  1. The 2893-2 will require a different crown position, issue with hands, etc. I'm not sure that's going to be possible, at least not without some severe mods.
  2. I'm not 100% sure of that. From what I've heard the issue is the case height.
  3. let me see if I can explain better. The gen the middle minute hand seems to be pinched in (like an innie) with the CP cap pushing it down. The rep has the center of the minute hand flat with the CP and in many of the new 88s (you're lucky to have it flushed) the CP sits higher than the hand. The result is when the light hits the CP you see the distortion on the center of the hand on the gen while with the rep the effect is not there. It's the kind of thing you have to have the two side by side to notice but if you are familiar with the gen it's very easy to spot, even on your wrist. Photos are not the best to judge these things but here's a high res one that shows a little bit of the effect (click on it to see full size). Go to the AD and look at it.
  4. In some the CP looks flush but that's just a gimmick when they put the minutes hand. The CP cap is taller than it should be and eventually the minute hand may come lose. Besides the CP is wider than the gen and it creates a different visual effect. Yours is good but it's noticeable different from the gen.
  5. Most dark complexion women do but usually they bleach them. As for the watch it looks like a quartz one. Those subdials are awful.
  6. if you care about accuracy go with the 029 since it's almost indistinguishable from the gen, including quality of finish. The 088 has a few issues, the sec@9 subdial is darker than it should be, the canon pin/center of the hands is very different from the gen (and very easy to tell on the wrist). But if you like that style better it's a great rep.
  7. now this is precious. Someone else taking your pics are gens after a fire http://watchanish.tumblr.com/page/28
  8. That's the classic fusion SS (http://www.1-pc8838....ia-p-10793.html). Although the gen is zirconium you won't notice the color difference unless you have the gen side by side. Make sure it has the right movement. Many rep models come with this one, which is too far from the gen Here's the gen
  9. I don't think so, only rubber and the faux croc. The gen does though. Maybe the factories will get on it if there's a lot of interest.
  10. hey mate, no offense meant, just that the turtles are endangered and should be protected. Also that you can get in trouble if this happens in the US (since you list your location as the Bay Area). Just as a reminder, collecting/owning reps in the US is not illegal.
  11. mate, not to be a downer but that's illegal. You can't touch or get this close to green sea turtles, specially if done in US waters. That's considered harassment under the Endangered Species Act of 1973.
  12. PP doesn't care what you're buying. The thing is very simple: if you pay for goods (if you send gift that's your risk) the seller has to provide shipping information to your registered addressed. Even if they do that you can claim you received an article that doesn't match description. PP will always side with the buyer.
  13. I went I little overboard and got this little set Awesome Awesome rep. The movement is exquisite (DW needs work though). For this one the only upgrade needed is my crystal This one looks very very expensive. Hard to capture in pics. New reliable movement and ARed cyclops. Mods in plan are CDG on the top movement plate and exposing gears/screws per gen. This one definitely needs AR on crystal and cyclops. Hopefully Chief will do the run in Jan. Flawless rep. I like it but the AR and CG bug me. Very impressive. I need to find the perfect strap though. Rep calf is too stiff.
  14. Pics would help. It's kind of hard to understand what's the problem with yours.
  15. Finally they got it right. Now I get why you put your franken 217 for sale
  16. well it's one thing when the factories had no interest or capability to build accurate PAM reps. Now they do and considering that another factory will have a v2 cheaper and probably better soon, I stand to my judgment of monstrosity.
  17. I'd ask for my money back. That lume job is amateur at best.
  18. it all depends on how much you paid for it. If it was around $250 then it could be fine.
