  1. Rolex has a similar BS explanation (scratches, doesn't need it because the crystal is flat, blah blah). To be honest I don't feel the need to get AR on my Black Themes. The dial is very good without it.
  2. well at least they don't try and keep the watch from themselves
  3. I usually pause my shows and movies to try and identify nice looking watches. The thing that bugs me is to see Rolex, Cartier and Tag on the wrist of all the CSI shows. People that make not very much well dressed and wearing pricey watches in the field (dealing with all kinds of perils). TV is of course unreal but c'mon
  4. I have a few watches that only need a good relume on the hands like this one. I wonder if there's an affordable C1 kit somewhere.
  5. Yes, I bought the one in bracelet and ordered the rubber with it. It's a better deal.
  6. This is a great model and I had my crystal treated by Chief. It's amazing now.
  7. I think in some models the "invisible" crystal AR doesn't look that good, in others it's a must. Most Swiss manufacturers go with single side AR for the reasons you mentioned (scratches, etc). Some flat crystals don't have AR at all and I would leave them like that. When selecting pieces to send to Chief for AR I take the gen and legibility of the dial in consideration. There are few pieces that I have removed the outer AR. One thing is certain, rep AR sucks that's why we get so worked up with aftermarket but I would not add AR to a rep if the gen doesn't have it.
  8. Not really. There's a rumor of better quality PAMs about to be released from China. People are probably just selling their current ones to open space for the new ones
  9. curious: where do you get a thick crystal like that? I have looking for one for a Tag link but no luck.
  10. A few things: - If you send the crystal directly to Chief the turn around would be a lot less than that. About 1 month for me. - The Omega AR is NOT like Chiefs. Chief's AR makes the crystal invisible. The OEM is blueish and very hard to replicate. - Price wise Chief is a lot better deal.
  11. Oncyte, That 005 was once one of yours. It went thru a facelift but the core is still your work.
  12. what a poor review. He missed the most obvious details (Omega logo, pearl, dial color, seconds hand tip color, lume, and the list goes on) and highlighted incorrect things like the AR (not that the UPO has a great AR but it is double AR). What a useless review but again most gen owners know very little about watches to begin with. The rep community is much more technically savvy than those guys that barely know how to operate their timepieces.
  13. - Repolished case - LH hands and CG - T48 - Vac lumed dial - OEM JV - Ultimate 156 - Gen hands - Vac lumed dial (matching hands) - OEM black croc
  14. I have a full OEM case set (case, bezel, crystal, CG). I can sell it to you if you are interested.
  15. Number 1 - Hilarious that there are people over there that would prefer an Invicta over a WM9 Number 2 - I would love to answer to the Q: "what do they discuss there" A: how overpriced many gens are and how a watch actually works. Most of those guys don't know past the bezel how good or not the construction of those watches/movement are. Funny thread and very typical.
  16. true The person under me can read/write English reasonably well.
  17. True The person under me has at least one leather strap for their watch.
  18. The comment was unrelated to the original post (since the thread is named "... this gen ..."). Just an observation in general. The ROO bezel screws gets a lot of scrutiny but those are easy to flush/align. It just takes a like patience and some fine tweezers. In the case of this particular piece the bezel was altered so there's not much to do there. To be honest the ad is a little misleading considering that's an altered watch.
  19. Everything there looks gen but obviously this is a used watch (although the ad lists as new) and the bezel/crystal have been removed/replaced at one point. The rubber gasket under the bezel is deformed, which is strange. Also I don't understand why the strap is not secured to the case (the case strap screws are missing). I just think this may be a used watch that had damage at one point and instead of sending to AP to fix it the owner/store cheap out on the repair. On a separate note I don't understand people getting so worked up on how flush the bezel screws are and are not on the ROO. It's just a simple adjustment on the screws. Very easy to do. It doesn't show if it's a gen or not.
  20. duhh The person under me has at least one 7750 based watch.
  21. traveling across timezones this weekend. PAM186 for me
