Not that i've seen, but you can see that only the rotor gets the treatment as you'd expect
-
Can have a look at the new ladymatic rep to see what sort of treatment the movement would get.

Dear England, Now who has the convicts? Sincerely, Australia.

O.O ... do my eyes believe me? In all my life i've never read a more tactless sentence. "Previous people"? Indigenous means european immigrants or anything but indigenous? Be safe for the sake of debate? Ridiculous.
-
I'm sure that this is just a poorly chosen word. Interesting that you used it in this discourse... I wonder what the indigenous would say about this scenario.? Afterall, doesn't whats happening here, the concepts we're talking about, draw some HUGE parralels to the arrival of the Europeans in countries like America and Australia (amongst many others)? Lets boil it down. We're talking about huge amount of immigrants arriving with no intention of observing the local customs and assimiliating to the detriment of the existing culture. I'm sure American Indians and Australian Aboriginals see the irony. It sounds awfully familiar. Btw, im giving teejay an award for creating a thread with legs.

I live in Australia. I believe that's "nuff said". -
Sorry for whole quote, but this excellent post would lose it's context if i edited it, so i bolded the parts i'm referring to... This is the sentiment held by 'born here' Australians. I agree with it. The educated left argue that this is a sentiment only held by the uneducated. But in my own personal experience i know this to be fact. The aggressive irony of those new Australians who come here with nothing... who came here because there was very little to attain in their original country... who came here because of the opportunities that that good Aussie "hard yakka" (working hard) presents... yet expect more entitlements than citizens - is astounding. The thing is, i am also well educated. Does it make me uneducated by default because i personally know successful Filipino business owners who collect the dole (welfare) here but operate their businesses back home? I also personally know two elderly Englishmen who recieve aged welfare payments from both the Australian and UK governments. I personally know an entire family of Chinese who own a 'wildest dreams' mansion here in Aus that sits empty for 9 months of the year but they still manage to rort our system. They collect welfare here yet operate a very successful business out of Hong Kong. I know a person of Greek heritage who escaped a prison sentence here for a pretty nasty crime by fleeing back to greece even though it meant he would have to do National service there (the reason he came to aus in the first place). I know Lebonese australians who portend to hate australia and other Australians (not just white people), yet love their free government payments. I know Malaysian immigrants who won't mingle or even work with non-muslims because of their beliefs. if i thought a little harder about it, i'm sure i could come up with many more example from my own circle of friends just like these examples. It's a land of opportunity alright. We’ve golden soil and wealth for toil but who's toiling it and who's reaping the rewards of that toil? I also know people from just about every heritage on the planet, including those mentioned above who are honest, and love the country and are assimilated perfectly. We are an entire nation of immigrants - just ask someone from any of the 600ish cultures of Australian indigenous. It's complex. The situation here in Aus is quite worriesome. Our future will be highly complex. An ideal solution (that would maintain our very high standard of living and quality of life), while remaining culturally sound (and I mean culturally sound from any perspective) is highly unlikely. One thing is for sure - we do need to raise the population for the benefit of all Australians present and future. this, i believe is the fundamental complexity of the immigrant problem/solution. An even bigger irony, one that the educated do have correct (providing they are actually intelligent), is that any argument, facts, examples and theory like the above, can be dissected and disagreed with a counter argument, facts, examples and theory. Yet both perspectives could be seen as correct. My opinion is that it's such a complex problem that it needs a simple solution. A line in the sand - an abitrary point put into policy and law from which to go forward from. The greatest good for the greatest number - yes i know how that sounds to people who allign themselves with either end of the spectrum. I'll suggest the first step in the process. We need to boot that bloody ginger moron out as quick as we can. We dont need to add global laughing stock to our current list of tricky problems.

Help from the best choosing wedding watch
mastrmindalliance replied to Lil princess's topic in General Discussion
You guys wear tuxedos to weddings? I thought they were the equivalent of Dinner Suits 0_o Jkay's point is perfectly sound and I change my stance to agree. Just make sure it's not going to stop ticking or have the crystal or braclet fall off during the day. You can also rent Gens as someone else mentioned. -
a7750 mainspring unwound?
mastrmindalliance replied to mastrmindalliance's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Yahoo! Fixed and back on the wrist! Thanks for your help FixerAndy and Rolexman. It's always nice to have to have a win the first time you tinker with a new movement and i couldnt have done it without both your insights. I do doubt the longevity though as the spring had be straightened. So its probably 'sprung' now. I'll endeavor to get a replacement and offshore's moebius oil and go back in at some stage. I'll be adding checking bridge screw tightness to my list of todos when i receive a rep from here on in. Thanks once again guys. Edit: thanks again Rolexman, we posted at the same time - i did leave it a little bent -
a7750 mainspring unwound?
mastrmindalliance replied to mastrmindalliance's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Darn it, looks like i've found the problem. The spring mentioned above (the "stop click" spring or part 1428 on the 7750) is bent beyond a right angle). i will try straightening it, but i know it will require a new part. edit; just before i do, i better check that it the a7750 isnt supposed to be bent like this: it's supposed to be perfectly straight isn't it? -
They do look good. i especially like that padded/tunnel strap. Well done.

a7750 mainspring unwound?
mastrmindalliance replied to mastrmindalliance's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Thanks for the replies guys that would make sense as it ticked along for about 8 hours after that. Rolexman, everything else appears in order with the naked eye and to someone with no 7750 experience at all. For those who know about 7750s, a quick question before i pull it down... is there anything particularly tricky or unforseen under that plate? Like, this isn't one of those parts that bits fly out from the movement once removed is it? Any general tips or cautionary tales for a first time 7750 tinkering on this side of the movement? Should i be popping dial and hands for this? once again, any insight is much appreciated. -

a7750 mainspring unwound?
mastrmindalliance replied to mastrmindalliance's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Thanks Andy, and I think you're onto it. I think can actually see that little spring clicking on the top wheel through the little hole. Many posts here have put the fear into me about tinkering on a7750s but I'll give it a go. As pretty as the watch is, one thing's for sure, if i break it i'll just part it. This isnt worthy of sending to The Zigmeister. Hope they come out with new version from different maker. -
Hi, hoping someone might be able to help with a little bit of knowledge. My 328 with a7750 has recently been back to china. After getting it back I thought I could hear the rotor catching on the movement. I took the caseback off to check the screw. Tight. No problem there. There was a problem though - two of the blued plate screws were loose inside case. These two marked with green arrows: After some research finding where they belong - I went to replace them. As I was screwing the second one in, the movement made a noise and motion that gave me a bit of a startle. A quick two second hi-speed "whir" and a little vibration. I didn't think it was the watch at first. I thought I'd imagined it. So I put the rotor back on and spun it with toothpick to check it spun even, as I always do. Uhoh - maybe I wasn't tripping before - it now has clicky resistance in both directions. A bit more research around the web uncovered similar symptoms with bad reversing wheels allowing the mainspring to unwind. Two unusual things though - it doesn't turn the rotor when I wind the crown - this seemed to a symptom of all the bad reversing wheels I read about. The other strange thing, it's been ticking away happily for about an hour now since it unwound (if thats what it did do). I figure if it unwound it would have no PR left...? So two questions, a statement and apology... Q:Does it sound like the mainspring caused by a bad reversing wheel to you? Q: Could I fix this myself? My skill level is such that I can successfully fix things around the keyless works and little beyond in a 2836 and 2824. I know this is a completely different beast. Statement: this rep is the crappiest build quality of any I have bought. The steel is so soft you have to place it on velvet pillow like the bloody crown jewels so it wont ding. Seriously, if you scratch your [censored] with this thing on, the bracelet will need refinishing and parts have been falling off it, inside and out like a leprotic zombie since the day I got it. it sure is pretty though Apology: sorry for the long post Any help appreciated.

She looks alright in the first two, but in the last two she has a head like a half sucked mango.

What happened to my seconds hand post?
mastrmindalliance replied to redwatch's topic in The Rolex Area
This won't help you fix it but i know what may have hapenned to - because i've done it myself... I did this same thing trying to remove the seconds hand, on it's own, with a bergon hands remover. My dealer graciously offered to fix it by replacing the entire post and pinion. -
Yep the MBL is a stunningly good rep. It does need AR though. They come with good looking AR stock, but it's very soft. Outside AR marks very easily.
-
No worries. IMO the pams wear much bigger than HBBs. Pam chronos even more so. If you can pull that^ off, the hbb is totally doable.
