Righteo smartarse. It was a mod obviously. Hence the post.

And it's changed back now without comment... Whoever it was doesn't have the nuts to say?
-
Member title. I didn't write this. Pretty sure it's not forum standard issue... who changed it?

Just about to pull the trigger ...........

So that's why our movements are so full of crap... They do the pearleage AFTER assembling the movement. -
This proves just how hard it is to go off while you're sitting down. Cool though. I'm sure Kook Cocaine would love it.

I think this belongs in the "all caps" section.

Thanks! It has one really good feature. It makes it very easy to get the hands perfectly level to the dial
-
I resetted the hands. i found it best to set at 12 like normal but because the minute hands covers the hour it can be slightly off. It needed to be checked around the dial. I used the end of the sausage markers and point of the hands to get it spot on.. I had another go at the roller lever. Not like that gen pic the other day but much better than stock (looks better IRL): had another go at the crown too and actually refinished the inside of crown head neatly. Its lost a bit of snap though. Really need a source for theose flat orings: These aren't really mods, but here's a pic showing the panatime lug screws. Not perfect but much better than the stock ones which were pointy at screw end and rounded at the head end. They also fill out the lug holes better - they're slightly longer: And as Ebzen said (elsewhere). Necessity makes you grow a pair. It's also the mother of invention. So here's my panerai "custom non-marring handtool" (my pressers dont have a hole large enough) Thanks again all

A large part of my work life is reading (editing) so in recent years i've found reading feels too much like work (and i can't turn off the darn editing). So recently i've been reading Bourdain's books and the UK Wallpaper Mag. I guess lately i prefer to read authors who write in a direct to reader or colloquial/conversational manor.

Thanks guys! I'll have to reset the hands, they appear to be five mins out on the hour. Lesson learnt. It's best to test the allignment in all positions before pressing fully.
-
Thanks! I was very careful with the hands. I used Offshore's levers for the job. But for the seconds hand I fashioned levers tool from thick printer paper (it's sits higher on this movement).

I know this is pretty pedestrian for many of you but, usually when I mod a watch I end up breaking three watches in the process. Here's my first successful/useful mods ever. Platinum hibeat movement from josh: Flattened/polished canon: Crown spacing. Is this enough? ^^ also refinished the CG and pin. The brushing on mine was pretty rough before and the pin sat proud. I smoothed the roller pin. Not nearly as much as gen, but a slight improvement. Will have another stab at it. I added panatime lugs screws cos they're flatter and slightly longer. Would love to hear some critiques if I've gotten something wrong or not enough, missed something etc... Thanks to all the great peeps at RWG and WC for picking faults and posting how to fix them.

Aren't there certain gears in there that will only work turning in one direction? It's kind of a cool idea.. With a reversed dial it would still tell the time. And date according to the post above.

These are great. The girl is a babe. I choose images for magazine publication all week long and I'd use these. Don't worry, there's plenty of scope for the awkward foot one in the press world too (the foot and facial expression could be used for all sorts of editorial). One thing though - the ones with the eye dressing. These are so popular out there in photog world atm. So is the japanese and thai inspired makeup (women and men apparently). Thing is, they have nearly no practical use. I've used one once for a beauty column about eye makeup and never again but I must see a new lot every week. Are they a standard photog school exercise now or something? great pics man.

Do the tourbillons spin? Softserve 328 today.

Ahh yes, I'd forgotten about the lume. I haven't actually owned the rep (I own the gen) but i've held two of them and they were very good. Didn't notice anything about the bezel except that its much smoother on the rep.
-
I've got a UPO with zig lumed dial hands and pearl. I also have the gen. Zig's lume is exactly spot on to the gen. Glows for as long (all night) glows the same colour and is the same colour in daylight/uncharged. You wont be disappointed.

I've had way more problems with 2836s and 2824s in reps than i have with 7750s. YMMV...
-
Good choice. It's extraordinarily close to gen as well. If i wasn't into reps as hobby, i doubt i'd be able to tell. The only real tell is the sharpness of the bevel on the hour markers. To see that you need to hold the watch up to your nose (and know what you're looking for).

Slevin ftw. yes it wears a little larger (crowns and bezel edge style)

This thread is so gay.

I'm using your green anti-mag ones. They're very good for all purpose. Way beyond their pricetage in quality. Just little big once you get into the springs and things beyond the keyless.

I lost just one clicking nub from mine (because these things are made of an alloy of exhaust pipe steel and butter). I have four spare pam bracelets. One new style one from for a pam 161, one from a 7753 chrono, a 24/20 tapered from a pam 220 and a 24/22 from i don't know what.... four different deploys btw. None of them could be swapped because the 328 uses a smaller joint/pivot where clasp attaches to the bracelet. Likewise none of the parts could be swapped into the deploy. You need parts from this actual bracelet which you cant get from the dealer. The solution? back to china (yep ).

This is what i need. Really good quality tweasers. And a really good quality, really small set of tweasers (currently setting the date jumper spring on assembly with a needle ) Congrats.
