  1. Yeah. I have trouble getting the hands back on too. 0_o
  2. Watchbitz' springbar benders work really well for POs and others where the bracelets are hard to fit (FMs). Definitely worth the investment in this game.
  3. Have met a few aussie members from the forums (+one not registered here at rwg). All good peeps, naturally. Brisneyland.
  4. Looks great. Love this watch. I've heard Mary is very good but might be worthwhile to asked for a shot or two with the chrono reset. Just to see if everything is aligned nicely. Otherwise, enjoy!
  5. Well said. It could ony go to your mama insults from here, so I think we're done anyway.
  6. OMG! My apologies. I didn't notice that you were here since DAY ONE. I know how you class of '06ers are the shining rep gods of the universe. There are other old school members here too, but they don't feel the need to diss noobs in every [censored] post they make. You think i should respect you because your join date is earlier than mine? Newsflash, there are many early join members who i do respect. But not you. I respect you about as much as I respect wet farts. Actually... less. You didn't create this whole scene Johnny come ignorantly. Without noobs there'd be no damn scene. Just you two jerking each other off about how 7-years-ago-core you are in between bong hits or oxys or whatever it is you pair of galahs are clearly on. Can you imagine it? John G - OMG pho, did you know Maria is actually a dude? Phoband - I do now! John G - How awesome are we? Phoband - Pretty awesome! John G - Another bong handsome? Wake up to yourselves.
  7. Lol. Carry on mate. You're encouraging others (apparently anyone with a newer join date than you) to know the facts. But you sprout your own outdated info - the wives tales of yesteryear - as the current facts. Times have changed old man. If your info was ever correct, it isn't anymore. It's you who needs to do some research. You've been away too long. You're a born again noob. If there are any fellow noobs still reading this hot mess, there's a lot of good info out there. Very little of it from 1995 or whenever is still relevent.
  8. Cool story bro. All wrong though. (that rhymes, and you know it rhymes, admit it!) At least you've proven one thing as correct, this forum needs more off topic banter.
  9. You're right. It was a name given to these guys by people on the forums. But it's a misnomer. It is the makers/suppliers (commonly referred to as 'the factories') who define the prices, control the supply and level the threats. The dealers have their own issues based on competition (DDOS anyone) but they're not the real cartel.
  10. Some of the info in this thread is incorrect or at best... outdated - Eddie Lee? Superseded by the cartel in large a year ago. Now completely done with the 127. Just check the sales forum on every forum. - Maria? Who cares? I'm sure it was cool to be around in those days when things got kicked up a notch in SAE but that was the old days. The current generation will remember the HF/NF war for advancing the quality of reps. - The Cartel actually means the factories, not the dealers. - Don't believe the dealer hype? The dealers are at the whim of factories - so don't believe the factory hype is more accurate. - Mobilising the community or voting with your wallet to improve rep quality? Useless - consumers will still buy the best of what's available. We actually have the likes of DSN, LH and perhaps folks like DW and his ilk to thank for the cartel improvements. They're not called the cartel because they like competition - Forums irrelevant as a minor part of the cartel sales? It would seem odd if the forums were such a small piece of the pie that the cartel would level death threats at certain individual over a post on the forums, so I'm calling nonsense on that as well. - Waterproofing? Nowadays the tolerances are decent enough that we can achieve some level of water resistance by simply by checking and lubing the seals providing the crystal has been fitted correctly. Even the chronos (the exception being the HBBs, though this might be better in the V6). I'm not saying you can trust it, I’m saying you should check it. Like I said, I'm sure it was cool to be around back then and see some great advances in the hobby. But they belong in the rep museum. It's like extolling the virtues of the amazingly advanced briefcase sized 'mobile' phone in comparison to today’s smartphones. That was then, this is now. I'm not an expert at anything, but these are the real facts as they are currently understood and believed by the masses (and they could change tomorrow). Great for the older members to reminisce, but not of any value to pass on to today's noobs.
  11. Love it. Best phone and messenger I've ever had. You've got the best of both worlds with the torch. Save the apps for your other though - they work well opn BB because of the way they're developed but are largely much more expensive than their android/iphone counterparts, and of course there's less choice. As much as I enjoy the touchscreen only smartphones. They can't compete with the making and taking calls and messaging with confidence aspect of BB, email setup etc etc. The BBs are tools, the others are more entertainment orientated IMO. and certainly less reliable for making business calls all day. The BB torch battery last me 4 days under heavy use btw. Even though the BB torch does all media/apps etc, i save that for iphone/android. Actually the BB torch beat iphone at their own game last year - winning best music player on a smartphone at PC world or Cnet or gsm arena or something (can't find the link - might have actually related to BBOS6 not the torch alone) and in the top 5 camera phones (http://www.cnet.com....0-339304995.htm) last year at Cnet. Also, as i'm sure you know the BB hardware is tough. First BB i had lasted for four years. . But as theyre tools for me, Im pretty hard on them. Back on topic, i've decided that choosing betwen the gs2 on the nexus is too hard, so i'll wait for the quad cores which should be coming soon. i'm a huge fan of android. It's not for this missus i suppose, but i like to tinker Another tip for the op, I read just the other week that if you're buying a GS2 from an american carrier who badge their phone like verizon or ATT or someone, you have to very careful of the model specifics for the gs2 - one of them (and not the other from their competitor) has proprietry single core processor, unlike samsung's own dual core - making the nexus a waaaaay better option. This would be easy to google
  12. Wow, that playbook must have sunk them. Will read up on it now... I have all three, BB (torch), iPhone and samasung galaxy. For me, the BB is the best phone and messenger - hands down. not for apps - but for making and taking calls and sending receiving messages of all kinds. So it's best for business/work. I'll be shattered if samsung buys them no matter how much I'm a fan of samsung's hardware. Other than that, if you want an opinion by someone who owns and uses them all, the android surpassed the iphone quite some time ago - though i dont have a 4s (which i believe is the only one released that is specced properly to run the OS to date). Again, just opinion for my uses.
  13. Lol the iPhone fanboys gotta chime in even on an Android thread? These days, comparing iPhone to android is like comparing them to BB. Apples and oranges.
  14. Well then the daytona must be just for posing. If you have a gshock on one wrist theres no need for any other watch. The Gshock can do everything that the other watch can do and do it better. Haha! Classic!
  15. Choose the Galaxy nexus if you use your phone for the so called 'smarter' aspects of smart phone use (office apps, web apps, web browsing, news and weather etc etc etc), choose the GS2 if you like gaming. The reasons are too long for here, but the nutshell is it's about processing architecture. While its arguable that they're roughly equal, the experst say the gs2 can only outperform the nexus at gaming. Choose the GS2 if you like tinkering and making your phone do things it's not supposed to as it will remain the most supported by hackers and Dev scenesters. Choose the Nexus if you'll keep it stock and want a beautiful HD screen and timely/first official updates and official support. I'm in a similar boat to you, but my dilemna is choosing between the Nexus and and the flood of quad core (promising more power than the two above) HD phones that are sure to hit the market mid year this year. Don't get a gs1. You can get a low end android these days that will outperform the gs1 with a custom rom. For a third of the price. Such as the galaxy ace
  16. No issues at all. In fact we're one of the quickest places to ship to from china (4 days to queensland on the large). Enjoy.
  17. You got the reaction you deserved because your post doesn't read as anything helpful at all. Rather, it reads like a ball achingly painful monologue about how you're so old school and everyone else is a noob. What's up with all the noob dissing btw? Did a noob steal your girlfriend or something? MMA <-- championing noob rights (and saying what everyone else is thinking) since 2012.
  18. To summarise the horse [censored] above... Dude disrepects noobs but wants them all to be impressed that he's been around since 2005. Way to be here since 2005 man.
  19. ^Looks like i win this thread.
  20. Tried about 4 mesh straps before getting the gen. Hi and lo end. The best was a buckle style job from ebay that cost $25. Most even the high end were so uncomfortable they were unwearable. The gen mesh on the other hand is truly something else
  21. Gidday Mate. Welcome. Watch your step... the slope here is slippery.
