Folks,
I'm trying to replace the insert on my SSD with an OEM one but it would appear the OEM insert is larger than the rep. I don't want to force it in place but the only other option seems to be milling the bezel.
Options? Ideas?
just be mindful of the size. 12in/80cm is quite large. I use this same one for shots with my speedlite (the large tent is nice to bounce the flash). If you are going to use any continuous lighting be aware this is a very large tent to illuminate.
Case from the carterl, dial/hands from DSN, that's the best combination. Tony at asian7750 can get you the case.
I'm working on shortening the tube as well. Two options:
1) file the tube but that might damage the threads
2) replace the tube
I'm going to try 1 and if it fails, 2.
it won't work. I tired. The new model has the correct dimensions and it's slightly larger than the closed caseback rep. The caseback won't fit.
Overall the dial is pretty accurate (at least the black one is). The main issue with the missing lume between the A and P.
The movement will never be right but the gen has a solid 24K gold rotor, so gold is kind of right for this.
the main issue here is the fact the crown is too close to the case (strangely this is a common thing with this factory). I believe if you reposition the crown the CG lever will be right.
I'm comparing the pics of the OEM glossy dial and the rep and quite frankly the differences are minimal. All I can see is the 5-10-15 etc markers that are slightly fatter on the OEM. Apart from lume (which I don't care that much) the rep dial is almost perfect.
I'll probably save some money on this one. Am I missing something?
Yep the dial could be better but there's no good rep of this dial.
interesting caseback. Do you have a link?
ask for pics of the clasp and bracelet. Make sure you have screws and not pins.
