Hehe, with a jewellers hammer i expect. The problem with using a paperclip is that it will rust.
You're right though, the pins on PO bracelet are junk, in fact the PO bracelets in general are. I've had to use locktite just to keep links with no showing pins together.
The good thing is the locktite works very well.
Good luck.
Pretty keen on one of these as my only AP and have been reading all the first impressions on the board. One request, can you point out the part you're referring to here on a pic please?
A little update. I had to go to the PO again (a different one this time) because my new 328 is falling apart like a teenager with a fresh pimple on prom night. The other PO seemed a little more knowledgable about it. Said it's a "charge back" from the US postal service. I asked if it was australia only and she said no. Said other countries may be dealing with it differently but it's now standard for the US.
Someone else said it has been in affect for a while but i shipped to the US 3 weeks and didn't get charged this fee.
yes, you're probably right, I just lumped it in becuase of what it says on the reciept. Probably US only. 'UPS' was a typo on my behalf. USP (for u.s. post i assume) is printed on the reciept and the lady said specifically that it was a charge from the us postal service.
Hi, just a heads up.
There's a new UPS charge being levied on all registered mail to the US and Canada. It's 9AUD or 10USD. Here's a pic from a receipt this morning (the tracking number has been blocked out):
I asked about it of course and the lady said it's a "security handling surcharge by the US postal service".
It's now more expensive to send registered mail to the Conus than Europe.
edit: someone just let me know that this has been in effect since august last year for parcels over 500g. So another FYI - this is for all registered post. This particular parcel only weighed about 300g.
This is absolutely true.
There are reps in HK, good ones even if you stick your nose in the cracks, but my friends in HK - both locals and expats - slip across to the mainland to buy theirs.
Prolly not what you want to hear but true.
Actually, at first i regretted mine here. A bit like calling oneself "mensabrains" or "betterthanyou" I know my nick doesn't make a good first impression.
When I stumbled across this forum trying to ID a swiss gen in the collection i didn't realise there was a rep scene. I didn't even know that RWG was a place for reps. Anyway, thought I'd be in and out... So i grabbed the closest nick handy - mastrmindalliance. It's an old console hacking nick. A nick from scene very different to this one.
If i could do it over again i'd probably go with "Jetpants".
A loooong time before here i stole the term from an aussie hip hopper - Mass MC. He brought out an album called Mastermind Alliance. here's a track. It's very tongue in cheek and funny in an aussie way:
The avatar is just a funny pic to me. I love Futurama.
On a side note, I've always thought it would be a fun thread game to try to guess the derivation/meaning of others nickames.
Ok, got that sorted out^ but hurrumph... Can't manually advance the date in time setting, though it turns perfectly in date setting position.
So near... yet so far.
Could try letting some air out.
For the dssd i originally used a glass jar opener - which is circular piece of rubber about 2mm thick - looks like a circular rubber drink coaster and can be bought from kitchen shop/dept stores etc. Laying it flat over the back, and gripping/turning the ring with thumb and side of forefinger
very grippy
