  1. Same size at the seiko on the left in your pic. Though as I was thinking the monster would be a bad idea for this, as the monster's bezel and crown design makes it 'wear' different to it's actual size, I remembered i do still have a HBB left. It's a quartz crappy street rep but the case is the same size as a good rep/gen Will post back a bit later with a pic for you.
  2. I've asked for these before so would be happy to help you with a pic. Unfortunately, I dont have any HBBs... any other watch you want to see a Pam beside? I have a couple seiko monsters for example.
  3. Yep, the Hfactory pams and a7753 come to mind. Would be interesting to read Zigs updated thoughts now with these inclusions.
  4. The problem with dailies is that they are american centric. A lot of us are ahead of you by many hours and americans are often like "still sunday here" when non amercians make a wristy post. The original 1st-5th was better - it allows EVERYONE to post in a timeframe that suits them. It's why every other forum on the interweb does multi-day wristchecks.
  5. I decided against them all for now. Very cool devices but cant do exactly what i need from just yet so will wait it out and keep to laptops in the meantime. During my lengthy research process though there were three that caught my eye. The new 7in Galaxy. The Asus transformer. And a cheapy chinese device that had the same spcs as the Galaxy V1 (except the screen). It caught my eye because it was only $150 and android 2.1.
  6. I'm a huge fan and think it's a pity. I was eagerly awaiting the forthcoming album which, if any progress was actually made, will now be cobbled together by record execs and marketers. Two things though: this as news, pales in significance the the Norway incidences. And secondly. I never thoguht she was hot. Edit to add: @subbiesrock: are you aware that your WTB sig is unreadable? Even on a 27in monitor?
  7. I dont have anything to add to what Automatico and Red said above. All good stuff My only advice, is NOT to twist the stem slightly (as advice is sometimes given) when reinstalling. Doing that is how i buggered up most of the Keylesses that i have. Use your screw driver on the detente ever so slightly, and gently, carefully and above all very straightly put it back. Good luck!
  8. I use a kind of wax too. The stuff in my sig, which is actually a lube, gives brushed finishes an excellent shine.
  9. I see your point and what you're talking about bugs me too but i'm not jaded yet. So i share info where i can because i appreciated it when it was shared with me. Truth is, for members like me - who arent part of "the old guard" a term that older members love to throw about to the exclusion of members like myself and newer (like bayronic there) - threads like "i miss this hobby" often come off elitist. Excluding newer members and in essence; doing more harm than good to the very hobby that the thread itself is lamenting. Times change. So does the active membership. Forums are for sharing info. Btw, Bayronic made the best post in that thread.
  10. What rolexman says is true but to be a little kinder to a new member... There is really so much info about on it that it would be impossible to summarize in one post. A really good place to start your reading is down in the watchmaking tech part of the forum. Look for The Zigmeister's posts. The only nutshell i can give is my own experience with them... They're great!. To me the 7750's have been more reliable and keep better time than the 28XX movements (2336, 2824, 2892 etc). Don't go nuts with the chrono feature. Don't change the date between 10pm and 2am (even with gen swiss watches with high end 7750s). Don't hand wind them. Have it serviced if it's a keeper. A service should be guaranteed for 6-12 months and should be good to keep the watch ticking for about 5 years. Most of all dont worry too much about them. Or surly forum posts. Just enjoy. It's why we're here
  11. Pretty clever and decent way to change up the looks imho. I don't mind white on watches. Even straps. but agree with the others, it doesnt suit this one.
  12. hahah, as much as i love them... you know what? They do suck! Hahaha. well said OP.
  13. I had this problem on my (old school - no rehaut engrave) n00bmariner. It was getting tighter and tighter until it couldnt be turned anymore. I put the watch in a bench vice that had rubber jaws - bezel edge only, not too tight - and turned. With a little force the bezel started to turn freely again. Just like new. The problem has never returned.
  14. He'll be heaps getting any more pasalubong from his bro-in-law.
  15. Yes, but it's why the hands are loose that could be an issue.
  16. It's true excercise does increase wrist size significantly. Since I've started working on toning down my wrist size has dropped at least a 1/2 inch. Dont worry OP, the Tag calibre 1 is still big, but wears quite smaller than this
  17. I send mine to The Zigmeister (canada) it's worth the money.
  18. There are some aussie repairers about although it would be much more beneficial to try to source one locally to you for repairs. It's just a matter of chatting the local guys up about auto swiss movements and going from there. Regarding modders, the short answer is no. The longer answer will become clear the longer you hang around
  19. Yes it's fixable. Hopefully it's just a matter of reattaching loose hands.
  20. Hehe, dont bother with the steel then, they wear even bigger with on a bracet. They seem to wear a little smaller on lether though.
  21. Had to come back and correct myself. I have two UPOs. I was just refitting a bracelet on my pumpkin and noticed a difference between my other one that i was talking about above^^ . On the pumpkin bracelet the clasp pin you're referring to is indeed swagged, The other one is not, it's just a regular regular bracelet tube and pin. Dont know if this is factory revision or user mod as i bought the non-swagged one from a user not new.
  22. I'm just glad this episode saw a departure from the redundant overt sexual drama. So asinine. Hopefully it will continue to be watchable now.
  23. Hangon... [censored] is censored? How strange. Pics or it... happened, but we didn't get to see any pics.
  24. The short is answer is yes. The longer answer depends on on what you mean by yes. If you mean accuracy to gen - then yes. If you mean better build quality/material used/finishing the answer would be - sometimes if not most the time. Sometimes the cheapies utilise the same chassis, crystal and finishing like AR as the more expensive model - mostly they dont though and upon closer inspection are nothing at all like the $300 rep or the gen If you mean reliablility of the timepiece - hmm, not unless it's serviced. It's arguable that the cheaper watches with quartz or 21j movements are more reliable even if the movement makes them less accurate. However, once a high end rep is serviced professionally, it can be on par or even better than a genuine watch many times it's value. it's confusing at first. Its best to just jump in a buy one, or two, or fifteen.
  25. Buy from trusted dealer Watchbitz. Great prices and you'll have them quick. He's based on the Goldy. oh and welcome cobber.
