insure it for full value .. tracking .. the whole nine yards. no shady paperwork, and insured for full value is completely different than shipping a rep across borders. -
Just to toss this fact out there ... the Gen DSSD does **not** have white numerals in the bezel. They are platinum/lt grey in color .. never white.

With reps being so good today...why buy a gen for thousands more?
Jkay replied to WatchnRoll's topic in General Discussion
The question has already been answered here, and in other threads .. and to semi-quote "the gen feels different emotionally" So ... there you have it in a nutshell. Many people can't be emotionally satisfied with a beautiful watch .. they have to KNOW they spent a fekking mint on it, or its just not good enough. Either you are satisfied with owning a watch as beautiful just as a Rolex or you must HAVE a "Rolex". Simple, really. -
It looks like the door of a poorly designed bank vault.
-
You're so right ... buying a watch that supposedly costs $x0,000 mounted on a cheap Chinese plastic strap is unforgivable There are several strap makers here on the board that would love to help you out, I am certain.

Not bad at all.

LOL that's hilarious. Good find, saber0606 Different watch, same old story ... "i found this and I don't like it so I'm selling it, no reserve, no returns!!" plaifender - I think the OP is quoting the eBay auction .. not SAYING he found the watch. No one would be stupid enough to post a fake watch auction to a web site for replica watches! That's clearly a quartz replica of a limited edition B&R.

After I posted a review in the "Other dealers" area, someone asked for a pic of the blk/wht UPO ... so here it is, and YES the factory has not run out of the wrongly spaced 600m/2000ft dials yet. You can see the issue here. Watchwoot plainly warns that this is the case on their web site, but I needed a blk/wht for a birthday present.

I have to admit ... it has more style than just holding a watch in each hand and twirling them for 5 minutes.
