  1. Nice one Freddy. The Comex is one of the Rolies that I might get one day.
  2. This was a one time one thing. Too much work to get this one done. I started the project to get one crystal for me and ended up having to sell dozens. However If there's enough demand in the future I might do another run but I'm not planning it at this time.
  3. I'm in. I have a gen spring loaded crown that I can provide side by side comparison
  4. Crystals are sold out!!! Thanks everyone that participated in this project and provided feedback/pics/impressions.
  5. Again DO NOT remove the bezel. You don't need the H screw driver to replace the crystal.
  6. Do not remove the bezel. There's no need. Check this thread for instructions on how to replace the crystal.
  7. As a dive watch the gen is very good. I would not wear it out of the water though.
  8. They need to fix the bezel. That's the biggest let down for me. I don't even mind the happy feet since it's almost impossible to notice without a lupe. The weak lume (both bezel and dial) and bad insert will be noticeable from across the room.
  9. Bad lume on the bezel. Bezel insert is not sapphire and without AR, hence the grayish color on the picture.
  10. Asian ETA 2824-2, so no deal breaker for me.
  11. Here's a comparison of the rep2geek and mine made by member mt666tm
  12. You can use one of mine as well. Sapphire with correct thickness and Swiss standard double AR (not aftermarket AR).
  13. it looks great. I'm after a black ceramic myself. So hard to choose.
  14. Deniz, I've done a lot of research to get to the specs. I can't say for sure that all will have the exact same height but I haven't seen any that have a flush crystal. The reason it the effect you get on the beveled top of the crystal. Here's a pic (incidentally the Ice Bang and the All Black are shown).
  15. we all have to start somewhere As far as the new Pams, who knows? The factories are good to put teasers out and then months later something shows up. As a suggestion, I'd start with a closed caseback PAM like a 005 or 000. The finish on those rep movements are not very good.
  16. I love that 24. I'm wondering about one of those myself.
  17. Gorgeous watch. I love this IWC. I'm thinking about getting one of those. For me, since I'm traveling today, a nice GMT.
  18. Mate, we need more info than that. None of the current manual Cartel PAMs can be considered "best one to get". What are you looking for in a PAM? word of warning, there's a rumor (so far just a rumor) that a new batch of better looking PAMs are coming. So I'd wait a little. I also suggest you read reviews around the forum. There are many good looking Pams around, many that come up for sale (already modified) from trusted members. Davidsen is one of the best dealer for Pams around. I'd look at his watches first if you are looking for manual Pams. http://www.rwgforum.com/forum/72-davidsenjpn/
  19. I have checked for a number of the 44mm HBBs. I have not seen the Ice Bang in person but I believe for the All Black this is correct.
  20. This is a project that I started last year and now it's finally done. The HBB is an awesome rep but after spending some time at the AD I start noticing the few differences that now are bugging me (mainly date wheel and crystal). On the crystal side there are two major flaws with all HBB reps that I have seen: Incorrect crystal thickness Incorrect AR Here are some comparison pictures to show the differences. Here's the gen. Notice how the crystal is raised above the bezel. Photo courtesy of Shinzo And compare to the rep to see how it's flush with the bezel. This for me is a very noticeable difference that can be easily spotted. Since I couldn't find any good replacement for the stock crystal (others have tried but none have gotten this right yet) and decided it would be better to get the gen specs and send out for custom manufacturing. After a number of months, prototypes and emails I finally have my crystals. This week I was able to install one for a customer. Here's the result (with my thanks to the watch owner that allowed me to take these pictures). What do you guys think?
  21. Go for it. It will look a lot better (not a fan of anthracite dials myself). You can always revert back to the original and you certainly have the skills not to screw this up.
  22. think about it, if she had at least 2 neurons working on that empty head she would probably have a better job. I bet Fedex spends more time trying to figure out the logistics part not the human resources. That's why you get an incompetent driver working with an incompetent clerk. Coming to think of it, the manager of that facility has probably a lot of fault there too.
