There is confusion but people seem to be MAKING it more confusing ... it's very simple really. If you order a DSSD v5 from Eurotimez, you automatically get the latest version of the v5 ... it's really that easy. They are not keeping a crate of v5.0 watches to send to people who don't specifically ask for a v5.427 ... OK? Just order a v5 and you get the latest revision!!

Rolex does not AR their watch crystals. Some Rolex watches with magnifying cyclops lenses have a tiny AR spot under the cyclops. Nothing more. Their reason is that AR gets scratched and worn, and they don't like that. You could AR your DSSD or ANY Rolex watch crystal but it certainly would not be authentic. As for the DSSD's "loupe effect" .. it is a very very thick crystal in the Rep and in the Gen as well. It's certified for almost four kilometers depth!! So yes, there is a lens effect. My v5 needs to be tilted +45 degrees to view this effect, however.

Ok ... in that case, I don't know. Let's see a close-up of the bezel to body/head joint and look for a seam!

Careless assembly ... even if a watch replica is SUPPOSED to be waterproof, does not mean that the person who put it together remembered to place the gasket ! And lack of interest. The Chinese factory does not really want or care to make their replicas perfect. They want to create a watch for the least cost, which will sell for the most money. Isn't that what 99% of all businesses want?

The Russians have developed laser re-constitution of torn and damaged spinal cartilage. Basically they discovered that if you heat it with a laser, the tears vanish ... at least that's what I read. They are using it successfully on nasal cartilage now as well, to reform nasal passages without hyper-painful and bloody sinus surgery. At least, that's what I hear.

KB (bergie) has stated that the rep glasses he sells have UV coatings, not just coloration. This would make them as safe as gens.

"Gen" DRSD has a bi-directional bezel? That automatically would disqualify it for use as a diving watch.

You are correct. The crystal of the DSSD is very very thick and it's almost impossible to get clean shots of the dial due to it's slight distortion and the super-high reflectivity of non-AR crystals .. even the very famous Gioarmani review of the V5 uses a replacement "thin" crystal to get clean dial shots. It looks like there's a thin "dummy" crystal in some of these photos and NO crystal in the last two pics. With the DSSD crystal in place it is very difficult to see ANY rehaut "ROLEXROLEX" engraving.

As far as I'm aware, all BR chrono models are too thick compared to the Gen, due to the space needed for the extra gearing needed to replicate the chrono functions. They are noticeably thicker. Asking which is closest to Gen ... well ... none of them Just buy one you really like! I bought a Quartz powered model to get the nice slim case.

The four screws around the crystal are not cosmetic. They are the screws you remove in order to open the watch. Unscrew the tiny screw in the back, gently depress the button beneath that scew as you pull on the un-screwed crown, to remove it. Then remove the 4 screws around the crystal and the entire face should come off in your hands. The movement can then be removed without any further action unless this model has tabs on the interior of the case which hold the movement in place. Trust me on this ... it's not magic .. the entire face of the watch comes off. It might seem difficult to prise it up, depending on the waterproofing method this factory uses. Here you can see the seam, which is hidden very well on your particular model:

Whoops! Hehe .. you'll find that "bright steel" is a myth, my friend. Many times here people hold gen and rep together and they look the same. This is a re-lumed V5 or I'm a shaved ape. edit: whoops .. I should read the entire thread before babbling .. I see it's already been confirmed. edit x2: another tell is the re-lume .. the large markers are domed now, instead of flat as they should be. You can't scrape the old lume out, so you have to make pretty little dome out of the new lume. Same as my Ziggy re-lume'd v5

The lume on the V5 has always been nicely blue .. maybe you are thinking V3, which has combo colors of green-blue and blue on different pieces.
